It is possible to use the SC14, it has been done once that I know of, quite likely more than that seeing as I'm no expert. I just read a lot of $h1t, not all of it may be entirely accurate. :) I guess if you're going to be twin-charging, you'll be having to custom fabricate pretty much everything anyway (manifolds, intake piping, unless somehow a HKS twin-charge setup pops up for sale), so while you're there... :wink: I'm guessing it will be in an AE9x engine bay, so: engine, gearbox, supercharger, turbocharger, alternator, power steering pump or air-con compressor, manifolds, intake piping, intercooler... That's a lot to fit in not that big a space. Having said that, I will be very impressed to see this executed. I don't wish to discouage forced induction setups of any kind. :D

From past reading of threads I'm too tired at the moment to locate (this is where I need Trev, Philbey or Hiro Protagonist to correct me if I'm wrong), none of any of the brackets will work so they will need to be custom fabricated & you also need to get the pulleys/piping to line up. All the while trying to get the blower designed for an inline 6 cylinder into an engine bay designed for an inline 4. I was doing some research a while back trying to see if it was worth it as SC12's were a little hard to find at that point, not worth it for me. :)

Hopefully at least painted & re-assembled by then, if not wearing rego plates. Didn't like the first round of filler while sanding it, gave it another hit.

SC12 or SC14? The SC12 is the standard 4AGZE item where the SC14 is from a 1G engine & requires a few modifications (read: is a pain) to fit onto a 4A (if I recall correctly).

BBS's for $800 new...? Bastard! :laff: ImportMonster by any chance? I've seen some good deals (not inc postage) there & the shipping etc charges are quite reasonable. I'm sensing an A vs K carby-engine battle! :lol: Fitting a 3" exhaust, easy! Fitting it so it's legal height, doesn't smack the ground all the time & doesn't scorch your floorpan is another story. Good luck man! :y: It's good fun man, even if the car in the next lane does a sub-11 second pass like when I went. What's even better is you can hit third gear & keep going, rather than reach the public road speed limit & have to short-shift from second to fifth. :wink:

A country with a population of just over 21 million people versus a country with over 500 million people. In regards to potential & actual sales volume, we're a minority & for the return the manufacturers will get from us, it's not "financially viable". It's not just the sale, it's after-sales service, parts etc that they also have to do. IMHO anyway, believe me I agree that we get shafted. I could blame the government for implementing legislation & taxes on imported cars to 'protect' local manufacturers but it's possibly the wrong thread for that. :D

One where you can enter the speed you wish the chime to go off at, not pre-loaded speed zones like a sat-nav unit has (which are always wrong).

One method we used was to get the people on the outside to just nudge the distance markers a little closer together every few beeps. You can take a few metres off without anyone else noticing! :)

The annoying thing is, I played with 5 speed after I pulled it out & found the selector arm moves easily by hand...wouldn't do that for me IN THE CAR even with the cables disconnected. Does make me glad I just skipped out on the wreckers option ($92 at Pick-A-Part or $30 at DP Wreckers) as I would've been getting the wrong one. WGMG - Today. Having issues with getting my cars gearbox working so I take the pushbike to work today. Boss immediately starts giving me $h1t about 'reliability' of Corollas.... Well let's see, that clutch would have to be at least 9 years old & has been flogged for more than 80,000kms by me alone. Would his old MkIII Golf's or BMW X5's or new Puegot's clutch last that long? Or cost less than $200? Not a chance. It has had a few niggles (ignition module, starter motor) in the past but these have been parts that do wear out regardless of what vehicle they're in. Start riding bike home this afternoon, get about 200m down the road & I manage to snap one of the main bolts for the rear swingarm. Reduced to walking, in the rain, yay! Luckily my housemate was able to pick me & the bike up after about 45 minutes. Unluckily, that bolt is not an off-the-shelf item & I have to make a new one. Got home, had a phone conversation with my boss that gave me a day off to fix the car tomorrow, then took it away. He's the boss, whatever, I'll sort out how I'll get to work. Got a text message shortly after saying I can have the day off again, that to fix my car I should look for Hyundais on www.carsales.com.au....The last years worth of repairs/services have cost less than $800, why the f**k would I want to drop $15,000 on a Hyundai? There is no emoticon to express the rage!

Coolant lines & clutch lines may vary from model to model, I was fortunate enough to be able to get away with these things, hopefully you can be too! Made mental notes when I previously tried to get this gearbox in & failed. :) Yep, that's the pattern alright, from what I can tell 5th & reverse on my gearshift is 3rd & 4th in the gearbox. I'm no tech-expert, but from what I can figure, the mechanical lsd means rather than a single wheel providing drive, both wheels do, straight away. More grip for go, but more torque steer. Blue Thing's not getting this, it's for down the track. :wink: I'm positive on the linkages, walked back & forth between BT & Sudi checking the setups & movement. Short of swapping the whole Twin Cam gearshift assembly in as well just be sure, they're correct. I was thinking of raiding the wreckers for an AE92 shifter assembly/cables. Even if they don't work, they're cheap. :yes: I don't have the entire TC gearshift assembly in BT, just the cables & shifter rod (?). Was thinking of swapping the whole assembly/box over from the TC but figure I may as well try one from the model the gearbox is (probably) from. Would you be able to PM me your mobile number? Interested in picking up that gearshift box/assembly (whatever, I'm bad with terminology sometimes :lol: ) & shift kit from you. Do you happen to have the cables as well? Just so I know if I still need to do a wrecker run. :) Never thought I'd put this much effort into Blue Thing... *facepalm*

I can't put my finger on it, it may just be a faint glimmer of hope that the gearbox isn't stuffed but I think I might try getting myself ahold of a gearshift lever & cables from an AE9x series & giving them a go. Am doubtful the 'box is from an AE1xx series, but I get what you're saying about the throw distance. Cheers man, got my brain back on a track! :y: It seems that 3rd/4th on the gearshift is 1st/2nd in the gearbox, for what it'll cost me from a wrecker it's worth a shot I think. Failing that I'll be adding 40-ish kilograms to my scrap metal pile. :D
