  1. A few years back the cop's in Canberra got them selves some fancy "wrx eating" Volvo's . anyway's the cop saw a WRX driving a little fast a decided to stop him, the WRX took off and the cop drove the Volvo in to a brick wall... it was only a few weeks old. I don't think I have seen the other Volvo since LOL.
  2. Hi, Does anybody have a spare atx case with power supply hanging around? I just went and got myself an new motherboard CPU ram and video card and when I got home I found out that my old case was micro ATX only.. what a pee off.. Just PM me and i will call you. thanks David.
  3. Hi all, I must have hit my head of some thing. I sold my Hilux last week end, and today I went a got my self a 1982 VH commodore. The good thing is it a baby V8 a good old 253 with a trimatic , I even got the receipts to say it got less then 30000k's on the running gear and I am only the second owner. The old dude that owned it spent around $10k on it and then passed away.. I only paid $1000 for it the guy wanted $1990 .. The thing goes better then my wifes VP commodore. ( I think she wants to swap) . theres something weird going on ATM , My best mate sold is little car to get a falcon, my wife sold her little car to buy a commdore and I sold my hilux to get my commodore, maybe everybody is turning full bogan.. Now I just need to get a VB tee-shirt...
  4. Do you know whats funny, you are all just interpreting the info you have a little differently. I did a search on the net and found some toyota history pages and after reading them, you are all right and at the same time all wrong LOL. But anyways lets not get in to a bitch fight about it. I have always had one question about car manufacturers, especially the japan based ones. Since drift racing has gotten so big around the world, why don't they release more RWD cars? I bet if they released a new RWD celica, you would see a few of them drifting with a few months, I net a few of the "86" crowd would change to the "NEW" celica, come on they are even turing WRX's and EVO's in to RWD only so they can drift them. If you watch the USA drifting on TV there are alot of american "TANKS" at the drift's now, and I believe this is only because its just easy to buy a RWD "local" car to race instead of importing one... I know that the guys in my rally club would be in a queue to buy a new "RWD" celica if it was released..
  5. Get on the net and search for local rally clubs.. they are always running khana's and the like.. you will need is a cams licence and club membership.. you may also need a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, a helmet and long pants and long sleaved shirt. my only recommendation would be to put but car battery in a battery box.. They will always pick on cars that have the positive battery terminal not covered and tape seams to fall off just before the inspect it again later LOL..
  6. Without sounding like a smart arse... the hand brake is your friend... The best thing i have learned about my under powered ke20 is the hand brake.. anyways its a little off topic but heres my ke20 at its first khanacross event.. since then I have done about 6 khanacrosses and 4 motorkhanas.. I would recomend to everybody, get your self a cams licence and go racing.... my next khana is next weekend.. I CAN NOT WAIT.. hopfully we can get the 4K in to my little beast on saturday...
  7. turn one of you spare exhaust tips in to a flame thrower.. 1. get a electric starter out of a BBQ lighter 2. cut a hole in the tip of the exhaust just big enough to fit the end of the lighter in to it. 3. cut a second hole in the exhaust just next to the first one just big enough to fit a WD40 tube in to it. 4. get some R/C car fuel line and sticky tape that to the WD40 tube and run it in to the car. 5. get a car of homebrand FLY SPRAY (make sure the stuff has a strong smell)and attach the end of the R/C fuel line to it. 6. TESTING TIME, get a mate to stand behind the car, then you release some of the fly spray. make sure you mate can smell it coming out of the exhaust. 7. get a really good 9volt battery and connect it to the electric BBQ starter.. and WHAM-O you should have a spark at the back of the car. 8. NOW comes the fun part.. go for a drive AT NIGHT and when you stop at a set of traffic lights release as much fly spray as you can, then as the lights turn green, give you car a HUGE rev and set the spark off... WOOHOO ..big band and flamage... NOW THATS FULLY SIC... btw if stronger the smell of the fly spray the better.. after it has been burnt IT STINKS.. and smells nothing like a car smell LOL
  8. yes they do have head gaskets. They could have a look at it. But once a diesel has been cooked they are normally stuffed.. because of the amount of heat made by the compression and so on, over heating a diesel is not good. In the workshop manuals I have the only time there are airflow differences is when the engine was forced induction. And what do you mean by bays? The only time I have seen a small Toyota diesel with head gasket problems we could not even start it. If i remember correctly it had compression problems due to the gasket being stuffed. But I suppose I am not a diesel mechanic and every thing I know is out of personal experience, and anything could really be the problem.
  9. remember boys a girls we talking about a diesel here... not like petrol.. The bad new maybe that you had a blocked radiator/cooling system, and when it overheated the first time it damaged the internals of the engine, now that you have fixed the radiator the same "simtum's" ( i can't speeeel) but the cause is different. If this is the case and its had to check, the engine is almost dead.. If it is dead DO NOT get it rebuilt, contact and engine importer and get your self an import 3.0L TDI. A diesel rebuild will cost you at least $6000 but an import should cost around $3000.. The difference in fuel usage could be due to two things.. stuff injector pump if the car has more then 150000k'm on it and the pump has not been done then theres your problem ($1500 to get pump rebuilt) or the engine damage is stuffing it all up.. I have found my hilux "eats" fuel when its hot outside.. Diesels do not like being "cooked" even once is to much. It could be lots more things e.g block oil lines, damaged turbo.. and the list keeps going.. and as far as I know the Hilux/4runner and suft motors are all the same L,2L,2L-T,3L,3L-T AND SO ON..
  10. i would rather call if ricermods.com!!!!
  11. i have a ballest resister also you can have for a dollar which will include free postage... umm... LOL...
  12. the suziki CULTIS is the AWD version of the GTI swift, the gearboxes are made of glass and the CV's where made of horse poo.... if you really want to do this look at getting a TERCEL they where awd, and put an AE82 body on to it... would be easier and cheaper.... just a thought..... if you want a small fun AWD car get a suziki ALTO "k" edition... 900cc 5speed AWD and turbo..... these things are little beast's... these things don't handle like they are on rails the handle like the are a maglev.. LOL... I was thinking about building a rally car out of an ALTO... and theres heaps of "go fast" and/or "ricer" parts around... they do have the own race series in japan...
  13. thomo if you want next time i am out at your place I will take a pic..
  14. I would pass the test before complaining, my mate failed for a similar reason on his first attempt so he complained, it then took him 9 yes nine attempts, on two attempts he did not even leave the drive way from where the test was suppose to start. ( he look right before he look left) ... just pass first or they will keep on failing you

  18. the car has cost me less then $300 all up so if it dies racing.. then I am happy, not bad for a car that was supposed to have been "cubed" a few years ago.... the next race is next weekend, think I can get more air then that??
