Thought i'd post this cause i thought this car looks HOT!! I thought it was ok at first but now its really grown on me.

 

It must have been Toyota's answer to the Datsun 240Z.

Um, That my dear friend is the Toyota 2000GT.

 

It was a VERY LIMITED RUN, one starred in a James Bond flick and they are SUPER RARE FUNTIME HAPPYHOURDAYSLOVE!!!!

Tell you all now, they would hold a lot more value and have a lot more wow factor than an every day rolla.

that toyota 2000 GT has a 2litre 6cyl engine i think its pretty powerful

with the power to weight ratio!!!

Did you know the Cressida was based off many other vehicles such as the Supra and the 2000GT?

Well...not really. The Celica and Supra were based off it (Supra more so). The closest a Cressida coupe came to it is still a long way off compared to the other two.

Its the early M series motor. Like a 3M or 2M i think.. Such a cool looking car. I would sell much for one of those :)

wasnt the 2000gt made before the zed?? which would mean the 240z was based off the 2000gt

The engine mainly used was the 3M-G (available from Toysport with 5-speed for just US$25,500) which had 150hp. There were also nine units produced with the SOHC 2M 2.3L motor.

 

Both the 240Z and the 2000GT had design influence by Albrect Goertz. This is interesting, as 2000GT was originally a project being designed and built by Yamaha for Nissan, but then Nissan dropped out and Toyota jumped in so as to improve their image. 337 of the 2000GT were built by Yamaha for Toyota, including two versions which were made into convertibles for the 1967 James Bond film, You Only Live Twice. Toyota actually did the final touches on the car, so Count Goertz actually just consulted on the car when Yamaha were designing it - he didn't design it all himself.

 

The 240Z on the other hand involved Count Goertz far more, as Datsun/Nissan got him to establish the car's design parameters. The 2000GT came before the Datsun/Nissan 240Z.

 

Count Albrecht Goertz also designed the BMW 507, which is a very nice looking car (and was what the BMW Z8 was meant to pay homage to), and also designed the original CSP311 Nissan Silvia, which is the best looking Silvia available.

id take the z also front on the 2000 is a bit too funky for me

If those are pop up headlights, than whats the deal with the massive bulbs on the front?? Parkers??
