Driving home late one evening the other night from the eastern suburbs to the south. I was just admiring how good corollas really are. Ive owned 2 previous corollas AE82 4ac and Ae82 twin cam, both terrific run abouts. I was admiring how well the KE20 handles, how tight the engine feels when shes warmed up, how smooth the ride is, how little the interior rattles (probably cos it has none haha), how great the heater runs, how it never breaks down....the list goes on!!!!. IT made me think....no wonder the corolla is the best selling car on the planet. Is this why every1 else here drives a corolla? i know ill stay toyota until i move on to european later in life. wanna hear people's thoughts on why they love the rolla's! Cheers

Not many updates recently due to having no money. however ive found a new income and have recently sold the guzzler aka the calais. just thought id post some pics of my budget modification of 'redwalls', its about as artistic as i get with a paint brush but i think its quite affective. In the coming weeks ill have some engine mods happening. and within the next month or two hope to have replaced some worn struts, interior carpet, new centre console and most importantly remove the lowering blocks and get the leafs reset....(while on that topic can anyone tell me if getting the the leafs reset upsets the level of the drive shaft like the blocks do???) anyhoo, ive also got some plans for the grille and light garnishes but that'll come later down the track :jamie: some pickies : enjoy. Cheers Mitch

Cheers

-
yeah man left hand side. don't worry theres no way I'm changing the height :eatlead: just looking for a way that it can be done so the insurance company will cover me. flipping the leafs as easy as it sounds? Ill check thru them receipts and chase up pedders about the struts. got my hands on a brand new RAA badge, car now has redwalls. pics will be posted in rides thread soon :bash:

duuudee if your gettin an XR6 screw throwing cash at the 4ac. save your cash for mods for that. id take the bus for a year if i knew i was guna get an XR6......specially if its turbs. if your considering a 4age conversion......sell yours and just buy a twinky rolla.......1000times easier. altho in adelaide you might wait a bit to find 1, Vic and NSW have plenty.... and by doing that...you get power steering, A/C, a big pimping twin cam steering wheel and a twin cam sticker!

amen funny story
-
ok, so if i were to get the leafs reset and it sat above 100mm above the ground it would be deemed as legal, despite the distance between wheel center and wheel arch.
-
i reckon its just right, not to dark not to light  but yeah.....venetians all round! if they don't make sides for the 26. get 1s for a smaller side window, cut them to shape. that way if theyr smaller, the little arm holders on the venetians can be stretched to the correct length in the window seal
-
I'm fair sure its the strut thats gone, he showing me and wriggling it around which it shouldn't be doing. The blocks were meant to be just cheap and temporary way of lowering the car also, until i got around to flipping the springs. As for the 100mm of clearance, i thought that was a VIC law not so much SA. Still interested in knowing whether or not leafs can be engineered if done correctly ie. flipped. Cheers for reply strola Mitch.
