Stock Ke70 Battery Good Enough For 4age Conv. ??
Rolla__Boy replied to toyke70's topic in Car Electrical
It definately will outlast 2 normal batteries. They can also be mounted any which way, the only way they can't be mounted is upside down, but sideways and on the ends is fine. They also handle vibration better than most...We used to sell alot to Harley riders, because the vibrations from a harley killed normal batteries really quickly. -
So it is one key for all locks? I'll get back to ya...depending on if my ordered ones arrive.... I hate that with ebay...I always end up bidding more than I intend...just because.. haha but $47 is pretty good, that is heaps less than what I will be paying for these new ones.... Gold

YOU need to put some damn pics up of that sexy car you own....I admit I have had a bit of time away from the site (no internet) but I don't remember seeing many, if any pics of your car....and I would love to. Love to see it on a cruise too. Will PM for details. Would you like me to PM you for contact details also? I will be probably sending out group SMS' for info from here on in, to save people searching for it on here. And a damn fine corolla you own too!!! I miss it already haha I already have your details, and forgive me but I haven't had a look for the rego paper yet...so so lazy...I'll get on it I promise. I'll PM you for contact details also if you like. Awesome, Will PM you for details also. Thanks for the replies so far guys....Good to see there is a few people lurking.....Would be GREAT to get as many of us as possible together for a cruise....The more we do, the more attention we will get for the club, and ultimately the more members we will get. Unfortunately I don't have a decent looking corolla on the road at the moment....but wagsy will get there. -

And if you want to be really safe, (and if you are rich) get an Odyssey battery, they have stupidly high CCA, and they will maintain 50% charge after sitting on a shelf for 2 years.... The largest size Odyssey battery is slightly smaller than your average Falcon/Commodore battery but we have had one hold 1100CCA, the same as the largest size truck battery that was sold at the battery shop I worked at. But just use the battery that is in your car, and when it dies, and you have to buy a new one....you would be better off spending a little extra and getting one with a slightly higher CCA, that way you should be covered for a long time. I have an AC Delco battery in my coupe, that I have had now for over 5 years, and twice in that time the car has sat for over 12 months, and once charged, it is STILL working. They come with a 3 year warranty, and for $140 that they retail for....is quite reasonable I think. You could spend $50, and buy one every year for 5 years....and clearly you'd have been better off buying the more expensive battery. -
That dash matt will stop the dash from developing any cracks also, I'd be leaving it on too.... I like the Prelude seat, LOVE the paint....Will look sexylicious with mags on it.

I know the locks are the same, I have been right through the "nice" catalogue....plus I have enough corollas to recognise the locks anyway, But I have no ignitions that the key doesn't come out of...I already have the locks on order....my coupe key fits the tail gate lock, so it locks and unlocks good. Nah I wasn't bidding on locks on ebay...how much did they go for out of interest? I'll see if I get them as cheap from my mate. More pics are coming....gimme a break, do you not realise how incredibly lazy I am?

Another vote for a 20B brap brap....That would be pretty cool.

Since selling my KE55, I have a bit of cash to spend on Wagsy....First thing I need is a new ignition...since the car came with no keys, and one of my keys just happened to fit it....it falls out, so will fail rego. As the car came with no keys, I am unable to unlock the drivers door from the outside, fortunately my coupe key fits the passenger door, but I am sick of getting in that way, so I am getting door locks also. My coupe key also fits the tail gate, but I will see if a locksmith can change it to suit the new door/ignition keys. I have put the steering wheel off the KE55 on also, but have changed nothing else since buying the car. I will take a stack of pics....of "before the transformation" and post them up. I got a "pre-rego" inspection, and was quite happy with the results....there isn't too much wrong with the little beast. It desperately needs more power though, so I will be in search of a cheap 5K, and then promptly stuffing boost up it's ass :lolcry:

I think we need to see who is actually still coming to the site, and maybe start trying to attract some new members. The more active members we have, the more things we can organise...ie. Go Karting, cruises, BBQ's, etc. Any Canberra member who logs on in the next 4 weeks, please post a reply in this thread, so we can get a rough idea of how many active members we actually have, and I'll make a list and gather up contact details so those that don't use the site as much can still be notified of events and info via group sms' or something similar. Thanks guys Geoff

Stock Ke70 Battery Good Enough For 4age Conv. ??
Rolla__Boy replied to toyke70's topic in Car Electrical
CCA stands for Cold Cranking Amps, and is directly related to starting the car, and what it will supply to crank the engine...it has nothing to do with what accessories you are running, and they are taken care of by the cars alternator....except when the car is off, and then they run directly off the battery, and that is when a batteries "Ah" is brought into play, as that is how many amps it will supply for "x" amount of hours before going flat....Deep cycle batteries are made to run things in this manor and go flat and be charged and go flat and be charged....Cranking batteries however are not made to be drained flat and re-charged all the time, and will wear out quickly if you do that to them. Cranking batteries didn't used to display an Ah rating, but new batteries these days quite often do, as they are a bit tougher when it comes to using them like a deep cycle battery. A 4AGE will be no harder to start than any other 4Cyl engine with similar compression, but the higher cranking amps you get, the less the battery has to work to crank the engine over, and usually, the longer it will last. -
How the hell is white interior like dog shit? And what the hell is this thread doing in "Engine Conversions"
