  3. Got the flywheel back from the machine shop. Its now 2.5kg lighter and has been balanced with pressure plate. RA40 yoke is on the way should see it today. Just need to find the correct uni joint. I have been looking through the catalogs but can't find something that would work. Taz_Rx what is the part number for the uni you used?

  5. Clutch is on its way (TYK-6286HD). Flywheel is getting lightened and faced. Just need to find a RA40 yoke and hope it all goes together.

  7. So my plans are W50 gearbox behind 5K flywheel with an Exedy HD clutch (TYK-6319HD). Just need to pick up the parts this weekend. Get the flywheel machined. Put it together. Fabricate a gearbox cross member. Fit yoke to tail shaft with an old holden uni. What’s everyone thoughts on lightened flywheels? My engine builds revs really quickly so probably no need.
  8. So to run 200mm clutch I need to go to a W5X box. So to upgrade to a W50 I need K-W bellhousing, 5K flywheel, 200mm clutch, tail shaft and build a crossmember. Gearbox output shaft is different so I would need to change the yoke as well. Is the tailshaft the right length or do I have to find one? The only advanagte I see of the W50 over the T50 is stregnth. So for the work I might as well fit a W58 for the gear ratios. Any recomedations of clutches? Exedy or Clutch Industries?
  9. Current I'm running a supercharged 5K with 134kw at the wheels. I have just destroyed the T50 and clutch. So now I need to replace them. I don't know what punishment the T50 has been put through before me but all gear are shagged. I'm currently running a 4k flywheel with 180mm cable clutch. Can you fit a 5K flywheel inside a T50 bell housing? Will the starter motor still bolt up? Is a lighten flywheel worth the time for a daily driver? What weight have people got the flywheels down too? Options 1 T50 with new 4K HD clutch ($500) 2 T50 with new 5K HD clutch and flywheel ($550) 3 W5X with new 5K HD clutch and flywheel ($1700) W5X would be nice but its a lot of work and cash to fit a hydraulic clutch. What power can a T50 handle? What brand clutch do people recomend (Exedy or Clutch Industries)? I have always used Exedy but CI are 1/2 the price.

  14. Hey I pulled my engine down due to blowing smoke. As I though time for new rings. But I went to get a set of rings and I found out that ACL have sold up and have moved over seas. I can't find any. So I was told it might be easier to get a new set of ring and pistons. I currently run 20' over so maybe time for a set of 40'. Any help with finding some would be great. B Rad
  15. Hey I am looking at swapping out my 4K and and fitting a 5K in my rally car. Can I unbolt all mods like cam, carbies, exhaust, head etc from the 4K and bolt on to 5K? Will probable need bigger carbie. But for now should be ok. Thanks

  17. Thanks guys for the great feedback. I think that I will make adjustable rosejoint or bushed lower control arms. Will this effect my steering?
  18. Hey I just lifted my Ke20 rally car for more clearance but now I have lost all of my negative camber. Is there a way of changing my lower control arm to something longer? Does anyone sell adjustable ones? Have they been done before? Do I need to modify my steering rack? I don't want to put adjustable top plates in they are to expensive and you only get a small amount out of them. All of my front suspension is standard except for springs. Thanks in advance B-Rad
  19. A KE55 diff will fit, but it has different spring centres and different shocker mounts. I used a KE55 diff in my rally car with the KE55 springs and shackles. I just had to get urethane bushes made up. I also made shocker mounts for the diff, which mounted off the U bolts. KE55 struts and way to big (diameter) to fit in to the tower.
  20. Hey they look tuff. :S Did you get pedders in dandenong to do the work? Where did you get all the parts (wreakers/new)? What model/year did the parts come off? Will they fit a KE20?

  23. Does anyone know what the differences are in KE20's over the years 1970 -74. Mainly 1972 - 74. I am looking at buy a 1972 and a 1974 as a pair but would like to know the difference. I have heard that they changed Grills, tail lights and front indicators in 73 but was that it? Thanks B-rad

  25. Hey has anyone got any photos of what porting jobs they have done to there 4K heads. I am currently porting a head and would love know the do's and don't's of 4K head work. B-Rad
