  1. Good work man, whats the specs on those wheels and tires? They fit under the rear nicely, I wonder if they will rub at all..
  2. Yes what a relief. But now it's Decembeard so it's game on. :D
  3. Try petrol.
  4. A bit of action today not much on the wagon but definately related. My ke55 write off/ parts car is now gone. After being stripped of all it's worth including 5 speed 4k combo with 150k on it (soon to be in the wagon). Lots of other stuff was taken off it and also used it as a bin for a while.. anyway it will be sadly missed as it was my daily cruiser for ages and now it's gone to get crushed. Here's a few pics of the mayhem of actually getting the car out of garage./. on a skateboard and bricks :jamie: :sob:  :sob: :y: Goodbye orange car So anyway, back to the wagon... heres a pic of the replacement diff assembly installed along with my leaf packs, totally need new shocks now haha, once you start, you gotta finish  also planning on a new exhaust system because this one is leaking in several places :( Still keen to put the sway bar in from the ke55 but there isn't any where to put them like in this pic of the ke55 The wagon doesn't have those holes there on the rails so should I just not bother or is there any other way I could get it to work? Maybe weld it or something.. Also a question about the front struts/shocks is there any model that have short stroke inserts or something that would be suitable for using in my 38? I know it has been covered here before but It still confuses me as to what you need to do. Any help or opinions would be good, espacially if you have done something similar before. Cheers :y:
  5. Hey I got the brakes working, and better than before aswell. I used the brake bong and it was great! Test drove it just now and noticed a slight improvement in the brakes compared to the last set and also COMPLETE SILENCE. No wheel bearing noise, No brake squeak, Nothing! I great relief I have to say.... Thanks very much for the hints guys. You saved me a lot of time, mucking around and probably money. I <3 Rollaclub Untill next time... Cheers Chris
  6. I tried bleeding them again and still same result. I have bled them 3 times now.. When bleeding brakes how much is supposed to come out? I'm not getting much. Also makes a splattery noise when it comes out. Almost sounds like air is being pushed through the tube rather than brake fluid. But I don't know because I can't see. Something else is wrong I think because it's acting strangley, like when it's idling and I press the brake half way it does this vibration on the pedal and if I pump the pedal the engine splutters and stalls. \ Maybe the master cylinder is stuffed? I got no idea... and I'm over it. Will try something else tomorrow...
  7. Hey. I've been working on the car a bit and cruising in it too. Today I changed the diff assembly over...(see pic \/ \/ \/) It came out of my Ke55 and was quieter, had less ks on it, has sway bar and brakes seemed to better in the ke55, so yeah, I had it sitting there so I painted it up and got a new brake hose, cleaned it. etc. etc. and now finally have put it in.. The pic shows just before I started. No after pics sorry. It all went pretty smoothly apart from a couple of things eg. couldn't put the sway bar in because there wasn't any mounts on the car and didn't want to make any, so I left that out for now.. Also found the shocks seem to have been shortened. This is them up against stock rears out of ke55 which I was going to put in but decided to stick with the short ones because they must be there for a reason?? Anyway, the main thing I haven't figured out yet is the brakes. I bled them and everything all hooked up properly(I think) but they aren't working. Like not at all... ? Hand brake is fine.. but foot brake not. And it's still working at the front so, something I just did, MadE iT broKedeD  LOL Anyone got any tips or had the same problem? HELP Cheers Chris
  8. Nice wagon mate! Liking the 14s too... Maybe would look even better with centres flipped at the back? For extra dish. Either way keep up the good work.
  9. That bumper looks ok, not what I expected though. But still a good effort. Do you think it would polish up after being welded and cut? Maybe you could put a rubber strip or something over where the join is...? You should respray it the original colour. It's a nice colour. :y: Anyway, keep at it! Cheers Chris
  10. It's tomorrow... Where's the pics at!?!?
  11. Cool, I look forward to seeing (and stealing) your ideas for the rear bumper. :)

  13. Hey, nice car. I saw it out the front of the rego office at marion a few days ago. Looks chill with the centrelines..
  14. Yeah my 81 ke55 had one. And my 79 ke38 wagon doesn't. So I guess JiP is right on the money they started at 1980. What I would like to know is if there is a way of putting one on an earlier model. Do they all have the mounts? Or would you have to make them? Don't mean to steal your thread Kyle, just interested to know.. Cheers

Haha no shit, if I had known you were a rolla club member I might have made the effort to try and hear what you were saying :S Random dude in commy = rather concentrate on driving lol Always nice to get random compliments while cruising around though. My car is good like that. Keep your pants on Raven nothing suss going on here :o
  16. Yeah a fair bit of stop start driving. Lots of short trips and red lights along the way. But even still I though 4ks were supposed to get well over 10kms per 1L. Ah well atleast it's not as bad as Slo's ute
  17. I did a fuel consumption calculation today, after filling up to the brim and driving exactly 100kms I filled it up again today and got 11.28 litres into it which gives me a total of 8.8kms per litre.. :/ thats pretty bad right? What kind of things should I be looking at with fuel consumption like that? I get a fuel smell in the car sometimes too so maybe a leak somewhere?
  18. Hey mate good to know you are prepping it for paint. Are you sticking with yellow or changing it up? And if, for some reason you want to get rid of the roofrack and nickyboy doesn't want it, I would happily give it a good home on top of my 38. Cheers
  19. hiccups
  20. It was a matter of an hour or two before I had another clutch cable in the car. Been cruising since and the clutch actually feels alot smoother with the newer cable in. It used to be hard to let it out slowly without it sticking and then jumping.. was really annoying and I thought it was the actual clutch but I'm happy to know it's not. Ryan it's about 2" lowered all round and the rear is only reversed eyes with an extra leaf. Comfortable ride while still having the lowered look. Plans(in no order): Continue with body work and paint. Get some new fat tires for the rear. Put 5 speed box in with a fresher 4k. Service brakes. Dinner time! :)

I wouldn't count on that mate. Last time I went the one in the ke55 was pulled apart and there was a shattered piston or something wrong with it. The other one in the van might be there still. They told me $280 for a whole 5k. Edit: hehe too fast for me Charl. I think there might be one in a van in the vans/4x4 section still but not sure haven't checked lately.
  23. Now that you mention it. WGMG is that when you send pm's it doesn't go into the sent folder. My sent folder never has anything in it. Sometimes I forget if I have sent it or not and there is no way of checking.

Went down to toyoland today and the guy Rick was there even though it says closed out the front.. but yeah he has sold the block and now getting rid of stuff. Not heaps left but this is what I found when I was there.. Ke70 5 speed box Heaps of 3k and 4k engines. A pile of ke10 parts. Didn't really look hard cos I don't have one. A pile of ke20 parts. Again not sure what is there but I saw a couple of good looking bumpers there.. He is getting rid of stuff pretty quickly now so get in quick or you will miss out. Like I did on my ke36 bumper which got taken to Sims :y:
