I drove the car around for about 20kms before dropping it of to the mechanic which included a few hard stops, i felt nothing strange. The car was registered a couple of years back and nothing then either. The friend who got me the race pads uses them in his historic Nb mini race car, he said back then he use to only get 2 race meets out of a set of rotors. Now with new rotors and road pads the car doesn't stop as good as it did with the race pads and " Super Sharp Rotors ! "

Decided to get my mini out of storage and send it to the mechanic to check over it before i re registered it. When he checked the brakes this is what he found, he'd never seen anything like it before, the super aggressive race pads had worn the rotor down to the thickness of a saw blade and just as sharp on the edges. What made him more astonished is that he and i both drove the car before he pulled the wheels of and you could not notice a fault in the brakes. And yes those are cracks in the rotor!

The trays just big enough for old Corollas, the truck is geared to carry a load, travels fine at between 90 - 100kph loaded. 1st is very short, second is long, third is short and fourth is long, with no load on you take of in 2nd. Its wont be supper fast but it'll do the job. :y:

I just bought a new ally tray and the workshop that did the work on my Sprinter are making a new steel frame for it to be mounted on. They'll also be installing the electric winch and tie down points. :)

MA61 Supra 14x7 alloys with 195/65x14 tyres for that ultimate old skool factory look! :)

A KE10 and KE20 weight less than 800kg. If you want to SR20 something much easier in a KE70.
-
don't go destroying a KE10 or KE20 by putting an SR20 in it. Anyway you can't engineer one in legally. Legally without engineering you can go 15% bigger than the original engine which usually means a 1300 4k, but you can sneek a 5k or 7k in if your carefull. :)

Its going again with the 3K twin carb motor out of my red KE17. Just a few little bits to finish it of them it'll be up for sale.

Since the original pics last year i've sold the Mazda B1600 ute, Mazda 929 wagon, Crown Wagon and the KE 50 liftback. I'll have to get some pics of the shed soon. :)

The GVM is just over 4000kg, it can legally carry about 2500kg. My little 740kg Sprinter should be fine. :fuzz:

Started on the interior clean today, came up like new. Had the rear measured up for the new back, should be completed in a couple of weeks.

Most of you already know my little red KE 18 wagon, it did run a 7K efi engine but i've decided to go back to an original 3K. The 3K i'm using is the old engine out of my KE17 Sprinter. It was originally purchased 12 years ago as a low km Jap import motor, i removed and shaved the head and fitted a mild cam. When the head was removed i noticed the engine was very very clean a real low km Jap import motor, back when you could get them. Already got one quick 7K didn't need a second, just incase you were wondering why i decided to go back to the 3K.

Recently sold my car trailer and have replaced it with this 1981 model Toyoace truck. Its only done 97,000, no rust and a very healthy 5R 2.0 motor. I'm going to make a new back for it with some ramps and an electric winch to pull the car on. Will be purpose built for KE Corollas. Looking for some original hubcaps and some other little bits so if you know where one is let me know!

Ke30 2dr Sedan... Whats It Worth?
Gavclassic replied to ke11restorer's topic in Automotive Discussion
I sold this one on Ebay about 2 years ago, original low KMS, 12 months rego and was full serviced. Back then i got $2800 for it, i'd buy it back in a flash for that now!. If it was mine again to sell, most likely around $3500-$4000. Very hard to get these 2 door KE30's now. -
I've always loved that old race car look, especially on Alfa and Triumph running with no front bar. I actually have plans for some spotlight brackes to come out through the original bar brackets with spotlights fitted, a bit MK 1 RS2000 rally Escort. Basically just wanted to bit a bit different. As for the wheels, i found them it the boot of a KE10 i dragged out of a swamp. They're a German brand Ronal, had to get them fully restored, blasted, powdercoted, machined and new inserts. Have seen some on cars in some Classic Jap Mags but none actually in Australia. Thought i'd through in another engine bay shot, now with air filters and you can see the sump in this one!

You can see in this pic where i used a hole saw to make the hole in the console, that thing next to the cluth peddle is a drivers footrest, very handy when racing!. This item was made by the same guys that did the rest of the work on the car.
