Ran Oran Park for the last time a week ago!, car was running great until a ball joint came out! Only did about 5 laps but still won my class and ended up 47th outright from 107 entrants.

Forget the 17", look for some 14 x 7 MA61 Supra alloys or some mesh type 15"'. Other than that car is looking good :S !

Looks great  , the best tool i have in my shed is my pressure cleaner, its what does most of the work and a good degreaser. If your going to use the car a bit might consider some 13" Mazda wheels. The 626 ones look good, they can fit the Toyota centre cap and chrome nuts give it that factory look. Best tyre size i've found in 175/65 x 13. Same as i've got on my wife's KE17 ( see my thread ). Don't hesitate for any advise, if i was closer i'd come over to help.

Thanks guys!, some more pics of the RT72 Corona, some of these were takes on our road trip to Phillip Island back in March 09.They were also done before i put the stripes on.

Most of you would have seen some of these but seeing as i had to clean out the shed i thought i'd take some pics of what's inside. 1. The nearly finished 67 KE10, owned 4 years. 2. The overrated 70 KE11, owned 11 years. 3. My sons Harry Potter Ford Anglia, owned 12 years. 4. 69 KE10 old race car project, KE25 front end, Mazda brakes, full chrome molly cage, owned 13 years. 5. Turbo Mini, owned 22 years. 6. 70 RT72 Corona 1900 SL Hardtop, owned 9 years. 7. Corona XT 130, not usually what i'd keep in the shed but its way to good to be left out, owned 4 months.

Big re shuffle of the fleet due to happen this weekend, stay tuned for more pics of this car and some others that'll be taken out of the shed!

Looks good, but definatly a set of lower coils will help. I've just ordered a set of Kings for my KE70!

First time i've seen a Crook Lock used that way !!!..

Don't worry folks this one won't be seeing any dirt action. If i don't keep it 100% stock i'll be modifying it along the same lines as my red KE17 SL. Definately no chrome 17"s and a sub box, its all Old Skool for me ! :)

This is my wifes KE17 that she thought she was going to sell but after i got it out gave it a little clean and had it prepared to be freighted to SA to the new very worthy owner ( sorry Jai ) she changed her mind. Whilst the car was tucked away in the shed the decision to sell was easy but after having it sitting in the carport and going for a drive any chance of it being sold was gone ( for now anyway ). Hard to believe after 10 years in storage just rebuilding the front calipers, a new battery and cleaning out the carbys and we're away again.

If your talking about your Factory Alloys, they all go like that. Its the clear coat that has perished and the dirt has gone in and under the clear. Very expensive to get restored. A cheep set of 14" can be found on the Celica's, they have a good looking factory steel wheel complete with centre caps, they look similar to the Corolla 13" but 14 x 5.5.
-
Great attention to detail, love what your doing with your Corolla's, always liked that factory spec look. :) Handy Hint: Instead of using the black die you can buy a product called Bumper Coat in a pressure pack can, works great on mudflaps and bumpers of course!..

If its the only ride you have best to keep it driveable and relatively economical ! :P

Start with a set of extractors with an 1" 1/2 system and lowered coils will make a great improvement. :)

Original plan was to re shell the Khanacross car, will most likely just use the engine, drivers seat, gauges, drivers foot rest and a few suspension bits. I have a set of 15x7 Mesh Arial alloys or some, 14x6.0 Watanabees to go on. I won't be taking it for a squirt in the dirt though, most likely do a few track days when done. The blue KE70 is not very saleable in its current form, a registered track car is much easier to sell.

Well here's the latest purchase and yes it was the one advertised on this forum. I don't understand why no one else snapped it up ?, original 51,000kms, factory 5 speed and absolutely NO RUST!. Car drives like new even has the original Uniroyal SR78 tyres, drivers seat needs a small repair and there are a couple of small dents which i'm going to have the paintless dent man attend to and after a buff and polish all the original factory paint will come up a treat.

Yeh, just make sure i don't slam into anything. One of the hardest things with this car is still trying to make it look reasonably original "period type". I'm not wanting to chop and modify this one too much that it ends up being a Sports Sedan.

A for effort, good to see another one being saved and re born !!.. :hmm:

Looks great, the only way to clean one up proper is to pull it apart. Well done !!

Have done about 10 events since the re build, Eastern Creek 2:01, Oran Park 53, Oran Park GP 1:23 and Wakefield Park 1:15. Car still runs factory Corolla 5 speed box and standard diff with LSD, brakes standard disc/drum with slotted rotors, competition pads and Laser master cylinder. Heading back out to Oran Park for the very last time January 10 for a Supersprint. The KE18 had to go to help fund the KE17 rebuild.

I guess i should be flattered ?.... :hmm:
