  1. However in saying that, rc isn't just corolla's or ke's for that matter (why should we just focus on one era of corollas). Agreeing with what yoda said as well, if you have a passion for cars in general and want to know more about them, this would be a great forum to learn off.
  2. Not just corollas....any form of Toyota is welcome here. :S
  3. I think the whole point of "38,000 kms" is NOT to molest the car by modifying it with a 2JZ (as in, keep it stock as possible) Any other 150,000+kms supra, yeah sure why not.
  4. ^^^^ trev i think thats just a little bit over-estimating unless theres a shortage of 14' tyres in the country, over $200 would just about get you semi slicks i would think. Bloody hell, when i bought my 14's a while ago they were only $110 a tyre for Yoko C drive's for 195's.....they can't have gone up that much.
  5. Not sure at this stage, might just play it by ear and see how i feel when i get home. :S
  6. Ahhh, pure awesomeness. I had a stratos pass me doing god knows what speed at the Goodwood Festival of speed while walking around the rally track.....i stood amazed for about 30secs after it with mouth wide open.
  7. If anyone is wondering what the Twin turbo *R* stands for (no its not some wanky f@$kin honda thing), the R designates the fact that the interior is full Recaro, so front seats, rear seats and trims. Also comes with a factory Momo gearknob and steering wheel. I must admit, the first time i stood on the go pedal in this....it surprised me alot, sounds f@$king awesome at full noise. Jip - i'll chuck some engine bay shots up this weekend when its all back together, it currently has the timing covers off and everything associated with replacing the timing belt. Alright for a RRP back in 1990 of around $65,000+ Currently watching this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...RK%3AMEWAX%3AIT hmmm.
  8. Agreed, brushless technology is the way to go with this type of thing....then Lithium polymer/LiFE Batteries for powering the bastards and you wouldnt have ANY problems. Except maybe the Lipo becoming a massive hand grenade in an accident. BOOM!
  9. Doesnt handle like one, trust me. Just looks high in the photos....it's already got lowered springs and KYB dampers installed. Maybe down the track i might invest in some coilovers, however i'm quite liking the dampers atm. Mods already installed on the car when i bought it include a 3.5" turbo back exhaust (hence the massive cannon), High flow cat, Dampers, Springs, K&N pod filter with HKS intake pipe, R33 GTR 17x9's. Engine is Stock as far as i know, about 3 weeks after owning the car i was driving over mount tamborine on the way back from the coast and hit a massive rock in the middle of a rock slide (tried to avoid as many rocks as i could) and it punctured the sidewall in the drivers side tyre. So i had to replace both front tyres with new ones....they now have Maxxis MA-Z1 tyres on the rims. Oh and Taz, i've been told about the dump pipe design on these....yeah i agree its woeful, shall be upgrading them when time and cash permits. :S
  10. The cannon is getting replaced with a nice looking twin tip muffler when i can get to a exhaust shop and have the cash to do so. Also, both mine and teddy's supras are decent looking...his has alot less k's on it than this one though, and is VERY overrated. lol
  11. I'll definately be showing up at some point in the afternoon, with a special guest. Probably leave in the late evening.
  12. So my memory was jogged after seeing Teddy's new supra, that i have always wanted to own a MA70/71. I've always loved the shape and the stance of them on the road, plus the fact you don't see many of them anymore. I started looking around for one, and promptly found a few interstate, but wasnt really interested in plane fares and costs involved of buying an interstate car. So i kept looking and eventually stumbled across one for sale on the side of a major rd in brisbane not far from where i live. I stewed on it for a couple of weeks before asking my brother what he thought of the car i was thinking about putting a deposit on. It was a Red 1989 MA70 7M Auto Single turbo Supra, much the same as teddys....however without the modcons like targa top and a few other bits and peices. He screwed his nose up at the thought of working on a 7M (hes a mechanic himself) and told me to buy one with a 1J conversion if i wanted something in that shape. So i went back to the drawing board and then found out that in japan, the MA70 was brought out from the factory with a 1J already inserted..... Offically known as a JZA70. So i eventually found one that had been imported, and low and behold it was in a suburb not far away.....This was a genuine 1990 JZA70 Twin turbo R edition supra....and i liked it. Alot. So i bought it.....and i've been the owner since about the first week of october. For the roadworthy to be done i had to do the brake pads and replace the front rotors....what better way to replace front rotors than with nice big Slotted ones. :bash: And the Stock Headunit had been removed, so i set to and gave it some upgraded sounds.... Front Door: Original Rear Speaker Shiny new one Front amp for cabin speakers: Thats about it for now, i'm currently replacing the timing belt as it hasnt been done for a long time. Should see more progress soon. :D Cheers. Xany.
  13. This is, the perfect example of a overrated car. I wouldnt use the term overrated on anything less. It drives and rides like no other 20 year old car i've ever been in. This car was mainly the reason i picked up mine, because i started looking around for one after teddy bought this, and promptly told me he wouldnt sell it to me. The MA70/71 supra will, and always has been my favourite shape toyota....my KE55 comes a very close second.
  14. I may be coming out for a drive on the saturday afternoon to say gday, wont be staying the night though. If the supra is running i'll bring it, if not it'll be the corolla. :) I'll think about coming on the next one, just don't have the spare time atm.

  18. Hasnt rained up this way all day, i think there should be a fair few people out. Also, i've changed the thread title as this seems to be a recurring thing every friday. Who would be interested in checking out Harry's on a thursday night as well?
  19. *waves to the crack whore from the exa forums*..... Enjoy your stay at rollaclub, we don't discriminate......much. Wgmg....friday afternoons, why do they drag on and on and on till closing time. Fridays are totally the longest day of the working week. Grrr
  20. Thats normally set in the notifications of the topic you are tracking.... My controls - Subscriptions - View topics, find the topic that is sending you the emails, tick the box next to it and then select from the drop down box "Change to: Daily/weekly email digest"
  21. Yes please sir, been meaning to ask you about that for ages....i always hit the send button, then realise i havent ticked the box. Gets quite annoying. lol Happy birthday to ya dad Jon...rofl. And yes, channel 9 bought the rights for Top Gear off Sbs, and there was some mention of shane warne having something to do with the show.....(i have no idea what, he's useless).
  22. don't think i've got anything on at this stage so i might make the trek down again. :)
  23. Thats what seat covers were invented for....not only do they protect the seat from wear and tear (a small amount) they also stop your ass and back from getting 3rd degree burns on a nice hot aussie 35 degree day. :)
  24. Seen the big pink thing before....i thought it crashed? as for the needle....well yeah, its big, pink and has a rainbow on it. Did anyone know his real name is Steve Ackerie? http://www.seabreeze.com.au/News/Power%20B...ng_2666950.aspx
