So far I have an AE71 crossmember, T50 gearbox and crossmember, and a tailshaft to suit. I also have an AE71 pedal box, clutch hardline, soft line, master cylinder and slave cylinder on their way to my house. Though I need a T50 clutch fork and the little clip thingies(anyone got one?). Also the car has a lot of rust at the back, the front half up until the rear quarter panels is great! But the bottom of the rear quarter panels and around the boot seal is totally rusty. This will get fixed though, eventually.

Hey Rollaclub! This is my first go at building a track car, it's an auto KE70 that I bought from redae71(thanks Luke!). I plan to do the standard 4AGE swap, get the car reasonably light, and sort out some decent suspension. Oh and quadlights! So I got the car about a week ago and drove it home on an unregistered vehicle permit. It seemed to drive nicely, though the right hand upper spring seat was fouling on the adjustable camber plates due to too much camber, and causing the spring to twist on the strut when I turned. But other than that it was fine. When I got the car(minus the wheels): What I'm going to put in it: What I'm going to do it with(I spent ages saving up to buy all these tools, and I'm so happy I did):
  4. Good on you guys.
  5. 0:27! Nice screwdriver-key as well haha.
  6. There may be an exception where certain models of *E7* have steering arms that will fit on an AE86 strut(AE71 panel van for example), but the majority of *E7* steering arms won't fit AE86 struts. The reason people keep posting up saying "you'll need AE86 steering arms" is because in most cases it's true, and they've probably tried it themselves. But you could be lucky and they may just fit right in. To fit the AE86 coilovers you will also need AE86 hubs, caliper brackets, calipers and rotors.
  7. Different to KE70 mirrors. I was going to put this mirror on my KE70 because it doesn't have a left hand mirror, but it's fairly different. I thought they were the same :( Thanks anyway for sending it.
  8. The mirror is different :sob:
  9. ^f@$king lol! I'll be starting a build thread very soon so peeps can check it out.
  10. I don't think just bolting stuff in is going to be hard, I'm more worried about the wiring. I suck with electrical stuff.
  11. Hero  And thanks Spencer, I've already got around half the parts but none of the skill lol.
  12. Oh I see, I didn't realise you had the upper strut tube spacer in there. By the way was there any other good parts in that AE71 that you got the aircon from?
  13. Supercool!
  14. Those coilovers look like they don't have much travel :S How come you didn't cut the strut shorter and use a different insert? PS I love the front end on this car, those crystal quadlights are so bawsss!
  15. That would be awesome Ella! I'll start up a build thread when I get it so you can see how bad the rust is. Most of the car is good, it's just at the bottom of the rear quarters and around the boot seal. But it's still awesome.
  16. I just did a whole heap of reading about it, and it seems that it doesn't work all that well above the ground or in dry environments. It needs an electrolytic path to complete the circuit otherwise the potential difference between the metals does nothing. Which sucks.

I replied to your email, I don't see why you would be blocked from my email account?

I will take the kit. I'll PM you to confirm details.

    Thanks,

    Rian.

  18. I don't understand why people don't use a sacrificial anode to protect cars from rust, would it not work? Has anyone tried it? I might try it with some aluminium or something.
  19. This is so cool!
  20. redae71's KE70, I'm going to pick it up on Tuesday. It's going to need some serious rust fixing(I seriously need to learn how to weld), then it's 4AGE time!
  21. This is it, though it doesn't have the wheels in the second pic. But has coilovers, bucket seat, momo wheel and a strut brace.
  22. Just bought a KE70!

Okay sounds cool. If postage is all good then I will buy the setup, just PM or email([email protected]) me your preferred payment method and the associated details. And I'll PM you my address too.

    Thanks,

    Rian.

  24. http://www.customautoelectrics.com.au/page_50.html Are you replacing your indicators with LEDs? Or just adding in and extra pair of indicators which are LED? I don't understand electrics too well, but couldn't you run the LEDs in parallel to the standard indicators, and have 2 flashers: one for the standard indicators and one for the LEDs? That is if you are just adding an extra LED pair of indicators and not just replacing the standard indicaotrs with LEDS.
