pozman Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Guys let me know what your thoughts are for a new exhaust on my turbo KE10 running the 5K at the moment. 2.5inch from turbo is all you will need, single mufler, not a cannon (this is up to you but it just wouln't be right foer a ke10, loud too) Quote
Nitephyre Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Yeah, go 2.5in. I've got a 2.25in on my stocko 4A-C panelvan and it has a nice note, not too loud and gives decent back pressure I think :jamie: Quote
doityourself Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 My brother had an Exa turbo that was 1.5 litres, he used a 2.25 press bent exhaust with a lukey turbo muffler. It flow really well and didn't have that farting in a tin can like cannons give. Quote

On my exa i ran a 2.5" dump pipe off the turbo (Turbo was a 2.3L diesel turbo and the dump pipe stopped under the start of the floor pan) which met up with 3" exhaust with a straight thru lukey turbo box, No mozzies in a milo tin and it flowed very good. Taz_Rx Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Mines just 2.5 off the turbo till under the passengers feet, then goes into a 2 inch system I bought off here with a very quiet muffler. sounds like a completely stock car when its just sitting there idling. don't think its going to make any biggy what size you really use, just keep it above 2". noticed you have a t25 listed in your sig matt! what happened to the saab turbo?? Quote
wagon Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 I'm running a 3 inch from turbo back, with turbos back pressure means nothing u don't need any Quote

They are essentially the same,it uses a different style of wastegate delivery to the normal bolt on flange type. Just breatha a little easier when the wastegate is activated. Quote

anastasios Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 hey guys i have a 5k motor thats had quite alot of work, eg 4age pistons quad throttles cam etc i was wondering if its necessary to run aftermarket extractors, if so where would i find them for a k series Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 what do you just have a standard header set-up. Yeah, extractors will make a difference. Think of it this way: Would it be easier to take a shit if you had a bigger more free flowing arse hole!!!?? :) same with intake, can "eat" more air if you have a bigger mouth!! but then a big mouth isn't all that much better if you don't have an appropiately sized throat (manifold, ports and valves). BTW matty, when we gunna see a vid so we can hear what she sounds like now?? :) Quote

I am in the process of fitting 7Mg injectors from a supra cause mine are out of puff at 12 PSI now with new exhaust. Quote
