Hey hey,

I thought some of you might find these a bit interesting, This is where i work on weekends.

Thats my best mate Jamie with his arms up, See the poxy blow up life jackets we must wear, There has been some very funny jokes pulled with these blow up jackets.

We unload and load the passenger bags and food etc.

Passengers walk along here to the ship, the air bridge is worth big $ as its all automatic.

Haha Porters inside the building around the corner are HOT but no time to chat when 2000 bags have to be moved :P

Which boat was it... Pacific Star? Al lot of the P&O boats dock in Cairns too... there was one here a few days ago, might be the same one ;)

One of my good mates works the docks... he skippers a pilot tug that brings these big bastards in to port. loves his job.

And I second the motion for pics of aforementioned porters. Stat.

*edit... just read the name on the stern. duuuuuh*

We do the Pacific Star and a few others but mostly the Pacific Star, We get the QEII when its around this side of the world and thats a HUGE ship.

Some times i start at 6 and finish unloading at about 8am - 8:30am, Usually head down to the servo for some food, Come back at 10am load up the ship till 1:30pm then let the ship go and watch it float out to sea well to the gateway anyway.

Most of the male workers in the building are spanish or italian or from around those parts and don't speak english very well so when we ask how many bags are left we get jibberish.

Unloading the the bags is non stop from 6 am to about 8. People try and bring scissors, knifes and stuff like that on board and that takes up so much time from loading up the ship.

Every now and then we pick up small bags and they are vibrating ;)
