Nothing a great deal of alcohol didn't fix that night.

Drivetrain is good.

New shell off to cage builder on Saturday.

That shell needed a front cut, and a rear quarter cut, and some decent time on the rack. As it had already recieved a front right cut before my time, and someone offered us a good rolling shell for $250, the rest is history.......

Win, I had no sentimental attachment to that car, so we started again. If it had been my 25, that would have been another story.

Nope.

The only time that car saw the light of day was for competition. It was near a place called Gallangowan. However pics were taken at Samford.

Yet another death near my place. 2 car head on, 1 person ejected from the car with all 3 dying. Theres around 6 head ons on the same stretch of road (highway) each year.

Theres been one of those "we're going to spend x amount of money"signs for the last year or two and nothings been done about it. Theres crosswinds and all sorts of stuff. But i think the biggest problem is people not paying attention and speeding. I had a big f100ish ute catchup to me a month or so ago and he was doin 130+ EASY........ WITH A TRAILER!

The first time i borrowed my dads car because i had a cracked radiator hose on a friday afternoon and i coldnt get a new one as it happened after 5pm, i was 19 and i was driving to a mates place in craigmore to meet for a movie and pizza night, and the traffic was heavy from gawler, so i went the back way.

It was a 2004 Suzuki Vitara with lift kit, bigger wheels, bullbar spotties, kick panels, roof racks, rear racks, the works, lotta money spent, and i was doing a tad under a 100 down a dirt road i have been down a hundred times, but i was running a little late, so i was going the same speeds i used to do the roads in my falcon and was pushing a bit.

I think the road was freshly graded, and i took an off cambered right hander which tightens up and goes down hill, the rear end stepped out in a flash, i tried to correct and ended up in the scrub in the left, hit a rock, bounced me, and spun me about 120 degrees back onto the road, and was now sliding backwards down the dirt at about 80km/h for a distance of about 30m, rear left wheel hit a pile of rocks on the side of the road on the right, and i did a complete backflip over a 4 foot fence and some rock outcrops and vegetation about 6 feet high, cleared everything, and began to roll, and roll, and roll, and came to rest on 4 wheels about 40m from the road into a paddock.

All i can remember is from the moment the rear steppd out, to the feeling of sliding backwards took about 2-3 seonds, and the last thing i remember when i first flipped, was seeing everything in the car hit the roof, and then i remember waking up with the headlights still on, on all four wheels with glass and blood around me, looking ahead into a paddock. I don't know how long i was out for, but my head was thumping. I climbed out over the windscreen and bonnet and stood there fo a few minutes taking it all in. Then i had to ring my dad and tell him the news. The car resembled a sardine can through a mulcher.

Now if i am in a rush anywhere, i suck it up, as its better to arrive late, then never.

At least you learnt from your mistake. So many just keep making the same mistake over and over again.

tapped a tyre wall at archerfield,

it did literally buff out.

other than that nothing really, hit a roo in my old rolla, not alot of damage. My cars tend to stay on the road, albeit sideways.

Why does everyone hit Kangaroos lol.

Also. The above quote about people learning from there mistakes... Yeah.. I have learnt a bit too. My dad was going a bit fast in the wet and I sort of had a bad feeling about him driving like this in the wet. I was going to tell him to slow the f@$k down otherwise we will under-steer. Though I kept to myself because my father doesn't know about the Skyline accident lol..

Anyway. We were near my work and this old lady stopped at the lights and my dad thought she was going to race the yellow so he sped up. The front wheels lost traction from braking, though my dad let go of the brakes, slid over into some other lane and regained control. We would of hit her if we kept in the same lane. It's amazing.. sorta avoiding an accident. He was teaching me the same technique a few months ago. Now I actually saw the use of it.

Oh, I am also now a little scared when people go fast near corners.. It sorta sucks in a way. Though I like that it had taught me about safety on the road a little. Well.. the under-steer bit.

Today has been very wild with the weather and such..

The downpour managed to send about 9 cars spinning off on mountain highway as there was a very oily section, we completely lost traction but managed to stay straight and in the lane. Others were going around in circles.

Oh yeah last night i had to park my aunties excel from her front yard up the steep driveway and in the process i almost got king hit by a Pajero that was doing around 90 in a 50 zone. as i pulled onto the 10m stretch of road i needed to get onto the driveway his bullbar missed the drivers door by all of a bee's doodle. Frightened the hell outta me so i instictivly got on the horn :)

i couldn't see him coming either as theres a massive blind spot in the chicane along the street my auntie lives on.

i parked the car, got out, swore a bit and had a drink to settle the nerves

had an acco in the rolla about 18mths ago, went for a run with a few mates in the car, hadn't had the car built long and i hadn't been for a quick run with people in the back. Went around a round about that i knew but hadnt been around for a while, turns out there was roadworks there that i didnt know about, there was a massive drop off (massive at 80kph anyway) and i lost the arse end, went up a gutter at 70 odd k's and cleaned up 2 street signs. Bent the lh chassis rail in 2 places and knocked the clutch fork off the slave cylinder, bent the bonnet, lh gaurd, bumper, smashed the grill, h/l surounds, h/lights and front apron.

from this i learnt, A) don't play on rd's that u arent 100% sure are all good

and B) don't play silly buggers with anybody in the back

other than that, ive hit 1 roo, 2 possums, 2 birds, 1 pushbike rider and a bug that was big enough to bend a wiper arm

before i cop crap, the bike rider was riding the wrong way around a round about, which is on a blind hillcrest, in the wet, at night, wearing black.

i figure if he's that stupid, if i didnt hit him, someone else would have
