TRD ke70 Posted October 2, 2010 Author Report Posted October 2, 2010 Very slow day, but got a little more stuff done. intake manifold has now been studded, and Tony is now working on the throttle setup and plumbing up the oil cooler. I'm spent most of the day grinding, bogging and painting the new scuttle panel and also the fuel tank cut out in the boot. So tomorrow fuel tank can be bolted in and wiring run to the pump and tank sender. Have to weld the K&N filter housings as they are cracked, 10 years of rally does that!! Quote
beerhead Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Very sexy welds on that tank! Kleenex should sponsor that piece of hot KE! Quote

TRD ke70 Posted October 3, 2010 Author Report Posted October 3, 2010 Thanks guys Well a little further forward today, the aim is to try and get the engine running within the next couple of weeks, that way we can get the head re-torqued. Still waiting on oil cooler fittings(hence only one line on the engine at the moment)oil bypass from Toyota,Thermostat from Toyota,Cam cover rubbers,a sump bung, and fuel hose. I finished off the wiring for the fuel pump and the starter motor. Also welded up the cracks in the air cleaner bases. I have no idea what Tony was doing, but it didn't look like f@$k All!! Test fitted the extractors Fuel pump wiring done. Cam gears fitted Quote

TRD ke70 Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 The plan was to video it starting up for the first time, unless it throws a leg out of bed. :lolcry: I think it's still a couple of weeks way though, have come across a few problem that need sorted first. I think Teddy was also going to do something for you tube on the build as well. Quote

Degreeing of the cams is been done. Accelerator bracket has been made and fitted. New K&N filers are here, just waiting on the pre-filters. And the 1kg battery has arrived, lithium-ion as well, very nice. Quote
