I like it from the outside (except for the wheels). Nice paintwork and i like how they continued the theme into the cabin.

I think the interior design is a bit futuristic - But i guess thats the look they were going for. So they pulled it off well.

Nice and simple bodykit, without any huge wings.

Considering its a Show car, i would have to say well done.

As for the speakers - thats all part of the show car look. Imagine if they put just a few 6x9's and a sub or 2 - your first comment would be "They spent all that money and left a stock stereo"

BTW do you think those gauges are always so close to the guys shoulder?

I was more concerned about the three (yes, 3) bottles of nitrous in the left hand door.

They're probably empty (or fake), but the horrible ideas that they'll give some boy-racers is just painful to think about. Also, why does anyone need more than one head unit????

BTW, yes, it started life as a 3-door Honda Civic (EP-series). Someone doesn't play enough GT4...

I think the whole car just creates more questions than answers. At least the

colour is nice.

even as a show car.....show cars are generally made to show how the product works and performs....and how practical it is to install in your car yourself.

if i saw that show car, i'd be thinking twice about buying alpine stuff...cause:

1. if you need that many speakers to make good sound.......i'd be really wondering why?

2. they havent really attacked the practical side of installing a stereo....putting speakers everywhere you can aint installing a stereo.....getting the best sounds out of them and where they are mounted, all amounts to a good install.

i think we can just about guarantee that this car wasnt built for spl, it was built for the pure fact that.....RICE SELLS!

and drags the ricers in too i suppose.....

this is an american car made for an american market, where having a monster tacho in your auto civic with 3 spoke mags and cut springs and neons makes it a "sweet ride"

i agree with you about the show cars issue. i had a go at geoff seddon (editor of street machine) about constantly publishing these bullshit undriveable elite cars all the time. gee big whoop, totally unregisterable mustang/magna/falcon guards over a tube frame with a 200 grand engine that never gets started

but as he said to me, and as you just said, these type of cars draw big crowds (why?) and with them, big opportunity for advertising and sponsorship. street machine is going to keep featuring elite cars that are full of shit because they make more money than a real street car that alot of hard work and effort has gone into. i think this is bullshit, and just taking advantage of me as a consumer, so i stopped buying it. just like i will now never buy an alpine stereo

I agree with you to an extent. I think the concept of the car was to show off the Alpine product, and make Alpine out to be classy and top notch equipment.

If they had good sound and Db's as part of their objective - then they would have designed it different.

Most of the cars that pull huge Db's don't have custom interiors and all that other ricey crap. 1x Headunit and usally as many 15" subs you can cram in. I've even seen ratchet straps placed around the front and rear windscreens to stop then popping out.

Clearly that is not that road the builders of this car have taken. Instead they have gone for visual presentation and making their product look appealing. Like Jamie said, its this stuff that makes sales and thats what its all about at the end of the day.

I think both you and I would be smart enough to realise that you honestly don't need that many speakers to get good sound.
