my ke70 bounces around alot the stock suspension is crap

i want to chop the springs but this might make it worse is there any think else i can do to stop it, its mainly at the front

also its just my paddick bashers so don't hesitate to tell me to weld up my shockies or somethin

sounds like your shock absorbers are stuffed!

 

if its only a padock basher find someone selling a complete pair of ke70 struts which look like they have good shocks and swap them over with yours. will be cheap as and get you back to bashing padocks.

 

if your keen you can buy some new shocks, could get some cheapies for like 120$/pair or something, but might not be worth it.

 

cutting springs is fine (for bashing padocks) but yeah if your shocks are stuffed then it will make it alot worse.

 

you might want to keep your springs un cut, cause if your having to much fun in the padock your springs might fall out if they arent captive! (cut)

jack it up, shove like 30 tennis balls between the spring coils, lower it back down

 

by far the most dodgy yet hilarious solution i have witnessed when my housemate did it

 

but yeah id say you need new shocks

weld your shocks open

 

will have no movement in suspension so no bouncing

You'd be bound to destroy the car with no movement in the suspension. They're built to absorb impact. Imagine what would happen to your spine, back and neck over time if the suspension was solid mounted....:D

my back hurts even thinking about welded shocks

One good ditch in a paddock and you'll either buckle the shock, shear the weld or crack a strut tower!

are the inserts or oil filled ones?

80 profile tire with about 15-20 pound of pressure would surely fix that little problem

I took the rear springs out of this corona paddock basher I had once. It gave you a head ache after about 5 minutes of driving and you couldn't sit in the back without hitting your head on the roof every 10 seconds. I can't imagine how bad it would be if there were no movement in the front.

My paddock car got around fine on cutties and standard shocks. That is until the bush cups broke off the rear shockies and sprayed oil everywhere. Once replaced with short stroke commodoore shockies Ive had no problems. (343 113) for the rear chocks I used.
