August 24, 200917 yr comment_368405 i got around 300 per tank on the ke70, which was around 40L from memory (havnt filled it up in 60 months, seen as there was no engine in there :bash:) check that there isn't a vacuum leak, the fuel atomises due to the air rushing past, if you don't have enough air the fuel will appear to drip rather than atomise. id buy a new can of aerostart/start-ya-bastard or whatever you call it and at IDLE check for leaks mainly around the base of the carby and the intake ports goodluck with it Report
August 24, 200917 yr comment_368438 If fuel isn't spraying a mist out of the auxiliary venturi, check that they are screwed down properly. Those screws can loosen off on the aisan carbs. Report
August 25, 200917 yr comment_368475 From my experiences it sounds like carby. Not sure of what, though. You'll probably have to figure it out! Report

August 25, 200917 yr comment_368564 i filled up 36L today so that means 36L for 250Kms? 14.4L/100km. Sounds a bit more reasonable and only out by 4L/100km....still a LOT. Report

August 25, 200917 yr comment_368583 14.4L/100km. Sounds a bit more reasonable :bash: 6.9km/L That is pathetic. Time for a good tune and to go through everything, rebuilding the carb. There must be black sooty shit all over the back of your car if you are going through that much juice. I'm surprised the plugs haven't fouled. Report
August 25, 200917 yr comment_368684 my stock 4K KE70 get 11l/100km which i think very very very high fuel consumption(FC)... :P the old carb keep giving out black smoke when accelerate.. checked all spark plug, cables, everything you name it is good in condition... i tried to change another carb(4k also) bcos i have spare one... still the same but a little bit improvement.. no black smoke but still high FC.. =_=||| any suggestion to reduce FC..? August 25, 200917 yr comment_368697 Just head down to the wreckers and find another carb that looks as if its in good nic. even if it is a little poo, its gotta be better than whats on there now. My ke30 with a 4K-H (3K head) and 5spd would usually get 600km to the tank. I do 300km/week just to and from work and would be suprised if i used more than half a tank. and i didnt drive it like a granny either. Report
August 25, 200917 yr comment_368698 whould a 3k carb cause more harm then good on a 4k? aka lean out in top of the rev range? Nah it will be fine. You can always fine tune it a bit by experimenting with main jets. My ke16 ran a stock 4k for a while (with extractors/exhaust). It had a ke30 3k carb on it, and I improved economy and responsiveness by dropping the primary main jet one size and upping the secondary main jet one size. NOTE in the above when talking a jump in jet size I mean increments of 005 like with weber jets. So with say a 120 primary main jet, would have dropped one size to a 115. I can't remember the exact jets I used, but you get the idea. Report
