hello! i want to ask you if the 4age pistons fit straight in to the 5k engine they need any modifications? thanks!!!

Pretty sure you have to bore the engine out a bit. But once bored out you can use the entire piston and rod combo.

you also need to machine the block down to get the compression up!

Piston crown to gudgeon pin distance is smaller on the 4AGE slug, so yes, you need to deck the block quite a bit.

we machined ours down 1-2mm i think, could be more, depends on the compression ratio you want.

 

we thought it was well worth the effort, had a better range of pistons.

the Big End is smaller in size but this hasn't caused any problems, we have had the engine apart a couple of times and it was the first thing we checked.

It was/is all good, checked with a micrometer too.

yeah, but its a done and tried swap. cheap enough if you get parts at a good cost, and do work yaself

does any one know what the compression would be. would it be low enuff to run 16psi of boost ?

You can run 16psi with the stock CR. :D

why do manuals engine combos have CR of 9:1 and autos 8.5:1??
