greenmac80 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 so after much stuffing about i have the fuel guage working. the temp guage and the tach. only the speedo left.. although the fuel gauge registers 3/4 on a full tank so methinks i need to pull it out again and remeasure and adjust. Dropz Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 was it incorrect before? maybe the sender unit? Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 nah its a speco guage with a matched sender.. i must have done my measurement wrong of the tank making the float read incorrectly. Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 nah its a speco guage with a matched sender.. i must have done my measurement wrong of the tank making the float read incorrectly. I had this problem. Wasnt too hard to fix, i then upgraded to a fuel cell. I bought the one with a sender unit, hook up to my speco guage and it doesnt read correctly. Well it wasnt to accurate on the very short last drive it went one :D Cars come a long way, well done! Hope you don't to too busy...might your assistance again Cheers Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 what ya need mate.. shoot me a txt as i lost a bunch o numbers. how yr mate with the commo. bit shitty job but ay. Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 after going for another drive the tank is reading only 1/8th not a quarter. but its surprising how responsive the guage is.. when cornering hard it registers the slosh in the fuel.. stock ones don't seem to do that. so basically i need take the sender out and just lower it a bit. pretty easy its only like 2 screws.. jst a Pain in the ass to remove all the sound system gear and tank... again... i may leave it for now until i feel the need to install my intank fuel pump and regulator. greenmac80 Posted September 19, 2010 Author Report Posted September 19, 2010 ok not much happening... laser cutters have made my 4e to t50 bell plate. also 4e intake and exhaust manifold flanges.... jst need to come up with the money to pay them and i can continue the conversion.. had a few hill runs with the starlet gt boys... and i'm hapy to say that even with a huge lack of horsepower i had no trouble keeping up with a s4 rx7 thru the hills.. couple of random shots. greenmac80 Posted September 22, 2010 Author Report Posted September 22, 2010 ok so this wkend i'm hoping to have.. modified stock steering arms in.. this will return my steering geometry to normal. so my scrub radius will be corrected. bump steer will be corrected and my toe in and out on turns will be corrected. so considering all this the car handles like nothing else already so i'm getting excited about how it will change. also the new setup will net me probably -3degrees camber... that'll be exciting.. i will more than likely wind my camber tops to positive to save my tyres for a bit. also a rear sway bar will be fitted up so i can find if this will help or hinder the cars handling. on my mind atm is also sway bar lockers. this helps prevent the sway bar moving sideways on hard cornering or when your bushes start to flog out a bit. also i'm considering going pedders sports ryders for the rear and r31 skyline sports ryders for the front... one thing at a time tho. i don't' want to make heaps of changes at once.. this car is basically a tester.. if i can get it right on this car it'l give me a good basis for my ke11 to be psycho.!!!!hehehe Quote
greenmac80 Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 so its set.. i've got the mounting clamps sorted for the sway bar.. ( my diff doesn't have the mounts on it ) als the bitch will finally be getting new axle bearings.. well wheel bearings. thanks god! Quote
greenmac80 Posted September 25, 2010 Author Report Posted September 25, 2010 ok so what a headache today was. axle bearings are done so i'm now stoked to have a whisper quiet diff. i fitted up the rear sway bar. urethane bushes. custom crush tubes in the chassis for the brakcets. also changed back to modified stock ke30 steering arms. netted me -2.5 degrees camber. and i also have + 3.5 degrees castor. this car is now unbelievablearound corners. the sway bar has helped massively. and all that camber makes the car 'point and shoot' aorund corners.!! photos tmozzle.
