There's a difference between cutting corners/taking the easy option/being lazy and just plain stupidity. Using a spring and a battery to hold a car up falls into the plain stupidity category.

I agree with 73KE20. I don't like to get underneath a car if it isn't held up by jack stands or car ramps. Not saying I haven't done it before but it's very stupid. But holding up a car with a spring is just plain idiocy.
