June 20, 201016 yr Author comment_446115 so started put my doors back together, cleaned up window regs and installed locking mechanism etc etc and put door rubbers on. Doors hinges all lined up, all good but when I close the door and it locks both sides stick out about 5mm, so not flush with the quarter panel. Think the problem lies with the hooks/strikers that the doors lock on too but ive pushed them in as far as they go and still got a 5mm gap... never was like this and its both sides... June 20, 201016 yr comment_446118 can't Adjust the hinges where they bolt to the door? I know the KE3x/55 stuff has ajustment in the shell for up/down and angular alignment. And the doors have adjustment for in and out. (By adjustment i mean the movable metal plates) Report

You might find that once you have adjusted all you can, a little bit of careful bending will help too. My car is just the same. Report
June 21, 201016 yr comment_446399 Don't have the front guards on yet do you? If so, remove them so you can get to the hinges and attempt to re-align it again, making sure the door hasnt dropped vertically as I bet this is where your main issue will lie. Edited June 21, 201016 yr by Raven Report
June 21, 201016 yr Author comment_446410 Thanks guys all good now, was my door rubbers, didnt have them on properly, had the LH rubber on the drivers side and RH rubber on the passenger side DOH! was causing them to scrunch up on the hinge side of the doors. Yea also as the passenger side was a KE20 door made to fit its never going to be perfect as its from a different car let alone a sedan version... Plan to find a genuine KE25 door and replace it at some stage.... Yea guards are sikaflexed on, not going no where but I can still manage to get in and un-do the bolts with a spanner, just takes a bit more effort :jamie: but the door is lined up not going anywhere... Now when you close the door it clicks in and then you push it again and it locks in so I'm happy... in other news got some full orange indicator lenses from my mate dave and he also gave me a micro TE27 Levin :jamie: Report
June 22, 201016 yr comment_446478 hey tally, also you can get new kits for the hinges to rebuild them and tighten them up as they would have worn and sagged after 30 odd years, some guy in the US makes them up for about $30 a side, pm me for details ill see if i can find it... Report
June 27, 201016 yr Author comment_447815 Update. Got some JDM calipers and vented rotors for this from Touge Boy. Should be more then enough to stop the car well. Cleaned up my K50 gearbox today, came up nice and clean. Hopefully get roof lining sorted this week, really only thing holding me back. Got number to an auto trimmer so see what he can do for me... Heard Penrite gear oil is good? July 2, 201016 yr comment_449005 Looking great Tally K & H and no doubt others make a dedicated window sealant. Basically you install the window, then lift up the edge of your nice soft rubber, and pump it underneath the seal from a cartridge gun, till it starts to ooze out. Keep working your way around. It never sets, and never leaks! Report
