Hermit Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Hi all Is there many people out there who have fitted 17in wheels on a ke-70? Ive managed to do it, and love the look, but just wondering how many "modifications" youve had to make. Me and my brother had to go to town with an angle grinder and hammer haha. Anyway. some pics (if they work): Cheers, Jordan. Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 before i opened the thread i thought itd look shit, but it isnt too bad. people opt for 13's/14's because they can go lower. Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 what width are they? Quote
flamingheads Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Legally 14" rims with 60 tires are the biggest you can go as I found out. Just so you know. Quote
nickyboy Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Legally 14" rims with 60 tires are the biggest you can go as I found out. Just so you know. 15s you mean... stock is 13. even 15 is to big on a 70 imo Quote
Johno Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I think the max you can go legally is 2" bigger than what is stock. If your car was factory fitted with 15"s then you could have 17"s legally. I don't mind it, at least you can still get over speed humps and have the guards on the tires :laff: Quote
Jason Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Looks silly, and I can see the amusingly small drum brake heh Quote
ke71-rolla Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I prefer the look of 13's or 14's with larger profile, keep it old schoooool! I'm runnign 15's with a 50 profile, and i rkn the rims are too big, and not enough tyre for my liking. But yeah I'm surprised u got 17;s onto the ke70!!! Doesn't look as bad as i would have thought, except for the tiny breaks hehehe :laff: Quote
Chief Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 there are two main things that shit me with the idea of those rims on the car first of all they are 3 spoke rims lol there is no rim i don't like more lol and 17's would look shite house on a ke70. but man the combination of the rims and the car look bloody awsume ayee good work man i didnt think i would ever see three spoke rims that look good but there they are lol Good Stuff!! Sydney spec eh. IMO 17s on a KE is such disgusting vomit inducing look. Fail Fail Fail. Check KPROLNs' cars out. He generally does em up with 17s then sells em to people who like that look. Id go to 16s if I went for bigger brakes. If you have 17s on a KE70 and arent running 320mm rotors, whats the point. If you increase the rolling diameter the car gets slower instantly. Not to mention they will scrub if you go low and you will not be able to use rims with a decent offset. Most 17s are designed for FWD cars so the offset is all wrong, and you must use big spacers (as it looks like you have). There is no performance gain from the bigger rolling diameter on an e7 chassis, unless your pushing 200+rwkw and are trying to get that to the ground, and have the car be smoother and more high speed capable. It seems to be a Sydney thing. Edited April 23, 2010 by LittleRedSpirit Quote

Or you bought it off the guy who bought it off him... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=28136 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=24457 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=22071 Which one you got? agius Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 personaly i love the 17" rim look the lower the car sits on the 17's the more sexy it looks when its time to buy rims for my KE35 ill be getn 17's no doubt. check this sexy thing out: Quote
Hermit Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Hey guys, thanks for the replies. This car is my daily driver, so I'm not too worried about performance losses lol. Its still pretty high off the ground, but the wheels sit up in the guards nicely, So I think It looks good. I was looking at smaller wheels, but couldnt find any I liked, and they were all overpriced. These cost me 180 with tyres, so couldnt say no! Also, I wasnt a big fan of 3 spoke wheels either, but was surprised just how well these suited.undersandably there not to everyones taste, but its my car so I'll do it to my tase, no matter how bad my taste may be.:laff: Quote
coln72 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Its your car - do what you want. If others don't like it, to bad. Quote
