i don't particularly mind spelling mistakes.I'm not the greatest speller myself.

its sentence structure, or lack of that annoys me. or more specifically lack of effort in posts.

eg:

topic title: ke11

first post:

carb is leaking fuel need to fix to get to work any help appreciated dan

FAIL!

It amazes me how bad other forums can get.

If you read the posting rules on Toymods it seems like a legal dictionary!

Wow, two pages in and I haven't been sledged yet for being the resident spelling/ grammar Nazi. :D

Once upon a time I was a moderator in the sale area of the forum.

It didnt last long, I kept correcting spelling errors in peoples posts haha.

I hate spelling mistakes as much as Redwarf but I usually just bite my tongue....

I particularly hate some of the gaffes that you read in the paper and hear on the news; it's certainly on the rise and when a "Journalist" can't use the language correct, surely that reflects problems with how we educate people?

journalists annoy me in general.

in fact the entire "news" .....industry? do you call it an industry? annoys me something chronic. to the point where i can't watch the news as i just get so frustrated! even reading the news websites its just full of garbage.

i just get frustrated with the way they exadurate things, word things to sound so dramatic, whilts not actually telling you any facts.

and don't get me started on the interviews with politicians/people that are shown on TV, in the floods some moronic journalist asked julia guilard:

"So julia, this flood, what do you think the effect will be on australia? in terms of the economy?"

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!!! and what sort of answer did they expect on the spot, from the front man/woman of the political party, who had no way of even telling?

of course julia answers with some equally BS reply. and the viewers (ie me) have gained no knowledge what so ever.

just filling up our TV with crap!!!

ok thats my rant, back to drinking coffee and enginereing something.

ke70dave... <---- ol' fart like me!!

I can't stand TV, it is airhead drivel for dumb people and worst of all, its not interactive! You have to sit there like a dummy while they lecture you, as bad as primary school. I read the online newspapers where you can add comments, and often there is more coment and insight from the people writing in than any journalist seems to be able to manage these days. I notice they usually DON'T have comments on an article about a politician... funny that, we're not allowed to tell them what we think!

If we lose the internet it will be a great crash in the rate of education/information sharing of the civilised world.
