I think it came in as a evaluation car with Toyota or something originally so its been here all its life.. i forget what the story was. You can see the fender mirrors were taken off, there is covers on the tops of the guards, so Toyota probably did that to make it legal with the rules of the day. As for paint. No idea. fusion Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Share Posted April 23, 2011 So unfortunately things have been delayed a bit in relation to parts, but no biggie. Don't have the cash or time at the moment to for the plans anyways 1) Got an AE71 crossmember, rack and steering coloum. Planning to use this for the rack and pinon conversion by welding on new engine mounts. Rather play with engine mounts than steering geometry. Thanks Luke! 2) Got new steering rack bushes, boots, rack ends, adjustable tie rod ends on the way. Along with a quaife rack (still can't get the hang of the spelling :happy: ). Before the conversion happens, the rack will be sent off the the above goodies and fully rebuilt / setup properly. Also found a great guy who is going to help with rust repairs in the boot floor, boot seal and rear lower quarter panels. I will also be getting him to do the steering conversion after Regency. Should hopefully happen in 2 weeks time. Depending if I am in Adelaide or not . . . So these plans, along with some coilovers, should see the front end completed to the specs I want it pretty much for now. It was awaiting bolt on guards but the unfortunate happened and now I'm looking for a TE71 liftback shell to swap the goodies into.
