yeah i totally agree,

there's gotta at least be some line to divide a hoon from some one accidentally spinning there front wheel drive car in a patch of oil,

due to taking off fast to avoid a 2 or more car pile up..

Unfortunately given this "Taking off too fast to prevent a 2 car pile up" Police would have suggested to wait for a safer gap in traffic to take off at a lower speed. I do not agree with the article, I'm just saying.

Cheers, Jake.

EDIT: When I say I don't agree with the article, I meant police lol. Wasn't thinking straight.

i totally understand even though you don't agree on the cops, (which i don't eather)

i will still say, your right the police would of suggested for him to wait for a safer gap in the traffic.. and just give him a measly fine for it

not impound his car for 30 days.

Unfortunately due to those select few who choose to be irresponsible with their cars, we, the majority, will suffer. Also, good luck when it comes to your word against a police officers. Yes, they are human and yes, they do make mistakes, but when it comes to a situation where the law is involved, who's word would you take?

Cheers, Jake.

i'd say these laws are in place to allow police officers to get dangerous drivers off the roads and it's up to the issuing officer to provide a judgement. however if this judgment is wrong then there is no form of appeal. in a system like this there will always be people having to deal with the consequences of a crime they didn't commit.

still, all things in consideration. if you're going for small gaps in front of two cars when the road is wet then you probably aren't the safest driver on the road.

maybe if people stop racing on the streets they wouldn't of made laws so harsh .. I am guilty of doin th same few years ago but have no excuse now cause there so many car events to have fun at

+1 lol.

true true, but his 30 years old, his infringement history would prove that his an unsafe driver..

but this is his first offense..

Its a poor law that will be abused by Police, get used to up their monthly quotas and will make life very dificult for the wrong people.

It used to be that "there is no crime without a victim," but having given away our lives to the Govt we suffer under the slavery of victim-less 'rules' as distinct from crime and justice.

When you burn the current system, get rid of the total welfare state mentality and take resposibility back from the parasites then a problem like hooning will be solved by common law means, as it used to be.

Someone will take a photograph on their cellphone and take the guy to Court privately to show he was a victim of the behaviour. He will be awarded damages and as the victim he would set out the punishment with the Court's approval.

That is how our ancestors built this civilisation we have been responsible for destroying. The upcoming civilisation, the Chinese one, may be quite different.

soccer mums in their mazda 3's with their foot flat to the floor coming out of carparks, old guys driving bmws at a million miles an hour, but will never get caught. as they arent drifting and probably wont even have a cop look at them twice.

i can see from the cops point of view, screeching of tyres is evidence of driving too fast. weather it be wet conditions or dry. where as it would be difficult to prove that "someone looked like they were driving too fast" with no real evidence.

unfortunately for this guy, the laws went against him and he got owned.

on the flip side it is very easy to spin the wheels in a FWD, especially in the wet, so maybe the guy was completely innocent, who knows.

in this case, if the article is somewhat accurate, the cop may have been power tripping, making an example of him. or maybe the article isn't accurate, and the dude was really rude to the cop and brought it upon himself. who knows.

in my opinion there is far to much handing out tickets, and not enough investigation work into working out if a crime/offense was actually committed. seems to be a case of, we'll give you the ticket, and if you don't like it go and fight.

it should be "we will investigate the entire scenario before we give you a ticket, so as we don't waste your time, money or license points, or give you a bad reputation on you record". pft who am i kidding, wouldn't want to investigate things properly! handing out tickets gets instant money!
