I've been thinking about the songs I listen to (so much different to you guys :kiwi: ) but I was driving along yesterday and the matrix song came on, and I thought to myself, YEP that's MY FY song :) - everytime it comes on I crank it up and deafen my passengers ;) Lesley ;)

*this is a sad spotted* On Wednesday night I was coming back from KFC :kiwi: (at Glenelg) and heading back up to the Adelaide Hills and I passed an accident, that had obviously JUST happened. I did a U-turn and offered assistance, luckily no one was seriously hurt but the two cars involved were both write offs I'm thinking. One of the cars was a big ass hi-lux with a freaking great big bull bar on it (why you need one of those in a metropolitan area is beyond me) the car it hit was a itty bitty rolla 4 door hatch (I'm not sure of the model but a picture of a similar car is below) driven by a young female P-Plater with her boyfriend in the passenger seat, The corolla was in effect T-boned the windows were all cracked, smashed and it was scary to see. On the up side, the corolla that got hit stood up well, the roof wasn't badly buckled and although the car was badly hit, the integrity of the frame held, the passenger, who was on the side that got hit didn't have a scratch on him. Lucky, lucky people. Lesley

When I went to the motorshow in Adelaide last week, I had a look at the WRX's, but they didn't look like the above ones, but I did take a piccy of the engine bay, :kiwi: Engine bay of the subaru :)

I also had a Laser Hatch, that we called VIXEN, because she was a foxy lady :kiwi: When I sold her, the new owner asked what it's name was, and I told her it was actually a SHE and told her, her name and why she was called that, I still see the old gal (the car, not the new owner) about fairly regularly and I wave, I did manage to catch up with the owner at the supermarket and she's continued calling the car Vixen :) ;)

my proudest achievement would be buying our own business and actually making a profit in the first year, turning the business around, not having to advertise because we have such a good reputation, considering when we bought it it was crappy, we now employ 5 people and our 1st anniversary is coming up in 12 days :) another on par with the above would be getting married and having the wedding and man of my dreams, (not necesarily in that order) it was AWESOME! ;)

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful choc fest (and if you went away all got home safely). Lesley :)

Our MR2 is called REAPER, and my old Bluebird was called BINKY - if you're a Terry Pratchett fan this doesn't need explaining (our dog is called Gaspode!!!!), In the Discworld series, There was a book called Hogfather, and Binky was the Reaper Man's Horse (a white horse) hence my bluebird is called Binky and the MR2 is Reaper. I'm still thinking of a name for my rolla (I secretly call her bubby when I give her hugs) - when I first bought her she was going to be a he, but I changed my mind :) So still trying to create an apt name. Lesley ;)

SoulSearcher replied to Redwarf's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
that was a stupid crash, he's an idiot! (although... the people who planned the test track should have put the witches hats further away from the bollards!) Lesley  -
I'm in!!!!!! I tried to vote but it wouldn't let me  if it's after 6.00pm on a Saturday (we don't close until 5.00pm) or on a sunday I have 4 more people who want to go, and depending on the actual date there will be 2 more (If I have the kids on that weekend).

What Would You Add To Your Car
SoulSearcher replied to SoulSearcher's topic in Automotive Discussion
Did someone say a start button??!!! WELL, news just in (via my inbox from Toyota)... "Toyota will launch the all-new Corolla hatch and sedan in Australia in the second quarter of 2007, retaining the Corolla nameplate for both body styles. The dynamic design and striking features of the hatch are due to the "inside out" philosophy adopted by designers. This approach focused on providing maximum useable interior space with high levels of passenger comfort. Innovative interior features include an elegant, sculpted console that raises the gear lever and other controls to a near perfect ergonomic height. On the outside, the hatch has a strong, dynamic appearance that expresses its driving character. The wide body and track give a stable look and the sharply defined architecture of the car creates a crisp, fresh feel. Power will come from an all-new 1.8-litre dual VVT-i engine, which can be matched to a new six-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic with a sporty gated shift. High-tech features include the availability of up to seven airbags, Smart Entry and Push Button Start on some models." Lesley :D -
So I Had To Act The Dumb Blonde Today....
SoulSearcher replied to SoulSearcher's topic in SA / Adelaide
yes, I know I have one (remember I said I had to *act* dumb?) :D but technically it's not a blow off valve, all it is, is a pipe that breathes/vents  that's what I pointed out to the policeman and he told me that it wasn't a blow off valve LOL!!! Probably because it doesn't look like the usually greddy BOV  I've already spoken to Toyota, and they're writing a letter for me, so I can keep it in my glove box just in case there is a next time. Lesley :) -
spotted Chet (I think) powder blue rolla (with a white rollaclub sticker!) cruising up the freeway tonight about 10.30pm :D I honked and waved and got flashed back  gee we're a friendly bunch! Lesley :hmm:

So I Had To Act The Dumb Blonde Today....
SoulSearcher replied to SoulSearcher's topic in SA / Adelaide
well Clint, considering this is only the 3rd blonde moment in the last year I think I'm doing pretty well, and plus, well shameful as it is, I know how to use the dumb blonde to advantage and I do employ it occasionally, but at least I admit to it!!!! AND the clincher - if I had have reacted any other way, I would have been defected! Lesley :D -
AAAhhhhhh *breathe* So I was driving tonight and I changed from 3rd to 2nd to zoom pssshht through the round about and I saw a police car on the side of the road, I checked my speed and I was ok, but then he pulled out behind me, and turned on his lights and pulled me over!!! He said "where's your blow off valve" ME; Huh? I don't have one... Him: yes you do, if it makes the psshht noise you have a blow off valve and they're illegal. Me: I don't have one, this is all factory standard!!! him: how long have you had the car? me: about a year... him: well someone some time has put on a blow off valve *looking under the bonnet* if I could only find where they've hidden it. me: *being helpful* well, this engine is pretty much brand new, and this piping here *points* I had put back on because it had , what do they call it, oh, yeah, a pod thingy and I wanted it stock so they put it all back together for me, and I've only had this engine for about 5,000klms and the only thing that makes noise is that: *points to the wannabe blow off valve with the speccy blue filter on top* but the reason that's on there is because there was an oil leak and the filter stops it making a mess, see you can see a bit of oil down there.... him: well *still looking* that's not a blow off valve, you do know that I could defect you? me: but I don't HAVE A BLOW OFF VALVE *stomps foot* him: ma'm do you have your licence? me: uhhh yeah him *still looking* me: can I please borrow your torch? him: shines torch in my purse me: look, I have the car regularly serviced at mount barker, if I had an illegal blow off valve, it would void my warranty! him: well, they're not good for the environment, they're not good for the car, and if they're plumbed back they don't make a noise me: I'm telling you I don't HAVE A BLOW OFF VALVE!!!!!!! I can take it to Toyota tomorrow to get checked out, but I don't have one! My car is factory standard! him: do you still live at this address? me: yes him: well you don't look like a hoon me: *giggle* well, I may be a little bit of a hoon, I do love my car *flutters eyelashes* :D him: well, hmmmm. if I knew more about these things I'd defect you me: well, the car is due for a service, I'll talk to Howard! ====== I drove to the shop and kaked myself laughing, and rang my guy at Toyota and told them I needed a letter saying my car was factory standard and as it's factory standard I can't be defected and they said they'll get onto it for me tomorrow! ====== Lesley  glad to be a girl!

I'll go back and click on some things..... :P ok, next was a fish...I just can't be bothered with the time it takes to load up.....
