  1. Try technotoytuning.com They have a listing for ke70 coilovers, they look the same as the ae86 one in the picture but i have asked them ans the said they have the different stub axle sizes for the KE and AE, depends how much you want to spend.
  2. Can anyone help me with this... I want to know if the ae86 hub and bearing set up is the same as anything else, e.g corona or kE70/ae71 but just has a different bearing size? I have been looking at the coilover setups, as i want to upgrade on my ae71 and i have the hubs for the ae71 and the xt130. I want to go with the s4 rx7 calipers and vented rotors to keep the unsprung mass down so it handles better as i don't like the idea of the peugeot/hilux setup (too much modifying). If it possible to buy new hubs for the ae86 that woulds be good to know! Any help will be great
  3. um find one from a wreckers... If the front left door doesn't have a spot for the mirror it may have had a door swap or something?
  4. Trev, it seems your keen to find this as well?! It's an actual plastic badge much like the toyota/seca badge plastic kind, not a stick type. from what i remember it was square and sat on the left side of the hatch, i was talking to a guy at auto barn and he said he had on his car, so i know they do exist!
  5. I'm positive it was on a ae82 twin cam seca, a red one but the colour doesn't really matter. i have been searching for old toyota brochures on the net and have found some but none with the seca in it. It may have been a special dealer badge or something where they put out their own special edition, with the only different/"special" thing about it was a badge and decal sticker kind of crap! anyway the search continues.. :glare:
  6. nope its none of these, i have only seen one in real life and one on the net, i googled something some time ago and came across it, i think it was a scanned image of an original Toyota brochure or something, but now can't find it... :hmm: :bash:
  7. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has pics of any of the AE82 badges, i have a twin cam seca and have seen a different or "special" badge on the left side of a seca hatch, i was wondering if anyone knows what exactly it is and if they have a pic of one?
  8. Thanks guys, i'm planning on putting the engine into my ae71, i only just got my manual conversion (awaiting the tail shaft), so i thought i'd stick with the T50 for a while and hopefully i won't brake it as i don't plan on clutch kickin/drifting or dragging it down the quarter mile.
  9. Is it possible to use the ae71 t50 flywheel on a 4agze? or am i only able use the 4age flywheel? which is most commonly used/best to use as i have read the BT 20v is lighter, but i'm wondering if the bolt pattern is the same?
  10. Billzilla's page says you can run up to 264deg cams on the stock ecu, but as said before it may not give the maximum performance of the cams. Not sure if you have done a cold air intake and exhaust system, i'd suggest a shielded 3A racing pod (come 2nd in filtration and 1st in flow in Autosalon's testing-can't get much better than that), GOOD headers (I have RS*R)-high flow cat and a 2-2&1/4" straight through system to a nice sport muffler (not a cannon!). This is what i have done to my AE82 seca and it goes a lot better, also has nice induction and exhaust note. Thats my 2cents
  11. No they don't use 13's, mostly 14's and 15's because its good performance and cost affective way to achieve better handling, i run 16 inch sportivo rims on my ae82 seca with 45 series tyres and it is more direst as you say but at the same time a little more harsh too because of the high tyre pressure. I just think the profile of the tyre you will have to run on a ke will be like a rubber band and will handle bad, while the wheels and tyres will cost as much as the car is worth.
  12. I'm sorry but if you have been involved in motor sport for over 20 years, i'm sure you would realize that such race cars as V8 super cars DO NOT run such wheel sizes as 18's with extreme low profile tyres, as you would need to on a Ke corolla, this proves the fact that low profile tyres DO NOT handle as well as you think they do! It would be harsh and handle like shite, honestly 15's-max 16's, if you want more rubber on the road go wider even if you have to mini tub it as my mate will do with his datto ute, which is built for hill climb (hence cornering). You could be the one to find out how wide you can go and let every one else know!
  13. yeah but if you replaced them they wouldn't have broken!
  14. ke70dave, i tested the both shocks before i put them in and they both pushed in and pulled out slow so thought they would be fine. I personally think the suspension just needs a custom spring made to make it stiffer. i need custom hoses made up anyway cos the ones on there now are perishing, i guess ABS brakes would be able to make them up for me? any other suggestions? i need the hard lines too as the doosh bag that replaced the original hoses strangled the dam thing when they did it back up. :bash: so out came the vice grips to undo, and mangle the shite out of them. Any idea of what master cylinder to use? i have been told Pajero MC, but i was thinking xt130 corona cos thats the brakes I'm using, as i was going to convert to corona diff with disc brake, even though its a borg warner still.
  15. okay heres the pics of my brake set up, this is the left hand side. thanks
  16. I'm pretty sure they are horizontal and face toward the strut/engine. I did give them a hone and put a seal kit through the calipers before i put them on the car, and the original brakes felt heaps tighter with no sponge, i'm putting it down to the calipers being bigger etc, i also have the feeling i should sell this set up and go with something else like the rx7 calipers and coil overs, any suggestions? i don't want to spend heaps though... :hmm:
  17. Hi all Does anyone know if the AE86 hubs are the same as the xt130 hubs, being the off set if that is possible and the bearing size? I have got the corona front end with ae71 springs with 1 coil cut to get the right ride height but its too soft (wollowy). Also the brake pedal is still soft at first but if I give it another quick pump it pumps up nice and hard, i have blead them twice, so if it was like that all the time i would be happy with them. I thought the MC might not be big enough??? As for the suspension how can i stiffen it? or if i bought AJPS coil overs could i use the xt130 twin piston brakes? All help is appreciated.
  18. Just wondering what you did fuel system wise? i.e. surge tank or modified standard tank?
  19. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has had or knows of anyone that has purchased any of the Ultra Racing products, mainly the sway bars, strut brace and front member brace. I have found them on ebay but i'm wary of the imitations they have pointed out on the Ultra Racing web site as one sellers name is too close to that stated on the site. Thanks
  20. I thought that was the rule in S.A as well, and i'm correct, just found it, if it anyone needs it heres the link raising or lowering a vehicle
  21. yeah sam_Q i thought that but my mate tells me its worth putting it behind a 4agze, but i guess if i can't get an adapter its not worth it, looks like a w55 from a celica or the like is the bee's knee's then!
  22. I want one for the w50 because thats the steel case box, the other w55-58 is not a steel box. Some may have a steel plate in between the 2 sections but are not a 'steel case'.
  23. I found some pictures of the one i mean and hopefully you can see what i mean! found pics on this site w5* supra box w50 steel case AS you can see the bolt holes on the mounting face are different, i assume the bell housing in the above link wouldn't work?
  24. I guess so, i was just told and read that they were out of the old celica's, i guess they could have come in the supra as well. i think its a w55 but it definitely has different bolt spacing.
  25. Hi every one, Just wanting to find out if there is such a bell housing for a 4A to celica steel case 5 speed? as i have one available to me but need a bell housing! I know there are the ones available for the w56/7/8 etc but they have a different bolt pattern on the mounting face. Any helnp is well appreciated!
