  1. Thats what I'm doing with my gauges! but I haven't quite figured it out yet how to get the gauge facing to stay in so it looks factory :hmm:
  2. ok so thats how its done! i'll try to hunt one down on the net, any other tips will be helpful!
  3. I managed to pick up a JDM rwd manifold so going with that! Has any one mounted the sc on the other/exhaust side of the motor before? obviously use heat shielding etc relocate alternator as well, I thought this would have less cooler piping running around the engine bay.
  4. ugly as sin! looks like its in good condition though!
  5. I just found this on car sales, don't know where you live but worth a look http://www.carsales....ice:Min,Max~0.5 oh and this http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/toyota-corolla-1989-12515535?base=1216&vertical=Car&eapi=2&Page=3&sort=~Year&cr=33&__N=1246%201247%201252%201282%204294962861%204294962707%201216&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,Max~0.5
  6. Depending on rust etc, i wouldn't pay more than 1800-2000, its done a lot of K's and needs an exhaust system, probably rego too? I payed 3200 for my twin cam seca about 6 years ago and was in very good condition and had 216000 k's when I bought it and now has done 297000 and is due for a few things to be done such as a complete engine seal kit, power steering hoses, AC service and gearbox re-sealing. I have already over the last few years replaced the shocks (kyb) and springs (low king springs), RS*R headers stainless mandrel bent straight through to rear muffler system, just recently done all 4 engine mounts and complete front end bushings using super pro's. It feels a hell of a lot better to drive as its nice and tight. So keep in mind that you may have to do these things down the track, I don't know exactly how much I have spent on up keep but it has been a fair bit! Good luck with it as I hope its in good condition!
  7. Hi Vic, Welcome to Rollaclub, that's good to hear as that's a fair good amount of power. I read this article and based my decision on this and i got the cooler for like $70 posted to me. The inter-cooler from the model before didn't flow as well because it had the inlet and outlet on the same side and was about double the size of the 4agze top mount. The JZA70 is thicker etc bargain mine was i think! I was going to run something like this guy has on his mr2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZpYcluVOSU also has his build thread http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/showthread.php?61141-Daves-AW11-MR2-6-Speed-SC14 awesome idea i think!
  8. Thanks! If you could still measure it when you get back there at some stage i would be thankful it doesn't matter when, but this gives me some idea. I just measured the ae82 one I have and thats just over 2.5inches so it may work.
  9. No one can help me??? I have got an ae82 one but don't know if it's the correct length?
  10. Thanks Justin, i thought that would be the case, so keen to get this finished and in the car along with the motor of course! But not sure how long that's going to take...
  11. Cool thanks Ben-89, i went for the 3.89 as after talking with Graham he swayed me to this cos I'll be doing a few little trips in it I think. Thanks for the input guys
  12. Can some one measure the length of the push rod between the slave and the clutch fork on an AE71? I bought a new one as I didn't have one with the manual conversion I bought. Thanks
  13. yeah I know its not much but it can make a difference, I know I could have gone T series or hilux or something else but I wanted lsd with easily available ratio's thats not going to break and 4 wheel disc that matched front to rear of which I could get parts cheap and easily so that's why I went for this set up, its going to cost around 1500-2000 once I have finished buying all the parts and paid for the engineering (welding & machining) side of things. I'm getting Graham at Boss differentials to do the work as he does lots for drag, drift & street cars.
  14. Hi Brayden, Nice ae71 a little jealous! and at an absolute steal too! I paid way too much for mine come to think of it ($2200 registered etc), same as yours but it did come with new carpet and alot of rust free panel sections and 14inch csx style wheels from the corona. The guy had already had the front end off and repainted a few parts and fish oiled the crap out of the seals and problem areas that are prone to rust, that is a must when you get around to it! Noooooo don't do the fender mirrors! I don't think they suit the ae71's, I bought an Aunger rear louvre and brand new Aunger head light protectors for that granny spec look! (not that that's what your after) I managed to find a complete manual conversion too, from searching the for sale threads constantly. be patient because they do pop up. Thank goodness you didn't swap for the 180sx, theres enough of them around! haha Jason
  15. Hi all, I know its been done to death but I want to know what ratio to go for 3.89 or 4.11? I'm having a custom diff made which is a combination of...wait for it! A commodore/r31 centre housing (due to diff gears), ke70 axle housings, ef/el falcon lsd centre, r31 crown and pinion ratio's, ef/el axles shortened and re-splined and ef/el brakes (5 stud). I'm going to be running a 4agze, jdm big port rwd inlet, sc14, T50 (till it lets me know I shouldn't be) and some other goodies! I want good highway cruise rpm (so not screaming its guts out) but also want good acceleration, in saying that I don't want 1st gear to be rendered useless cos its too short, so I used gear calculator and the difference in RPM between the 4.11 and 3.89 is about 150RPM at 100km/h (obviously 150rpm lower for 3.89). Would this minimal difference be so noticeable if using it as a street car and for the odd hill climb? if not would it be 4.11 all the way!?
  16. ok thanks both of you, destroyer i have these https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ae86/roll-center-adjusters-ae86-corolla and they have the raised bit in the centre which is like and offset lobe thing. Whereas the cusco ones are flat much like the AJPS ones http://ajps.com.au/parts/rca_ncrca.php so they would fit. If the T3 rca's were flat in the centre they would fit but wouldn't be as strong apparently as they are completely alloy and don't have the steel locating collar/dowel thing.
  17. Hi, I have the Ae86 bc coilovers (these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BC-Racing-Coilovers-suit-TOYOTA-SPRINTER-AE86-/200751998308?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ebdc06564#ht_2352wt_883) I'm wondering if I need the roll centre adjusters I bought from T3? as the coilovers are the base adjustable type and I'm thinking if i set them at the lowest legal height I won't need the RCA's? Am I correct in thinking this? Also the T3 RCA's don't fit onto the BC coilover spindles as the RCA's are designed off the original ae86 mount and apparently the BC's are a "generic" spindle so i suppose it could be the same as silvia's etc. If I do need to use them i either need to get the rca's machined or buy/swap for some others (AJPS maybe). any advice on this matter would be great.
  18. Hi all, Just wondering how important the rear water housing is to have on the back of the head (see the link)? its got 2 sensors in it and out let etc. the motor I have doesn't have one on it and I was wondering if I could just blank it off and have the sensors elsewhere? The wreckers have one but they said the bolts felt like they were going to snap when trying to remove it. Any help or ideas are appreciated! http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/parts-wanted/51963-flat-type-rear-water-outlet-4age.html Thanks
  19. I got one of the Drift branded deep dish ones from Autobarn, not yet fitted but feels nice. Also it looks even nicer in the pic, as all the ones i went through in shop did not have the nice smooth matte finish on the spokes, they were a black brushed look but it was cheap and felt good. http://www.shopdrift.com/content/images/acc_sw_suede_yellow.jpg As for wheel, i think its a fake, even the old/second hand nardi wheels I've seen look better made than that oh and I'm just waiting for the jokes about the things that are cheap and feel good! :lmao:
  20. hey spence i found the paint codes for the mazda mps range, they have very nice paint and look so good in the sun! velocity red, snow flake white pearl or aurora blue are nice, but I think its nice to keep it the basic original colour but with a slight twist/variation, as yours is white I'd go for the snow white pearl or crystal white pearl metallic, google the colours and check them out! 3 MPS colours: Gen 1: Cosmic Blue - 34M Aurora Blue - 34J True Red - A4A Black Mica - 16W Metro Grey - 36C Gen 2: Celestial Blue - 38J Velocity Red - 27A Black Mica - 16W Aluminium Metallic - 38P Crystal White Pearl Metallic - 34K (soon we hope) 6 MPS colours: Velocity Red -27A Black Mica - 16W Titanium Grey - 30B Snow Flake White Pearl - 25D (requires a pearl tint) Radiant Ebony - 28W Liquid Silver - 30S
  21. get the car soda blasted not sand blasted, I used this company for my alloy wheels and was a great result http://www.adelaidesodablasting.com/, may be a bit dearer but its very good result.
  22. "I've done a burnout with this diff and it span one wheel all the way to third.. when jacked up only the wheel that is being spun will turn, the opposite side stays still." You just answered your own question, if one wheel spins its open, well if it WAS an LSD it is a shagged one. blueKsev not necessarily as with an open diff centre if both wheels are off the ground and its in gear with the engine running the so called "drive wheel" can be spinning and the other can stay still or barely turn at all.
  23. I'm running the sportivo corolla wheels and the offset is a little to high but they still fit with the right tires, they're heaps wide but i think they look good. I'm only running lowered king springs though.
  24. HI all, Whats the smallest sc pulley i would want to run on an sc14 with a stock ae92 4agze crank pulley? I want it to be reliable and not destroy the Teflon coating on the lobes and from what i have read nothing over 10,000rpm seems to be the norm. So this leaves the question of what size sc pulley i need? :hmm: clutched or fixed doesn't matter. Any ideas's? even better if anyone has this setup let me know what it runs like, as its going to be a hill climber/tarmac rally kind of car. SORRY wrong area, mods can you please move this to the AE** corolla area if possible :bash:
