  1. Cheers guys, No rust or anything like that. My new plan is to dig up some of the tar etc and sikaflex anything that looks remotely suss. I've had less trouble with leaky yachts for christ sake!
  2. Thanks guys, I have hose tested all those spots- it's something less obvious unfortunately :(
  3. Hi there guys As the title says I can't for the life of me find this LEAK!! It's a ke30 4 door, I have tried the torch test, the hose test and I can't find reference to it being a common problem? It only comes into the two side compartments (where the jack is), not the wheel well, and once it's in it stays there til I empty it. The only time it leaks is when I drive in the rain, not when I wash it etc, so I'm thinking there are joins that open up under pressure? The real killer was last night I got home, the compartments were full and yet there was no water trail anywhere (dry dust where I thought it was coming from :bash: ) I see only 2 options-Go crazy with sikaflex, or drill drainage holes. Neither of which I want to do HELP MUCH APPRECIATED
  4. I would do dirty things for this car!
  5. NICE, rear bar damaged or left off on purpose?
  6. *Minor thread hijack, regarding values of ke10/11. I spotted one, the owner wants to sell and it will cost me $500 by the time I trailer it home. It's all there in very average original condition with a bit of rust in the rear sills, tires are wrecked and engine hasn't started in years. I only checked it out briefly because the guy originally said he wasn't selling- I'm assuming that even if everything possible is wrecked, It's worth that in parts alone? (khana car?) cheers
  7. The important thing to remember with your efi system is that I would gladly take it off your hands :laff:
  8. And the colour coded blinds! I'm not sure on the colour of the wheels but they are definitely a better rim. The condition and detailing everywhere is outstanding!
  9. Fluro boardies *check, Retro skateboard *check Fixie *check Yes I am serious :laff:
  10. The weight of the steering isn't an issue, and yeah there are a tonne of mods to make it handle better. I am talking purely about the amount of turns of the wheel it takes to get a ke30 to full lock. -modern cars I have driven take far less-
  11. Nisrola, I understand you have put a lot of money into your car, and your opinion is that the steering box does not let it down? I was just thinking about the steering box issue today. There are a lot of people on here that have made ke30's handle well but none go into detail about the steering box. What's the go? I know they can be loose etc, but I see the big issue as the gearing in them (too many turns to get lock) cheers for your thoughts.
  12. Depends where you are, there are heaps of places that sell online and Auto barn etc.. You don't necessarily have to get ones that are listed for your car, just measure the pin size (where the leafs attach to the diff) -same as old Holdens- Installation is simply undoing the U bolts and replacing with longer ones that come with the kit. So spanner, jack and maybe a drill (new U-bolts could be a bit thicker diameter, file and hammer for fine adjustments ;) It's been said many times elsewhere, lowering blocks shorten your travel while keeping the same spring/shock strength which leads to lots of bottoming out and potentially very poor handling. I think they are legal assuming ride height is ok? but spraying them black never hurts lowering blocks cost like $100, and a spring place will reset your leafs (lower your ride height) and add an extra leaf (stiffen) for like $170 if you take them out and put them back in yourself. imo MUCH BETTER incase you weren't aware of this option :)
  13. that grill is also ke30 item. It might be the latest version before they went ke55? My 78 has the same and its certainly the original
  14. The things I would do for a shed that size!! and I'm not greedy, I would only keep say 31- because no-one wants to drive a car more than once a month :P
  15. Nice. I had tea and scones with the grandma I bought my car from :)similar story, she felt bad that I even wanted it!
  16. Good to see. where you from? and what is happening with the 10 once you are done?
  17. why you holding out on the mag pics? haha are we not as special as facebook?
  18. Great to see! looking forward to further pics
  19. Chillin looks overrated, If you are getting custom wheels take advantage of it and get the different offsets :y: , imo every second rolla you see has flared fronts and standard rears because of the skinnier rear track, and it's definitely not to my taste (not that I can afford good taste) has anyone actually confirmed that the skinnier rear track is actually beneficial to handling?
  20. so many individual things on this car, thanks heaps for posting up the article. IMO it looks better with the chrome rims, it's probably the only car that could pull off the "biillet" look with out looking cheap?. It's in my inspiration folder, and is part of the reason I have gone off tinted windows.
  21. A 3k :) so so many options search 5k/7k, 4age, and flux converter?
  22. Running standard shocks on ke30, I have the front standard springs compressed 2 and a bit inches ($70), still captive, no difference in ride quality, no hitting bumpstops, wheels have been realigned as they needed doing anyway. Started by lowering the back with 2 inch lowering block (worth their weight in scrap) which had the wheels level with guards and 1 inch til standard squishy part of bump stop (level ride height with front) leafs were way too soft. They are now flipped and leaf added for about 1 and a half lower, mainly because the aren't compressed as much at rest. bumpstops have nearly an inch of thick bit taken out (they are like 2 1/2) standard $150- what are a set of blocks and shackles worth? Its not a race car, and its the best compromise for a cheap daily car, my car was on bumpstops with people in the backseat before the lowering blocks. .
  23. local glass fitter has the new strips for a cheap price..?
  24. Yeah mine are just aluminium colour from autobarn. They were black which was nice but not great, had them with a white lip and now the chrome lip. Still think like a gunmetal grey would be the go? the upside of silver is it just looks like a better stock rim :hmm: still undecided, but never putting the 13s back on!Van is nice by the way, i was thinking of shortening my gear stick :D
  25. r31 14 inch steelies? I thought i was being soo original getting a pair because everyone else is running chasers :lolcry: what rubber are you running and price if you don't mind?
