  1. I work in a fitness centre so is kind of hard for me to work here for 10 hours and then exercise after looking at all the equipment all day, I put on 30kgs in 14months, how? pints of guiness and chicken nuggets, i did alot of exercise and played competitive sport, krazy kiwis, haha
  2. Yeah its RB30 moounts, the intake side does match up, but the exhaust side was way off, I have a look at this with Justin one time when he was looking into it, was a perplexed about how it apprently all works, but another member has done it, IMO, I would not risk it, as the K mounts are deisgned for K motors, and with a CA spinning in anger, yeah could turn out a bit yuk
  3. Have seen this on other forums, and have notice a couple of times fuel ecomony has popped up just curious, Try and keep it Corolla based if we can, don't mind the odd car here and there All sorts of applications, cruisers, dailys, track warriors, rally, khana, drag cars even Ill start, mine with the daily driven mildy SR20 on board, est 8.7L/100km Its great, even with a few squirts, I guess not lugging around as much weight is a plus
  4. It did sound good when i was behind you back over the hill, can tell its a twin cam, I would say 2.25, muffler before diff, then hotdog resonator with a tip Does it have a CAT?
  5. Yes cut the standard crossmember mounts off and made up mounts at a 45 degree angled plates, I can't comment on the 20, was more so giving a guide as to getting the engine in their, same principal yes Just pics of how it looks sitting in there, and where things are close, Stasil has an SR20 in his KE20, could PM him with regards to the sway bar
  6. That would be the way to do it mate, I used the standard silvia mounts, and just made angle plates to suit, there are many variations, post some pics up so we can get an idea
  7. Tomacco? haha refer Simpsons
  8. haha I'm just surprised, In first just nail full boost, shift into second, pedal the thing down the street, click third, look back and see smoke, I don't smash through gears or side step the clutch, just surprised how quick it happens but how long the marks were, haha, it does get very loose tho, silly short wheel base its only the 3rd burnout i have done, and never seems to leave marks, stoopid nexen tyres
  9. WMMH - Set of marks I left on the highway in February this year in the rolla, are still there!!! Didnt realise how long they went
  10. Those rubber mounts look similar to Ford 250 Crossflow units, Repco sells them for about $150 for a pair, and they have a metal shim/washer on either side
  11. And thats how you get these engines in most small cars, It is simply not possible to just drop a non OEM engine in there, CA and SR are tall motors so they need to sit quite low and the steering box setup makes it easier as opposed to the rack and pinnon types as the sump sits forward If you angle the plates on the crossmember the right angle, it is almost a simple fit, but when you got to look at clearances from the firewall, trans tunnel, and gearbox mount, you will be quite surprised how easy they are to get in their, I don't like the look of CA block mounts, even go to mad dat and source their mounts and a way to mount it on the crossmember There are alot of braking options, master and booster, clutch setups, How good are you at cutting and welding, or how deep are your pockets?
  12. Whats the smoke quality when lit up Des? haha
  13. Ill leave it as is then, thank you, Just feels like the car has no soul now, haha Ill keep the plates in the car tho Alright time to start saving, same ammount as 50 cartons of rum, hmmmm
  14. I don't know about the front lip in the pics, prolly looks good in person, Red walls on the tired would suit it also
  15. Cheers for the info Reed, I have seen the shop, and could be an interesting investment, Price does sound good, not re-treads by chance?
  16. WMMH - two weeks on one tank in the rolla, included last weeks cruise :-)
  17. Ahh your learning Reed, haha
  18. I would say you could have your own BBQ, not trying to take away anything from the organisers either, if they don't like it, jump the fence and cook it under the trees they have their, Make sure you bring, chair, water and some form of sun protection!!!!
  19. Yeah well you need to see a car to decide, unless your packing 300hp plus in a sub 900kg car Definately has potential, at least you still have a rear end after Sunday, haha
  20. Well at least I don't have to worry about people asking for a lift, haha The benefits of two doors, and fixed seats, and some sort of gym in the back No Stereo tho >|
  21. edit
  22. WGMG - The Datsun owners club, grrrr haha
  23. Yes they do Dave, and are a trick piece of gear, the Aussie diff shop on the Gold Coast do a similar conversion, I got mine done for $450 for a gemini, shorten and transfer brackets onto VL diff, My Hilux diff was alot more, given how much i intended on throwing at it, Still great option
  24. Very informative and helpful writeup, will provide alot of insight for those wanting to change, The R31 diffs are very similar to the live diffs found in VL/N/P 10 bolt I was under the belief the wagons came with 4.11 LSD??? You can buy mounting brackets to suit the standard corolla housing and mount 31 calipers, you wont be able to get the backing plate on, and the spigot will need to be shaved, and have a complete blank rotor, if you want the look that is.... Great write up otherwise :y:
  25. ALmost time for a roll cage??
