  1. yeah i've read said catalog in a panel beaters shop. you can get guards and bonnets and stuff for your car
  2. interesting site "Hole in block from connecting rod" :P good think they circled it in white, i would have missed that big gaping canyon
  3. i gave a squirt for you then :P
  4. *ear splitting screech* RRRRrrRRRRRrrRRRRRrrRRRRRrrRRRRRrrrRRRRRR ah got your blower on i see :P some moron did up a VS commodore in town, white one with a big ugly vacuum-cleaner bodykit and massive wing, airbrushing and grey velour interior. number plates WETYET (answer: no). $12.5k v6 motor with a T3/4 on a J pipe at the front of the motor. it made something like 300rwhp on run in tune, then blew up a few weeks later you. idiot.
  5. what were you doing 7:30am tuesday? i was having a morning root, i truly must agree they are the best breakfast :P
  6. look on the model plate. it should say something like T50 T292, first one is gearbox, second is diff if it's got a 2t/3t motor, chances are it's a T50
  7. coke is a great corrosive. get a dirty coin and stick it in a jar of coke for a night, mmm shiny. they use coke in hospitals, on swabs, to clean the wounds of patients with infections who are unable to clean themselves
  8. of course :P
  9. you've never seen a centrifugal blower? dude, come to lismore! the "big mod" down here is to buy a crappy old VR ute and put a CAPA kit on it worth as much as the whole car! you have to have a big frontmount hanging out the front bar tho (doesn't matter if it's hooked up or not) and you have to tension the blower belt REALLY tight so you can hear the whine from 2 blocks away, so everyone in the ampol carpark says "he must have a supercharged vehicle. fully sick. bro." :D
  10. lol, humorous car anectode into blatant sexism, i like it :D i was once on a job for work, talking to this rich chick, who was telling me about her new car, a merc. i asked which one and i was just expecting it to be a little A class or something, "oh a CLK" she replies. i just about flipped! she was having a whinge about how she had to stay working for the next 5 years to pay it off, and about how she was keeping her leather-interiored 01 Golf just as a drive car, so she didn't put too many Ks on the merc. yeah toots, life's so hard :doublebird:
  11. 25-65 for torque and peak power at 7500 20-60 for more torque, but less peak power at 6500 i think these are the most ideal cams for a 4K/5K motor, other people have their favorite cams too get the springs tested. stock seat pressure is 70lb. you wouldn't even be able to move tired old stock springs very far with your hands CC the head and work out your compression ratio. there are formulas online to do this. the best way to raise compression is to deck the block so the pistons poke a little into the head gasket. then deck the head but not too far. you may find you need to lower compression? though i doubt it 1600 ford laser valves are one of the options stewart looked into when he was thinking of a bigvalve head. i expect done properly, you'd end up using valves from two different applications. a valve catalog has a massive list of measurements, ask your machine shop to find something suitable the biggest bottleneck in a 5k is the valves. then the shitty stock head ports (especially inlets), then the fact that the manifolds are on both sides of the engine yes, shim the oil pump spring about 2-3mm you're going to need extractors, don't put an exhaust on bigger than 2"
  12. love knows no bounds of nationality or gender GO FOR IT!!! :D :doublebird: :doublebird: :D
  13. the first car is definately a te21 no amount of polishing could make a valve cover look that good. mmm carbon fibre :doublebird: i wish i could make things like that :D
  14. fark, how's your teeth? i barely ever drink soft drink. i didn't spend over a grand on my mouth to have it rot away any more
  15. i know alot of people who would beg to differ with this statement. some of them engine builders who have put together alot more powerful motors than you or i will ever see
  16. well i'm taping it :D i'll get a tv tuner card and put it into divx for you! :doublebird: i'm bidding on a dvd but it's getting expensive ROCK N ROLL :doublebird: :D :D
  17. omg omg omg!!! everyone stop what you're doing and call everyone you know, Guitar Wolf - Wild Zero is on sbs tonight at 1155pm. this is a wicked japanese cult movie and you should all see it and record it. it's one of stewart and my favorites! the lead singer of the band Guitar Wolf just died, so this is like a tribute i guess. if you want to know more, try here and here ROCK N ROLLLLLL!!! :D
  18. travis edwards (of much 4age ke10 fame) has an aussie legend, he was one of the first oldcorollas people who partook in the meets we started having pre-rollaclub. you'll see him on tv, i sms him when he has a bit crash and i see it :D he reckons all up, the series costs him about $50k/year. i got the original 1K motor out of his car and a few other spares which i still have lying around aussie legend reverse is a ring gear welded to an axle flange, and a starter motor that spins it, hence the rear wheel turns in reverse
  19. yeah she's alright, i've been spoilt with much media of hot teens doing alot worse :D http://www.8teenies.com/ http://www.teenfuns.com/
  20. that's the escort i'm talking about! turboed cbr900rr engine, using the original 6 speed bike gearbox with a custom flange onto the output shaft, then a lengthened 2-piece tailshaft to the live axle i don't think a motorbike engine would be that good in a street car. like have you actually ridden any of the top end bikes these days? or even ridden ON one? sure an R1 makes 180hp or whatever, but it makes it at like 15000rpm. riding around "normally" at 7500rpm the thing's still sputtering because it's not even on cam yet! maybe a cruise bike motor like an FJR1300 would have more torque and linear power delivery, but i still think it would be too peaky in a street registered car. you could always turbo or supercharge the motor but how much money do you want to spend? a forced 20v would give a much more driveable car. and if you don't want to do that, then there are plenty of other street car motor options too. FR-mount a 4G36 evo motor like the jett racing datto 1200 ute, THAT would be a different project :D
  21. well yes, i didn't keep mine in there, and i don't drive my car every day anyway. but for flat out performance use and predictability, i love lockers! hell, if i had a cooler drive car than a van (such as a 1200 ute or something) i'd probably only drive my corolla to hillclimbs, cruises and events, so i'd put the locker back in. mmm illegal i think a locked diff would be well scary in the wet tho
  22. the different wing mirrors, bonnet and grille point towards it being a te21 i think? jonny would know for sure, doug might as well it certainly looks tough :D
  23. if we lived in a world of cheap freight and parts availability, knobs who don't drive like they got their license yesterday, and people who respect your car in a carpark - then i would own a te27 otherwise, i would be a 10 grand heap of metal and leather that i would be too afraid to drive outside on a rainy day, let alone leave parked anywhere
  24. you reckon? apart from the axle snapping and legality issue, i'd rather drive with a locker any day. then again, i've never driven a car with a limo hard
