that's um, overly large :D how much was the kit?

buy zoom or fast fours, there are ads with heaps of importers and performance engine places. a 4ag will usually set you back $850 from one of them

if a tree falls in the woods, and nobody's around to hear it, does it make a sound? i often play with the idea that the world gets drawn as you see it. say i have a closed box. there's nothing inside it, like absolutely nothing, no contents, no color, no air. as soon as i open the box, the things inside spring into existance till i turn my back on them i base this theory on the fact that every time i look at my work mobile phone, it's refreshing the screen like it just turned on, and there's half a second or so before it brings up the date. cdma can't keep up with real life cos it's the sux :D

glad you're enjoying it :D

because you did :D everyone knows the best way to run 12s is with NAWS

i am waiting for someone to do that so i can laugh at them and call them a faggot

if you apply the theory of relativity to the evidence, you find there is no paradox at all, time is only relevant to the beholder

yes, i'm hoping i'll be able to get around this too :D i actually found a document i got emailed ages ago about an illegal ke10 front brake upgrade which uses EG CRX rotors. i've emailed DBA to get some more info on the rotors, because i could use them and just get a vented-disc caliper and get a one-piece mount made cheap. should be bolt up with no welding, nice and legal

sounds like your friend needs a wheel alignment and maybe some new tyres corollas are light cars, if you want to do ridiculous speeds (150km/h+) then it's going to wander about a little, as small graduations in the road affect the car alot more than they would with a heavier car. this will be made greater if you increase engine power, as the car not only has to grip laterally (sideways) but under acceleration (forwards) as well. it's not unusual for a light car to change lanes under braking in poor grip conditions but for normal highway driving (110km/h) i don't think you'd have any problem with a corolla that had good tyres, a straight (un-crashed) body and proper wheel alignment (preferably slight toe in, even setback and about 2.5-3 degrees of castor). lowering your car will help give it more stability around corners at high speeds, as will fitting a small front spoiler, you can easily adapt something from an escort or datsun tell your friend to get a ke30 like a real man  ae86 yuck! :D

look up something called the twin paradox it's one of einstein's theories, it involves two twins born at the same time, one stays on earth, the other travels in a spaceship somewhere and comes back. when they are reunited, one twin has gone through more time than the other, evidence supported by clocks each twin has with them, even though time is a constant

just ask rare spares in ballina "mate, if a car is older than 1985, you just can't get parts for it"

speaking of, paul pyvarra (sp?) who used to own red rocket told me that he used to use magna brakes on his red rocket ke25. they apparently just slip over the hubs (corolla discs removed) and you use longer wheel studs, custom caliper bracket, MAYBE machine discs down to fit in 14s that would probably be best, ke25 still has the shortest steering ratio. then you could sell me the coilovers out of redwrf :D i'll end up buying the whole car via aus post
-
skyline brakes are also 290odd mm large, which i think is too big for a ke25, and i'd need to go to 15s. i was hoping to stay in 14s

hey wow i got my toymods account back :blinks: s13 struts in 86 verdict: illegal  nissan skyline brakes 1 skyline brakes 2 skyline brakes 3 (good details post by shin) verdict: cbf getting custom hubs made. and i couldn't handle having nissan parts on my corolla :D ae86 aus to jdm good enough for 200rwhp? not likely, but an option. definately good enough for a 15 second 1300cc motor. cheap way out of it for now? bolts up onto 86 p/s arms ae86 hilux upgrade verdict: xt130 corona struts with better brakes. i think this is best. corona brakes frist, option of hilux/pug upgrade if one needs better stopping power. bolts onto 86 p/s arms i like how there's about 3 useful posters in all those threads, everyone else is like "thanks for giving us a step by step, could u show me some pics too? i can't read" so typical toymods  i don't believe i acutally found the site useful, and the search function does work OMG!!!111 there's also a picture of redrilled FC rotors on 4 bolt hubs. i don't believe how many people out there are running around with massively f@$king illegal cars. welded caliper mounts, cut-n-shut control arms. and i thought i was dodgy bolting on ke70 brakes without having it engineered, sheesh!
-
i usually don't believe things are "bolt on" anymore unless i see pictures :D thanks for the tips tho, i'll look up mr shin and i've written to simon. however he has rose jointed control arms and a drilled crossmember, i was hoping to have my car street legal :blinks: i probably should have specified that whilst i just have a 4k now, i'm going to say to my engineer "i want this to be good for up to 200rwhp" and i doubt even vented brakes in 13" wheels will cut it. i just want to look into all my options before i go see someone (and pay them for their time) thanks heaps for your help tho, you've given me lots to look into

5k head on 3k gives you about 15:1 compression. providing the starter motor could actually start it (because you couldn't drop start it), and you didn't put a spark plug through a piston, your motor would absolutely FLY for about half an hour then you'd destroy the bottom end, or at least the head gasket

i agree the gze manifold does look pretty wierd, i think you could get better, but it would be hard without making the runners longer, which is bad for top end power humorously enough, the sc12 outlet has the same bolt pattern as a weber carburettor. the true purpose of a gze is to have a 32/36 dgv on it :D

they always talk about it on toymods.org.au forums, search on there? (don't post, it's full of wankers)

is there any brake upgrade that is commonly done to ae86 struts? i ask because i have ae86 struts in my garage, and i want to upgrade the front brakes on my ke25. i don't want to make steering much worse, so i'd like to use ae86 power steer arms, which other struts do bolt to, but i have these struts now :D i've already looked around, and there's the usual toymods article on changing to cressida struts. and whilst the TTT 300mm brake kit would be nice, i don't want to spend us$1200. with the s13 brake upgrade, from what i've read you install the whole nissan strut including lower control arms and steering arms, yeah? probably would ruin the front track on a little ke25 - can anyone with an ae86 measure the length of the LCAs, mounting bolt to ball joint? are ke70 LCAs the same? does this affect wheel offset? i couldn't find anything on the rx-7 brake upgrade i've heard about. any help?

nice rims what's involved in the s4 brake upgrade? do you keep 4x114.3 stud pattern?
