an escort/cortina engine mount is just a piece of rubber with a thread through the middle, so if you're handy, go fish two escort mounts out of the huge barrel of mounts that most wreckers have, and make your own with the stock pieces of metal. you could also lower the engine this way if you wanted

shape doesn't matter too much. a square port can flow very well as long as the verticies are rounded to prevent the air slowing down and breaking away from the main flow path in the corners the ports on big block V8s are square, so they're definately not crap. actually' it's a good way of maximising port area when you can't go any big rouder, or want to squeeze alot of flow into a small area (k motor exhaust port)

yeah i had a 300,000 number but the account died totally, even icq couldn't get the password out of it! offline messages was cool until you recieved like 125 of them from an idiot friend :D i also loved the keyboard shortcuts. i still go for ctrl+shift+i to bring up msn and wonder why it doesnt work :kiwi: i generally like keyboard, i don't need a mouse for most windows operations. it gets a funny reaction from people to see you driving the computer with just keys :y:

link me to the own3d thread please :y: nice research skills, i bow down even so, my point was that a 7afe isn't a shit motor just because it's got a narrow angle head. a stock 4k probably makes like a good solid 45bhp (no way they make 60) so imagine how well a 114hp 1.8 is going to go in the same car. definately even better if you add a small/big/20v G head, but it's not like the car is going to be slow and gay without it :kiwi: btw, from club4ag articles, it's been shown that a 7age makes no more or less torque than a 7afe, just more top end power :D

idea of the week! :y: even i could cut some flanges and pipes out of steel (or alloy) and take them to a metal shop to weld, and manufacture an end plate and a front plate for a decent throttle body. the time consuming part would be the injector bosses

i usually replace carb solenoids with a plug to remove their unreliability. if you go into a good bolt shop with the solenoid they should be able to sell you a bolt to suit, and you just cut it down till its short enough. or lop the end off the solenoid with a grinder/dremel and make sure there's no loose bits :P

yeah at one point i was driving around in fook's car (when it was mine) with no boot seal. the car stunk of fumes and i was sick for about a week :P

i used to use trillian, but got sick of it crashing. i have no friends on AIM, so i said to my icq people "i'll be on msn if you need me" and changed to microsoft's client. turns out they were all on msn too :P
