  1. you're like a week too late for me having money for the rest of the year. oh well
  2. burnout is a good game. underground isn't
  3. one of my mates already has 25% so he's doing the endurance races, waaa i want the f1 car too!!!
  4. have you actually seen akina? it's an interesting looking drive, it would scare me at over the speed limit
  5. when you can make a manual BT1 VL run 8s like the autos do, you can say autos are gay. the record last time i checked late last year was 10.52
  6. eminem limp bizkit NELLY the streets nerd crazytown system of a down nickelback instant remedy offspring the dirty dancing soundtrack creedence clearwater revival the beatles crystal method linkin park chemical brothers fischerspooner plus various assorted rab and rnb mostly dre/snoop style stuff. nameless dj remixes like WILD cds. i also like throwaway top40 stuff, except i hold onto it, i still listen to the ketchup song and mel c =) i like most music, i don't listen to classical by choice but i can appreciate it if it comes on. i have a soft spot for old funk, i reckon the good morning vietnam soundtrack was awesome i absolutely can't stand whiny condescending grandpa-clothes depressing college-student crap like something for kate, which is just about all triple j seems to play these days
  7. that little kid is a bastard, he drives better than me =) check out the drifting forum on http://www.gtplanet.net/ people have started to release gt4 drift videos. the midnight club ae86 video has some pretty damn impressive slides in it gt4 is so hard to drift properly in :lovin: it's also like a real car where you get broad and think "whoa yeah that was out there" and it looks like crap ;)
  8. personally i wouldn't bother with the toyoglide. if you've ever driven with one, they are SLOW. imagine a manual corolla with 2nd and 4th only, that's what it's like. but worse if you have to have a tough auto, get the trimatic out of a ke70 (maybe ke55 too?), at least it's got 3 speeds and you know it will stand up to anything you can throw at it with a 4 cylinder, considering the same gearbox stands up behind a warm 202 no worries. it's also got a pretty high stall from factory, so you don't even need to upgrade that =)
  9. THE ENGINE IS EVEN FACING THE RIGHT WAY, THIS CAR IS THE BOMB!!! =)
  10. haha, you are gravely mistaken, 86s are a mediocre fanboy car at best
  11. ahh, abbreviation misunderstanding =) no worries. still, that much torque makes 235kw possible and no more (you can of course modify it for more) i find the power levels of cars these days to be incredible. even a stock v6 commodore/falcon is approaching 250hp. like have you ever actually driven an SS commodore? they SCOOT, it's also real f@$kin easy to get WAY too broad in them. i can't agree enough with the decision to keep these cars out of the hands of P platers
  12. there is no drift section, if you want to make a car handle for drift and drive it you can do that. but you don't get "points" for being a "drift king" like some other gay game which shall remain nameless there's a video going round of a 'ring real life vs gt4 comparison. i have it at home somewhere, it's acutally REALLY accurate =)
  13. welcome to the general public modifying cars. in case you hadn't realised, you have a real problem with rice up there too. so do we down here. they do in america and england too. it's everywhere!
  14. yeah i was in third and was flat out keeping the car from spinning again, didn't have time to shift into second until i was heading down the first square corner and then it was all too late :P thanks for the compliment tho
  15. no but you can get psx and ps2 emulators for xbox. if i had an xbox, i probably would never play xbox games, just emulator stuff
  16. no hijacking the thread, gt4 is better! and besides, our next versions actually do come out :P
  17. do the japanese hall. the first race gets you a fairlady Z LM concept, it's got like 600+hp and you can upgrade that to about 900hp. you can also sell it for like 320000 Cr, and if you do the first race of a cup again, you can choose to erase the win data and win the car again. repeat until rich the japan 90s cup gets you the nismo 400r, which is one of my favorite cars in the game. even stock it kicks ass :P also, train your b-spec driver up by putting him in different cars and on different tracks. the more evenly matched he is, the more his skills will build. even if he loses, he gains skills. he can win you money quicker because you can accelerate the game to 3x in b-spec mode, and you'll need him for the endurance races anyway i'm having fun buying second hand cars and racing them stock, never mind stuff you win. i like to keep races as close as i can, give the game a bit of excitement and challenge, makes you a better driver too here's the prizecar list off gamefaqs http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/gr..._4_na_prize.txt i'm gettin into the gtplanet.net forums alot too, the race series is a good way to improve your driving skill as well
  18. both very good and valid posts. power doesn't make a car quick, torque does. the idiotic media were the reason for the whole aussie muscle car scare of the late 70s, and the reason ford didn't produce a v8 for about 15 years after that
  19. i have sprinter issues in real life, so excuse my ranting. the gt3 shigeno is pathetic, it's 212hp trying to get to the ground through 165mm tyres, its' powerband means you have to drive it on the edge all the time, and i really just don't have that much patience for a sprinter. and forum drifters who use them think they're the best car in the game and won't listen to reason about anything else. i have bought it for my garage in gt4, i should do a few laps in it and see if it's any better i agree with you on the car selection. i don't particularly give a rats ass about the finer points between an acura / honda nsx, or the concept / production rx8, or even most of the spaceship looking concepts that you can just tell are never going to be put into production, maybe that was manufacturer blackmail to get the rest of the specs for the cars they wanted there are differences, sometimes quite large ones, between all the jgtc cars, but having 5+ of the same bloody thing does get boring. 2 or 3 (such as supras in gt3) were more than sufficient. i would have liked to have seen more gt2 cars included in the game (JAMIE WANTS HIS DAISHIN SILVIA), as well as things like standard lancers and rwd skylines after R32s. and pikes peak track instead of some of the stupid crap they've come up with (i hate suzuka). and be able to race the caterham seven, which i have wanted in a racing sim since gt1, and we finally get it and can't use it, tops :sly: several things like this are annoying me about gt4 as well, but this is what we've got so i guess all we can do is get used to it :P
  20. 407Nm @ 3000rpm enables the motor to make a max of 235kw, so i don't think a stock evo 9 is going to be making 250kw at the wheels (all four wheels, not front wheels, considering it's an evo) considering that's probably about 300kw at the flywheel the power cap was a stupid thing to start with, it obviously wasn't policed very well, gtr skylines with 400Nm making 206kw, yeah right, try closer to 306kw. the manufacturers will catch onto the new system eventually it's just a number, who cares, you can work out how much power a car really makes from the torque figure. and if you're really curious, slap it on a dyno. buyers of these kind of cars (evo, sti, nsx, gtr, etc) aren't going to split hairs over a few kw on paper, rather they'll stick with the car which matches their driving style and which they already know or like (or likely own a previous model of)
  21. gearbox is usually on there too, K40 or K50
  22. who would ever want THEM!?
  23. put my old springs in it :P
  24. nick wants to put 17" jellybeans on his ss ute :P
