  1. what nick said, lighten the flywheel too. i built my 4k, it was the first motor i ever built, they are EASY as :D pull it apart and put it together a few times so you know what goes where and you get used to things like cam timing buy new headbolts if you're running more than stock compression. if you can afford it, get bigger valves, that will help heaps
  2. rollaclub might not, but i can respect a good nighttime industrial estate burnout. you do them at night in deserted places so you don't lose your license or harm other people or their property, so you deserved what you got :D that has to be a gze to hit the limiter in second, yeah?
  3. white 7 spoke wheels - god himself has blessed the rolling stock of this car the rest, as nick said, isn't my style. i would have spent the $1500 the bodykit cost you on a new engine that makes the car go fast
  4. i have no idea, i don't know shit about paint, i just like it :D
  5. yeah, sunburst is just... oh god i think i've made a mess in my pants again :lock:
  6. and i'm banned :lock:
  7. welcome to australian roads :lock:
  8. no, you'll need a custom bellhousing. there are a couple of companies in NZ who make them, ask on garagedori.com
  9. closeup of wheels requested :lock: are they like weld draglites? they're what i want
  10. i like the link. how to deal with pk'ers who constantly pwn j00r n00b loser kid

  14. your angle grinder
  15. i failed my Ls first time. it was all questions about traffic lights and freeways, and we don't have any of them around here, so i hadn't paid attention to them in the book. the second time i got good questions, and i've passed every test first go since then i hope they bring in 10 year testing for all licenses
  16. nor do the damn parts put themselves together whilst i sit inside and play the playstation or the girlfriend
  17. that really depends on how your carb was setup before. efi has the potential to correct a poorly setup carb power level. but yes, earlier power and more torque definately
  18. yeah nulon is the best carby cleaner, i actually really like the smell of it the proper way to clean a carburettor is to dismantle it and put a rebuild kit through it as stated, the dodgy quick fix is to start the car, have your mate hold the throttle wheel partially open, spray the carby with carby cleaner until it's fairly clean inside, put both your hands over the inlet and rev the shit out of it. personally i'd do the hand method with a normal service, and if a carby was giving me problems or of unknown past, rebuild it
  19. do it in car you wussbags :insane: it's actually a pain in the ass, anything to do with re-sealing the sump again i would do out of the car and take it off and seal it properly
  20. miss flirty: new engine time
  21. and i believe i just stole that from doug's webpage :insane: as it says on the faq if you want to hook an external ignitor dizzy up to jaycar hei, you'll need to do mods to the hei kit, it involves changing a resistance somewhere, i think the input from the reluctor sensor. if you can deal with the god awful searching system, karl skewes documented what he did to his on the oldcorollas yahoo group. he might have also posted it on his site, garagedori.com i stuffed around with a 4k internal ignitor dizzy (and 5k internal ignitor dizzy with a dead ignitor) for ages and i couldn't get it working. i was using a camry ignitor (which normally gets its signal from the ecu, so i dunno if it was ever going to work) and an rx7 ignitor (which i hooked up and may have fried through lack of wiring diagram). in the end i gave up and regraphed a bosch points dizzy. if you search on the "dime quarterly" datsun site there are generic ignitor hookup instructions, and i've seen the ignitors they talk about out the back of repco stores, even though they're not in the repco ignition module catalog stewart ford from oldcorollas can import starlet 4k elec dizzys with ignitor from america/canada for something like AU$160
  22. "the official rollaclub dragging at the traffic lights faq" :insane:
  23. considering lpg injection is something that's only come out in mainstream cars in the last few years, never mind custom setups on old motors, i'd say his 1g ke70 is just fine your lpg doesn't use a "carby", it uses a "mixer", which is a totally different thing, considering you're adding a compressed gaseous mixture to the intake, as opposed to atomising something which is already a liquid
  24. http://homepage2.nifty.com/yunk/page6.htm http://www.s2000.com/papercraft.php japanese people must really go nuts for paper models of cars, even the manufacturers get in on it http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/japan/l...papercraft.html http://www.nissan.co.jp/EVENT/PAPERCRAFT/index.html and you can use babelfish to translate this huge list of car papercraft sites, some of which work http://www2.nkansai.ne.jp/shop/first/pcraft/pc2.html
  25. it is easy, i've done it in a day, after i put my engine together for the first time and it wouldn't run, some TDCs quickly told me it was 20 degrees out. shit to learn how camshafts work, google is your friend, so is howstuffworks.com a good webpage i could was this http://www.roversd1.nl/sd1web/index.html click on tuning, then camshaft 1 alot of us think the best corolla cam is a 25/65 with lots of lift, the tighe 104 stage 3 grind is that
