today, gt4 was released in australia. hailed to be the most realstic driving simulation ever, i've had $100 sitting on the shelf for months waiting for it. today i scooped it at the bargain price of $84 from harvey norman. my working day went slower than an auto silvia, as i couldn't stop thinking of getting home to play it and i'm not disappointed. the graphics are awesome, it's so realistic sometimes you have to look to make sure the cars aren't real. the physics are a HUGE leap from gt3, so realistic i would say it's almost the same as driving the real car, and it's so much easier to lose control. the game itself is excellent, you can customise just about everything you've ever wanted to. modifications now include superchargers, rollcages, and nitrous oxide there's a crapload of new tracks, as well as old favorites (autumring mini, pikes peak). over 700 cars with alot of classics like mazda 110s cosmo and ta22 celica. there's also a photo mode where you can put your car in many picturesque locations and control a fairly accurate representation of a real camera (focal lengths, apertures, etc) and save photos of your car to memory card or usb thumb drive i've started with my usual car, red mx5. and moved onto my biggest unobtainable dream car, fd rx7 in sunburst yellow, with white volk te37 wheels, of course. if you have a ps2, you should buy this game. here's some pics to whet your appetite, directly from the playstation

you can do heaps of work to them, guys in puerto rico are running 7s with 3t-cs with turbo and nos. anything has potential, but it may be cheaper and or easier for you to just convert to a modern motor like 4agze or 3sgte. do some searching

i can't find "somewhere" in the wiring diagram? attach the tach earth to any ground source, there's usually a main earth in the loom behind the dash, or to the negative of any other electronic thing. mine's attached to a screw in the metal part of my dash, which then earths through the body i would try attaching the sensor wire to the negative of the coil first. it should work both ways, but the less interference you have with initial ignition voltage the better your spark will be tach positive, try the 12v+ of the radio? failing that, get a manual and look at a wiring diagram for the dash cluster, it's likely got 12v going into it somewhere

dynos are the only way to compare how good your car is compared to everyone else's. kw at the wheels and hp per litre are the true measure of how much better your chosen manufacturer is better than every other manufacturer - surely millions of toymods members and honda fans can't be wrong?
