  1. Got it fitted today, engine is starting to take shape on my home made engine stand! ha. 2. G'day mate, Yes thats right! I will call the guy I ordered from and see if they know exactly. yup the cam turned up today, can't believe the post was so much! should have the motor assembled soon. Cheers
  3. Hi all, just received my Rollmaster cam timing kit, does anyone have fitting instructions for these, or experience setting them up. The Crank gear only fits one way, the cam gear has a middle hole, and then 6 holes either side for advance and retard. That would make 12 holes for 360deg meaning 30deg per hole? doesn't sound right?
  4. Cheers good article, I have a set of XT130 struts in the garage so maybe that's an option. Use those, cut the spring carrier off the ke30 and weld onto the xt130 strut, fit King springs, or maybe some adjustable coil overs from T3? Chop my LCA's and extend by 10-15mm. As you said extend the thread on the castor rod and wind it forward. That will give me bigger brakes, camber and castor, lower ride height.
  5. I have found some ke70 struts with adjustable camber tops and bigger brakes, these are skinnier springs so should allow for adjustment and should fit with little modification from memory. Correct?
  6. Quick question, does the T50 box physically fit in the ke30 trans tunnel without modification? I think it does but can't remember!
  7. Sounds like a wiring/connection issue. If all the parts in the charging system have been replaced it can't be much else. Does the battery light come on with the key on then go out when running, not come on at all, or stay on all the time?
  8. For sure, I don't want big camber, just not positive like it is at the moment. I think I will lower it 30mm with King low springs and then see where the camber is at. Like I said with +1 and wide wheels it tracks all over the road, so if I can get it to 0 or -.5 it should be OK
  9. They emailed me and fitting these will give me 2.8 deg neg camber. So from +1deg to -1.8deg camber, would that be ok for road use?
  10. Has you used them? Their web page seem to think they are pretty good for lowered vehicles? Sigma LCA's are to much for me, are the ke20 ones shorted than the Sigmas?
  11. OK, cheers for the input. So the Exedy heavy duty will be fine for a road car, not that I drive it much anyway. More $$$$$
  12. https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ke30/negative-camber-roll-center-adjusters-ncrca-ke30-corolla Has anyone had any experience with these? I'm going to lower the car by 30mm with king springs fit new shocks and thinking about these to give some neg camber. I'm at +1deg at the moment at standard height so when I put the mags with wider tyres on its an absolute dog!
  13. http://www.precisionintl.com/Engine.aspx?ID=1728&EID=2949437&Page=3 A cheaper option. I just bought this, but now I'm keen on the billet one. Do you want to buy the one I have? Will sell for what it cost.
  14. Almost have the 5K up and running, and was thinking about the clutch. I can get a standard replacement for $130 or an Excedy one for about $250. Has anyone had an Excedy clutch and would the recommend them? I thinking about 100hp out of the 5K for a sunday driver. Cheers
  15. Yeah I will get some info and pics up once all complete. It has to be finished for my wedding in November! Took 40thou off the head and after some accurate of piston dish and combustion chamber my comp is 9.7:1 which is pretty much what I was looking for. Should go good!
  16. The cam is done, went with a Crow cam. 280deg adv, 214deg @.050, .442" lift This is what was suggested for my specs with a red line of 7000. I will let you know how it goes once its all up and running.
  17. Yeah, if can find out what the app is that would be great! I'm now getting sick of looking at cams, but have learnt a lot. 272deg .442" seems like a happy medium, fingers crossed. I was thinking about getting a adjustable cam gear, but to be honest its just a 5K with twins and exhaust so wont get too carried away, save that for the next build!
  18. I think the Camtech CT003 517 might be the go... 272deg .442" its a bit bigger than the 261deg .417" I have at home which I think may be a bit small. I will have it Dyno tuned once its up and running either way. Can someone recommend a good carb guy in Melbourne with a Dyno?
  19. Hi all, Engine specs... 5K 40over 9.7:1 compression Extractors with 1.75" exhaust Carbs twin Aisan 3KB type question about cam selection.... Since I want to use these carbs to keep a factory look am I right in saying as these are not big carbs they will limit the maximum amount of air I can get through the engine hence a very high reving engine wont be my best bet 7000 plus. So since they are smaller carbs they will have a high velocity of air movement and thus effecting the cam selection, with high velocity carbs too much overlap is not good? especially if not using high revs due to the smaller carbs? I have a Adv 261deg .417" lift at the moment but it has been suggested to go as big as 284deg .465" lift Ideas, suggestions? In summary i'm after the best cam for the Aisan twin carbs.
  20. How did you end up going with the twin carb jetting? I have a worked 5K just about finished and will be fitting twin Asian carbs I think they are off a 3KB from what I can see everything is the same size on both. Any advice for set up?
  21. Planning on leaving it stock looking, it's a one owner with 60k on it so very good condition, I just want it to go better! Probably just freshen it all up wih new shocks springs and bushes. My next build will be a road racer RX2 once we have a bigger garage!
