...although swapping the motor out for a 4agze would probably be a better option.

Yeah there's plenty of drivers with the talent to win.... Just a shame Mercedes has such domination this year for this to be the first instance someone else has been able to.
-
Awesome race in Canada this morning. Congratulations to Daniel on his first ever gp win!! Was nice to see that Sebastian looked about as happy as Dan once they got out of there cars, even if he was beaten by his team mate.....again! Lol

Another fibre glass item I'm guessing? Half rolla, half Corvette lol
-
Ohh cool, worth a shot. It has 4 terminals out the bottom of the bluebird top half.
-
Yeah I understand the whole dual pulse thing, thinking if I'm going to retune for the bigger injectors I might as well make it a sequential tune. The cas I have is a custom made job of a bluebird (i was told buy seller) top grafted to a K series lower half. What I need to work out is what the pinout of the connector is. Yeah cool, they should pack plenty of punch for the old k then.

Definitely going to look into this more. If I can get hold of a set at this sort of price it might get done a lot sooner rather than later.... http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/161317155570?nav=SEARCH I could make the (free) tribute coils work but will still have to fork out for 4 channels of igniters. Really need to have a good pay with this cas and work out some pin outs. It has 4 terminals.... The wolf only has signal, ground and 5v in the ignition input loom! :hmm:

So are you not running a front stone tray?
-
Hmm, that might need some further investigation then. So they must have some sort of earth strap coming off them then? Then just power and trigger wires?
-
Yeah they're not cop but I'm sure you could work something out with a bracket and a set of stock leads. I something have trouble with it starting on a cold morning. It doesn't turn over quick enough for the dizzy to generate a steady pulse. Hoping the cas might be one way of trying to fix it, although I think the main problem might just be a battery getting a bit long in the tooth. If a dis-4 want $800 odd I'd be a bit more onto getting it done. Might just have to settle for a non cdi igniter setup.
-
Hey mate, yeah got them last week when I got back to launy. Might be a little while until I get them in as I'll have to have cash for the retune as soon as i put them in. I would really like to get that cas in at the same time, but that means even more coin. In a perfect world I'd like to throw an msd dis-4 at it as the igniter. A mate gave me 6 coil on plug coils out of his tribute (2 of them miss-fire) and we've had a very brief look at how I could try and cut them down to fit on the K head neatly. Sucks how every cop coil has a long plug on it for dohc when K's basically need a flat one.

Fyi I have also had a 55 still with the stock tag stating 3.9:1

I suppose that would work provided you don't deck so far that you don't create yourself push rod length issues again. The O dish would have to be a good 3-4mm deep. Still begs the question though as to weather the wall thickness is up to it? I know I personally wouldn't do it for a boosted motor, or even a well worked club race type motor. Only time will tell I suppose.

:hmm: the 4 speed or the 5 speed? ;)

So I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen you say that....and only that! Ie I think it can be a little misconceived for some younger/newer members. You make it sound like that's all that needs to be done, when in fact... -is the block really thick/strong enough for the bigger bore? 4k and 5k blocks are not identical! -what head should one run depending on using either the D dish or O dish pistons? 5k?..... That sounds simple hey!? -then.... What do you do about lifters and push rods? Solid... Hydraulic? If you put a 3k or 4k head on it you can't just use the old chev/a12 conversion as 4k and 5k's have different lifter bore sizes. Or do you then suggest that you bore the lifters as well for 5k hydraulics? Then what about oil supply for the new hydraulic lifters? See what I mean?... Saying just "bore it out to take 5k pistons" is about as helpful as "just drop a 1uz in it" [/rant]

The discs matched with girlock callipers are 1 or 2mm thicker than the 30/sumitomo discs so you could use your existing discs. The mount for both callipers are the same. You do need to change the rubber brake line also though as the girlock ones have an inverted flare. As said the offset of the wheel isn't the problem, its the wheel/spoke design. I have -10 wheels on mine with plenty of clearance.

Ke30/55 Window Size Same As Ke36 Wagon ?
Taz_Rx replied to ke36wagon's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
4 door wagon would most like be the same, but 2 doors I believe are slightly longer like a 2 door sedan. What do you mean by rain seals? The rubber the window runs in? If so you can buy it by the metre at rare spares etc. -
30's, 35's and early 55's had the sumitomo callipers with the rib. Late 55's and 70's have the girlocks....which can also take vn rear pads.

Nah never cracked $2...thank God. Although Tony and Co think its ok for us to pay more so we'll see what happens when that shit goes through the senate. I remember the good ol days when I used to pump fuel for mum, you could fill the falcon for $60-70. Was a big deal back in about '99 when it went over $1!.... man that makes me feel old.- 539 replies

Edited.... Had a dixlestic moment

Personally I wouldn't use any from a wreckers. They're all getting pretty slogged out after 30+ years of changing plugs. I would just do what I did when I completed my last engine build - buy a new genuine set from toyota. From memory they were about $40 for the set but I knew the parts guy so may have got a little discount. Yes toyota genuine parts are expensive but hey, I should get another 30 odd years of no oil leaks! ;)

No sorry mate but you could always try sending him a pm here

The copper softens and seals better. Yeah don't know of that would be hot enough. You could try it though. Easy way to tell if it works - try bending it before hand, you'll notice it just springs back. After you've quenched it when you try and bend it you'll feel it give.
-
If you haven't already bolted the manifolds on then hit that gasket with an oxy then into a bucket of water to quench it, makes a heil of a difference.
