When you put carbies on the air velocity is different, What i did was put a tvis plate on that had the butterflies removed, Removing tvis from a 4age does not have a major effect on the engine anyway.
Yeah basically.
Nah seriously the guy to speak to about the differences that i know of is Matt (littleredspirit), He has had both engines in the same car.
Ha, It's been moved around the workshop :bash:
He has been flat out to the shithouse but is quieting down, Ring him and tell him to pull his finger out.
Its a 4age that has been converted to carbies so it is really a 4ag.
Have you checked the plugs in it as they normally foul up pretty good, Is it rough all over the place or just at certain rpms/load.
I'm pretty sure that an AE92 that came into work some weeks ago has a 6AFC in it but we see that many toyota's that i cannot be sure, It might of been a 5AFC.
EDIT: I just remembered that it was a white AE90 that came in and it was infact a 6AFC.
The r31 has the same amount of valves as the vl engine, As far as I'm aware there was nothing internally different (maybe cams who knows) but the wiring isnt the same.
I was researching a 2age but apparently it wouldnt work:

I work in a machine shop/mechanics so it could be possible :)
