  1. I also noticed they've lenghtened the rear shackles on the TE37's leaf springs to counter the roll understeer. I'd like to do that with my car, but haven't been able to find any shackles of the correct size and length etc to fit the car yet...
  2. Here is something I found, thought some of you might like to see it:
  3. Bruce came round and picked up the car yesterday. After seeing it he's decided to pull the dash out too, so that the bars go straight through it instead of around it. Would probably look better and work better... Car should be back sometime the week after next, don't know if I'm going to enter QMC Rnd 2 yet, don't know if I'll have a car that works! I might give it a miss...
  4. The best I could find (from one of the HSCCQ emails awhile ago) is an email address: [email protected] Next event is a joint event between NRSCC and HSCCQ on the 31st Oct. It's a Khanacross and Motorkhana, at Woodenbong I think.
  5. I can provide more of my car
  6. Scrap what I said earlier. More yacking tonight, and yes it does look like BWCP will be a go-er next year. As Rob said, GCTMC also run khanacrosses at parklands, and that was fun (just watch out for the poles that jump out at you!) Apart from that... Hmm. I think Willowbank would have to be the next closest? Actually, the Northern Rivers club run some motorkhanas, khanacrosses and stuff down near Woodenbong? That would have to be closer to you than Willowbank? In addition to what Rob said, Mt Cotton isn't a very forgiving track.
  7. Yes, GCTMC did a good job, and while BWCP was perfect for promoting the sport, it was a little less than perfect as a motorkhana ground. I may of course be wrong - they may run another event there - but from what I've heard I'm guessing they'll probably look for different grounds for future events.
  8. That was hosted by Gold Coast Tweed. The grounds weren't good, and from what I've heard it's unlikely that it will be run there again. I'm sure Gold Coast Tweed will host future motorkhanas, but probably not at BWCP.
  9. Wow, that's a Loooooooong way down! I'm surprised how (relatively) little damage the car sustained, go the cage huh?
  10. Tried to have a look at the brakes last night, and couldn't get the axles out! Hammered and banged and made lots of noise, but it wouldn't come out... Hmm... Anyways, put it all back together and it seems to clear now. I think the disc is warped though, as it doesn't turn very smoothly (rubs slightly against the pad at one point on the disc). Car is supposed to go away today (didn't happen yesterday), maybe after it comes back I'll have another look at it, maybe borrow a slide hammer or something... Hopefully the axle hasn't welded itself to the center or something silly like that...
  11. Bump stops on the lower control arm... Riiiight.
  12. Yes, "C" was for "California", and has to do with the emissions.
  13. Will the ends of the cable ties also poke out someones eyes? Hmm... Sounds fairly silly to me, but then again apparently bonnet pins are also not legal for the same reason. Did he ping you for your engine conversion etc?
  14. What's wrong with the front guards?
  15. Something I read ont he Australian Drivers Group thingy which I thought was quite well written:
  16. Bummer :) Are you going to be able to fix it up well enough to get the yellow sticker off the windscreen?
  17. Who knows? But while we're on the topic of absolute legend status, how do you explain Mumblezz? A *HUGE* we-are-not-worthy to both of you :) As for point 4 from Datgirl: No worries, it's not like I don't abuse them :) Would you believe they have less than 5000k's on them? You probably would have had more fun with my motorkhana tyres (what with having zero grip) but I couldn't have you drive home on them, you would have been spinning up your wheels in 5th gear, and doing 360's everytime a corner came in sight... I have some photos to upload from the day, but haven't gone through all of them yet... When I do I'll post some up. Bluedwarf needs new suspension...
  18. Yes I realise that - but I've also noticed that most rally people seem to speak in that style :)
  19. Heh... well written... in a style we've all become accustomed to, what with our resident Rally God, Mr :) :)
  20. *grumble grumble* STUPID farking CAR *whinge whinge* Needless to say, no I didn't do motorkhana today. Yes I made it to Queensland Raceway. Barely. THANK YOU to Mr :) for the tow home. Back up on the shopping list: Diff. New discs. Have to find out what on earth is wrong with the stupid thing.
  21. Changed the oil in the diff yesterday, and here is the drain plug: Mmm, lots of "bits" sticking to the magnet... Even better, here are some "arty farty" shots of the oil: Mmm, shiny bits...
  22. Back on topic: Yes I am going! :) This is the car: Went for a short run up the mountains yesterday to scrub the tyres in, and WOW this thing is a BEAST!!! Ate up Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious like there was no tomorrow, fastest run I've ever been up there yet. Unfortunately the car broke (luckily we did a practice run!), I managed to fix it well enough to get us home but ended up burning my arm in the process (ouch). Damn hot exhaust... I can't wait! I leave next Tuesday...
  23. It is a color. You should be able to get it in 2 pack, in acrylic, hell you could probably get it in water color. All they need is the color code (which they should have in their big book) and off you go. Call Paint Shop. Don't ask here. We don't know.
  24. Look in yellow pages, call paint shop.
  25. Paint color is a very personal thing, it really depends on what you like. For instance I like white, but I know a lot of people who recon white is boring. So your choice. Look at other Camry's and other cars, see what colors do it for you, and then go and start pricing the paint. Paint prices vary greatly from place to place.
