  1. Ring Anthony Kellam, see how much he can get those KYB shocks for you. He got them for me pretty cheap last time (awhile ago), I am assuming he should still be able to get them.
  2. what is "U/S"?
  3. Teddy: I'll see if I can get some prices for those springs.
  4. I have a spare seat, but I don't think you want to come with me... If you do, bring some ear muffs... I believe Rob is also going...
  5. Well... Haikal and I didn't do all that great. I was rather tired, a little cranky. We did finish at Cold Rock though (it was the annual "ice cream run"), no complaints there!
  6. Teddy: So KFRL-16 and KTRL-34?
  7. I'm trying to finish off my Turtle Wax, it isn't all that flash. Used the Meguires stuff when I was helping Datgirl to wax up Redatto, and gawd it's nice stuff. I know what I'll be getting after this!
  8. Good to see a big turnout from Rollaclub, after all the discussion and "yeah I'll be there"'s! :)
  9. Peter: Yes. I believe he also initially set up Mel's kickass old 1600 (Dino, the white one that now belongs to Evan and Cara Wheeler). But Dino is now being taken care of by Brian at Pedders Geebung too.
  10. Hmm... Possible. But isn't the flux on the inside (hence flux core)? I didn't buy the flux core wire, it came with my welder...
  11. Well, no I wouldn't. Not on sheet metal anyway. I do know people who would, and do, though. And yes I agree standard MIG rocks, a heap better than gasless (I've been using my "standard" one gasless for a bit because I don't have any gas at the moment). Flux core wire isn't all that bad, but it isn't as good as normal wire with gas either. And yes, the MIGs at Tafe rocked. My little thing is so crap in comparison...
  12. This is tonight, for anyone who's interested. McDonalds car park, Wynnum Road , Cannon Hill before 7:00pm
  13. Umm, I don't know about "looking cool". Personally I'd much prefer to have ALL of them on one mod plate, but you know how it is... Irokin nailed it on the head. Everytime I get the something mod plated I have to get another plate. The first time I got the car plated, I had a stock diff, and I had stock rear brakes, and no hydraulic handbrake. So only the Landdcruiser brakes were put on the plate. So yes, even though both plates would have the same code on them (generic code for brakes), they will both pertain to a different thing. What this also means is that if I upgrade my front brakes again (to say Wilwood calipers or something) then I have to get ANOTHER mod plate for the new front brakes. One really silly thing is that as far as I know you're not allowed to remove mod plates, so even if those mods no longer pertain to your car, you still have to have the mod plate attached...
  14. It's no worse than a stick welder...
  15. Hey wow I was useful for something :) Did I say castor rod bushes? Hmm, for some reason I think I meant inner control arm bushes... Or maybe I meant castor rod bushes? Brain not working... Oh well, glad it worked out for you! :)
  16. Woo hoo, car is getting picked up on a tilt tray... Tuesday I think. Cage is CDS, built to CAMS specs including blue plate. Wow, that means I'm going to have 3 blue plates on the car!!! #1: engine, seats, front brakes #2: rollcage #3: rear brakes, diff Plate me up, baby :)
  17. Anywhere that has conductivity to where you are welding. Preferably something big and beefy, preferably somewhere close to where you are welding. What about the supports at the sides of the boot? That's where I had mine clamped.
  18. Looking good Doug :)
  19. Depending on what you want to do, I'd actually suggest to replace the bushes as required. If your rubber bushes are fine, then keep them. If they need replacement, get some polyurethane ones. Yes, poly does make it stiffer and all that, but no as far as I can tell it doesn't make THAT much difference. Just make sure that your bushes (rubber or poly) are in good condition and you'll be fine. Also, poly ones last longer. Also, speak to Brian before you get the bushes. Some bushes are probably best left in rubber. For instance the lower control arm bushes, if you keep them in rubber you can wind more castor in. I've got poly ones, hence can't really wind much castor in.
  20. Behind every great female driver... ... there must be a great male driver :) hehe, not true, but I couldn't help it :)
  21. Yes, Brian has set up Pinky and Hal, and I've been happy with both setups. Alternatively (since I'm not sponsored by Pedders...) speak to Ken Graham from Accurate Suspensions, he is a suspension guru... He set up my Lancer GSR and I was more than a little impressed. For KYB's, I got mine from Anthony Kellam, he was willing to sell them to me for less than anyone else For springs, I think I have a source for them slightly cheaper than retail, give me the part number and I can get them. For bushes, Fulcrum have been the cheapest for me. I don't know if it's ethical, or morally right, but generally I've gone and bought everything (from everywhere else), installed it, and then brought the car to Pedders to have everything tuned (Pedders have been rather expensive for parts in virtually every single case)
  22. Not a Corolla, or even Corolla related, but I thought this was an interesting build diary: Morris Minor 16v Fiat Engine Race Car
  23. ... at least the trumpets look nice and smooth... no sharp edges is a good thing :) And hey, double bonus, there's 4 to choose from!
  24. Speak for yourself :) mumblezz: better start running! :)
  25. I can imagine your attempts being rather painful... Or uncomfortable at least. Then again, no I don't want to imagine that :)
