As some of you may know, I've been on the lookout for a 4.3:1 ratio for my T-series diff (and an LSD if I can find one cheap enough).
Anyway, as far as I know my diff is out of an RA28 Celica (so I'm told anyway), and has a 3.9:1 ratio. Center is broken, missing bits that should be there. I did count the teeth when I first took it out, but have forgotten now, but I think it was a 43/11 ratio (3.909).
Anyway, I was speaking to the boys at Option1Garage the other day (they seem to be the only people I can get an LSD or gears from, everybody else seems to talk a lot and not deliver), and they had a Cusco center and ring gear. Ring gear out of a 4.3:1 ratio, 43 teeth. But they don't have the pinion.
Now, looking at this page, it says that the TA23's and some other Celicas had a 41/10 ratio (4.1:1). Not sure how well this applies to the Celicas we have here, but I do know that most of them came with a 4.1:1 ratio so could either be 41/10 or 37/9.
Also, was speaking to Chin (Acoustic) when I was back in Malaysia, and he mentioned that he's got a 4.1:1 now, and he's looking for *just the ring gear* for a 4.3:1 because then he will have a 4.3:1 (reusing the 10-tooth pinion).
Is this true? Can ring gears/pinions be swapped with each other like that? Or do they have to match each other?
