  1. I think it would be safer to say that the quickest cars are generally the ones with LSD's or lockers. LSD's are in most ways far superior to a locker. I've driven both, and I'd take an LSD any day... That said, LSD's are a shiteload more expensive...
  2. I'm not sure about that rumour. Next QMS is Oct 17 I think, it's a QMC as well I think.
  3. Changing diff ratio can help acceleration, yes. bigger number = bigger acceleration, less top speed.
  4. Makes it go faster. :P
  5. OT: Wow talk about price difference... TA22 diff center from Wacol: $75. Whole diff, $100. TA22 diff center from Kelly: $175. Whole diff, $220.
  6. People on Toymods recon this could be a negatory.
  7. As some of you may know, I've been on the lookout for a 4.3:1 ratio for my T-series diff (and an LSD if I can find one cheap enough). Anyway, as far as I know my diff is out of an RA28 Celica (so I'm told anyway), and has a 3.9:1 ratio. Center is broken, missing bits that should be there. I did count the teeth when I first took it out, but have forgotten now, but I think it was a 43/11 ratio (3.909). Anyway, I was speaking to the boys at Option1Garage the other day (they seem to be the only people I can get an LSD or gears from, everybody else seems to talk a lot and not deliver), and they had a Cusco center and ring gear. Ring gear out of a 4.3:1 ratio, 43 teeth. But they don't have the pinion. Now, looking at this page, it says that the TA23's and some other Celicas had a 41/10 ratio (4.1:1). Not sure how well this applies to the Celicas we have here, but I do know that most of them came with a 4.1:1 ratio so could either be 41/10 or 37/9. Also, was speaking to Chin (Acoustic) when I was back in Malaysia, and he mentioned that he's got a 4.1:1 now, and he's looking for *just the ring gear* for a 4.3:1 because then he will have a 4.3:1 (reusing the 10-tooth pinion). Is this true? Can ring gears/pinions be swapped with each other like that? Or do they have to match each other?
  8. Have looked at that, but the pull systems are actually quite complex. The simplest one I've found so far is actually out of the shovelnose Corona...
  9. Can you get yours resleeved smaller? Keith mentioned he could do mine if I wanted to (but I don't see the point since I'm moving to discs hopefully soon anyway)
  10. Whatever car it is, if it is supposed to be in "extremely good condition" and it's got roadworthy and 6 months rego (worth about $300+) I'd be skeptical. Either you're getting a bargain, or there's something the seller isn't telling you.
  11. Picked up my hydraulic handbrake lever today, mmm pretty :P All up $150 for lever, reinforcement plate and all bolts required. I'll post up a photo later. Rob: Was speaking to Keith, and something that occured to me awhile ago but I didn't think about when you were telling me about your handbrake in Redwarf being very hard to use - what bore is your master cylinder on your handbrake lever? With my current setup (3/4" master) Keith recons it'll be virtually impossible for me to lock up my rear wheels with the drum brakes, because my master is just waaay too big. Will suit discs much better, which was why I bought such a big one to start...
  12. 2.3L Corolla? A new Corolla for $800???
  13. Oh whoops, sorry for that Amy... Hmm, now I've got my name sent to Aus Idol - do you think I'll win that one too? :P
  14. I've broken 3 gearboxes since April this year... Something must be wrong with me :P
  15. That's looking really really good Paul.
  16. Fook is auditioning for the silly seat for East Coast Targa If you'd like to vote for Fook, SMS "Fook" to 19 10 10, or call 1902 366563 (ie 1902 FOOKME) :P Hehe, just joking on the SMS and calling bits in case you didn't catch that already - but yes I may be doing East Coast Targa!!! :P :) :) It's all up in the air at the moment, but I hope I get to do it!
  17. Still a few spots. Any takers?
  18. faces.com is a cool site, I had a look at it ages ago (when datgirl first put it up), and it had lots of cool features. But if I'm not mistaken the service isn't free. A free popular blogging site is blogger.com, and apparently Google has a blogging tool too.
  19. Rob: Click here for a definition of "blog" Here is one of the definitions given: Except mine isn't quite updated daily. More like whenever I have something to say, and mysteriously find time to say it on my blog. I've been "blogging" for quite awhile now, except I've lost a lot of my early "blogs" from either data corruption on the server (happened quite a few times while I was using MovableType), or switching systems. If I recall correctly I started off on Greymatter, then MovableType, then WebApp, and now Pivot.
  20. So... How was Benarkin?
  21. I think the later model ones had one?
  22. I don't know what I'm doing yet, but probably won't make it. Am working on getting the hydraulic handbrake working in the car before next motorkhana (in less than a fortnight now), and ex-housemate from Singapore is arriving in the arvo on Saturday
  23. Ta nick. A lot of work left to do I think, it's very very unfinished.
  24. Oh does it ever! I was laughing all the way through :P
  25. Oh well, if we finish early enough I might drop in maybe. Will call. Another KE10? Cool :P What plans for this one?
