  1. When you get the extension your CTP provider will give you or send you a letter to state that you have organised it. You can usually do it over the counter or even over the phone.
  2. Sup regs Entry form Remember that you will need 3rd party extension on your CTP.
  3. Done.
  4. Hmm.. I personally thought the physics in Sega Rally 1 were really crap... Very Daytona. I do like the physics in Live For Speed though, definately the best driving game I've ever played.
  5. I run RaceBrakes, RB74 compound. I find them very well priced and they work pretty well.
  6. Oh wow, I got a mention :insane: BTW, for anyone who cares, as far as I'm concerned... ;) is a LEGEND :D thanks Rob :D
  7. Ah well, shit happens and when you go street racing I suppose you have to expect or at least prepare for the worst. We were all like 17-18 years old so really didn't know any better, even now if you carried a fire extinguisher in your car people would probably laugh at you and ask if you worked at the "bomba" (fire brigade). In all honesty I don't think a different glass (safety glass or whatever) would have made any difference at all in that case, it was more something that came up at one of the CAMS panel meetings - according to the CAMS manual (forget which schedule and cbf to look it up now) you can't compete in a car with stick on film tinting, and we were trying to find out why that came to place and someone mentioned about how it's a fair bit harder to break etc...
  8. I think it's more when you panic and all that... some friends of friends rolled a Beemer in Malaysia, the thing caught fire and they couldn't get out (am guessing doors were locked and they couldn't get them open), could just hear them banging on the windows and screaming, it was really awful. They all (4 of them) burnt to death, no one was game to try to approach in case the car blew up... To make it even worse it was a kid who'd taken his parents car out when the parents went on holiday...
  9. Battle Gear 2 is pretty lame though, but yes much enjoyed Battle Gear while it was around... They used to have it at Chermside Westfield, but not anymore ;)
  10. No idea, I'm guessing you'd be able to put the power to the ground a bit better with a locker. BTW, anyone who is wanting to enter this will need 3rd party extension - sometimes called Rally extension (just go to your CTP provider and ask, usually free or sometimes like $2 a day or something) I have the sup regs and I also have the test diagrams, if I could just get around to uploading it somewhere... A lot of reversing tests this time, and a lot of slaloms. To tell you the truth the tests look really boring this time, but the spectator value should make it fun anyway...
  11. Mucked around with a G-Tech on the way home yesterday, clocked an 0.8G acceleration and 0.8G deceleration ;) I wish I had the instructions so I could actually figure out how to use it...
  12. ... and, haha, the same Bill Sherwood who's G-Tech'ed a Boeing 747 ;)
  13. Is there any other Bill Sherwood? Also the same Bill Sherwood with the 3SGE Fraser...
  14. not to mention it'd probably be so highly tuned that it would last about 1 pass before needing a rebuild...
  15. At a guess I'd say because it's easier, there's a lot more know-how out there and it'll probably even be cheaper. And it'd probably go just as hard, if not harder... I know of a certain Datsun that owes it's owner about 2/3 what my Corolla owes me, has about twice the power (est), has bigger brakes, is lighter and much much better setup than my Corolla. Has adjustable coilovers on all 4 corners, full harnesses, the lot...
  16. Oh yeah that's right... It's the injectors that run 2 at a time, not the spark ;) Getting wiring diagrams mixed up in my head...
  17. They are better, but no, still not spectacular by any standards...
  18. Standard 4AGE's fire 2 at a time, I think. Even though no matter how I think of it I can't see how that works ;) I know that cylinders 1 and 3 come up at the same time and cylinders 2 and 4 come up at the same time, but it's a 4-stroke so that doesn't make a difference... And isn't the firing order 1-3-2-4 or something like that? That's umm... pretty nice compression :insane:
  19. Good things coming to an end? Where? It only ever gets better ;)
  20. Yes, have also heard many-a-rumour about Mr Redwarf building a Datto...
  21. I somehow don't think I know *quite* enough people (or even names) to really pull that off... Could have tried though ;)
  22. Make sure you use a spring compressor when compressing the spring. The force at which the top spring seat can come off when you release the bolt is quite phenomenal, the first time I did this I didn't use a spring compressor (just a clamp to initially compress it) and pointed it away from me and when it let go the spring seat flew straight across the garage, bounced back and came all the way back to me. If that had hit my head or some other part of me it probably would have done some serious damage... Also this will only work if your strut tops will actually fit (well) on the Starlet GT shock shafts. Paul: Prob cause you have more travel in your front. To fix this (and to be more legal) you can put in helper springs to keep it captive, or get shorter stroke shocks, or get longer (and probably softer) springs.
  23. Considering how we went navigation-wise at the Coastal Challenge, we'll most definately be doing this. I don't really plan on getting excluded in the first navigational section for Queensland Challenge next month...
  24. Just called up Ten Network in Sydney, you *can* get a copy of the video, but you have to be a driver (or part of the crew) at the ARC to get it ;) Not sure how much it is or any more details... However there will be a show about the ARC on Ten on the 20th June (not sure what time), they *may* show it there. Darn it, I'll be at QMS :insane:
  25. So... who's going to be the piker this time? :insane: We've traditionally always had at least one, shouldn't break the tradition now should we? ;)
