  1. Yup, got one of those. Jamie has one on his site too.
  2. Haha, sounds like when Initial D came to Australia, and all of a sudden AE86's were worth like 20 times more. Better than real estate market! I suppose Ipoh, like Melaka, would have more of these old school cars since it's still a fairly kampung sort of city. Good ol Datsun 120Y, impossible to kill them, one of my uncles had one. My aunt ended up rolling it when she fell asleep driving home to Tampin one day. Went up a guard rail and flipped over, oops. Now they have some Wira or something boring like that.
  3. I wish I could say that too... :) It did bolt in though...
  4. Are there still many pre-KE70's in Malaysia? Last time I was back, I saw a few here and there (in Melaka), most of them owned by some kampung man and his family, or similar. So obviously not really modified, or well kept for that matter. Don't think I saw any in KL, too many wannabe Evo's and super rice Civics there. Did see a few KE70's though, but again not many worth mentioning. Seem to be quite a few good ones according to ZTH though.
  5. I've got gloves, no worries. Had a novel idea today (probably a stupid one, but what the hell...). Get a flat steel bar, bend it so that it clears the tailshaft (after all, the shaft is only hanging under the floor level by maybe 10mm or so, standard height it actually goes *up* from the gearbox). Then bolt a big U-bolt to it, hahaha. It would probably work too, if it wasn't for the fact that I can't get a U-bolt to fit in there... Maybe I should move the fuel/brake lines, that would make life so much easier. Except, then they'd be *under* the car (as opposed to inside the transmission tunnel), and I don't think that's a good thing. Not to mention what a pain it is to bend all that piping again!
  6. Bought it from an importer in Perth. Brand new.
  7. Heh... No, I kinda like my 4.77 :)
  8. Really? Mine must just be weird :)
  9. What on earth are those supposed to fit on??? A very very tubbed drag car? What sort of drag car runs 13's???
  10. Hehe, that's funny. Lowering and raising a 3/4 ton gearbox must be fun. Not to mention the fact that all the sockets would be a different size :)
  11. Found to eBay links: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...ssPageName=WD1V http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...ssPageName=WD1V $65 and $76 respectively (including postage). Looking at photos, it looks deceptively simple, if I wanted to make one the only bit I don't think i could buy off the shelf would be the round bits... Are the "L" bits meant to point up, or down? Pointing up I can see being a problem, as the transmission tunnel is round, and I have no space between the tailshaft and side of the tunnel. Pointing down is also a problem, as the car is already quite low...
  12. Oh cool. Would it at all be possible for you to bring it along with you when you come up? I want to see if it'll actually fit on the car... With only about 10mm to work with between the tailshaft and the fuel/brake lines, I don't know if it'll clear everything...
  13. Jamie: A bit like this?
  14. How much was your bracket?
  15. Had a fiddle with the tailshaft, tried to see if there was any play in the uni's, I can't see any. Kinda hard to tell though, since the gearbox itself moves (rubber mounts). Rotated driveshaft, see if that does anything. Has anyone here put a tailshaft loop into a KE35 (or similar)? I can barely even fit my fingers between the tailshaft and the brake/fuel lines, getting a tailshaft loop to fit with some room for movement is going to be... interesting?
  16. Hmm, I wonder how much a custom tailshaft would cost :)
  17. Doesn't the 2TG head bolt onto a 2TC block? I think it does.
  18. Strap lots of fireworks to it. Seriously, do a search. It can actually be fun.
  19. I've just replaced 2 (one on each side) and that was enough to stop the blinkers working!
  20. Swaybars, Whiteline make them.
  21. Erm, never seen these. I'm sure they would exist though, no reason why they wouldn't. I think I have the kit to make them actually, but I'm too lazy :)
  22. They just replace your old bulbs. So they don't look any different, except when you turn them on and off, they don't glow on and off, they come straight on and off. Oh, and you can get them in different colors. But why you'd do this unless you had clear lenses, I have no idea. I've got amber ones for the indicators, and blue ones (couldn't find white) for the park lights. I am riceboy :)
  23. Yeah 2nd gear with the 4.11 is not really useable for me except for really big flowy tests like Oh What a Feeling and Around the World (?), where I can grab 2nd gear, snap the tail out and keep it going around the course (assuming I don't overcook it and spin) until the last flag when I have to go back to 1st. If only the cost difference wasn't so big between standard gears and close ratio gears! There's meant to be a motorkhana on the 19th of this month, might go out and see how it goes...
  24. I can almost guarantee it won't "bolt up"...
