Actually, if you use the older style T50 (that came in Celicas, and with any other car that came with a T engine), you can use the standard Corolla tailshaft. You'll only need a custom job if you change to the later T50 (AE86 etc).

I have an SV21 wagon. It is cheap, boring, attracts no attention, and I can park it anywhere I like without worrying about anything happening to it. It is also a PITA to work on, and keeps chewing up starter motors (or rather, the solonoids). After owning the Camry for just over a year, I'd rather own a VT Commodore wagon. More comfortable, more fun to drive, looks better and can tow more.

What do people put on sticker boards? I don't buy car mags these days (not the ones that have sticker boards in them anyway), and I haven't been to a car show in ages, but I'm apparently putting my car into a show of some description soon, and a sticker board has been suggested. Except... What do you put on it? Somehow, putting up all the specs of the car (apart from requiring a rather large board), seems a bit of a wank factor? Maybe it's just me...

Of all the wheels posted, I don't mind the Simmons, both the ones Teddy posted, and the 2nd last one Tiger posted (5 spoke). I don't think any of the rest suit the car, personally. Yes you can "update" the look of the car, but unless you do something about the general body shape, it'll always have a hint of "old school" to it, so you have to at least sort ot stay with the era.

Go the Simmons. No substitude :)

Just a heads up, apart from that strange Corolla I saw at the wreckers the other day, there is also a GP (like Toms, I think. Pop up lights). Didn't really have a good look, but it has engine etc still in it.

Found it. For anyone who's wondering, it's behind the fan blower on the passenger side, tucked away where you can't see it and can't reach it. And if anyone's interested, the central locking module is above the glovebox. Taking out either of these modules requires the entire dash to come out. Umm, just out of interest (maybe Teddy would know or have access to knowledge?) my Camry has some of the plugs required for the cruise control. Namely, there are plugs to plug the cruise control main switch in, there are plugs to plug the actuator and vacuum solenoids in. But there are no plugs for the control unit or the brake switch. Any idea where the wires from the plugs that are there go? It's almost as if Toyota started putting the cruise control wiring in, and then halfway through decided not to finish it... Oh, also the set/resume switch is on the window washer stalk, and they appear to be interchangeable. Haven't checked if the body loom has the required wires yet though. I'm probably going to end up custom wiring the entire thing, but if there is already existing wiring to tap into it would make life a lot easier.

No no, that's the actuator. I have the actuator. I need the computer thing that controls it...

Basically everything that is connected now in the AE86, you will need connected in your KE70. Probably easiest to transfer the wiring looms over too.

Yup, discovered it is part of the window washer switch thing. Now I just need to find the control unit...

Umm... Trouble finding 2 things (in the car): - control unit - set/resume switch I took the whole interior apart, discovered the engine computer (above the "tranny tunnel"), but can't find the cruise control one. Also, can't find the set/resume swtich. I know the main switch is under center aircond vent, but where's the other switch?

Very cool! Was it hard to adapt the 20V CAS to fit? Maybe I can do this to my 4AGE too! :)
