  1. cannons don't usually work all that well as mufflers.
  2. Also, do remember that whatever sort of fan you decide to use (engine or electric), a shrouded fan will always work better than a non-shrouded fan. A lot of people just mount thermofans directly to the radiator, this is NOT the most efficient mounting since it will only cool a small section of the radiator.
  3. Haha, I actually saw a few sets of spinners while I was in the US, and some of them actually look rather cool :P They're proper spinner rims of course, not gay wheel covers, and only in like 21" bling bling chrome on big Hummers... So wrong :)
  4. I got a 3-core put onto my end tanks for my KE35 Corolla, so yes it's possible. Not sure how much better it is, but with my thermofan and shroud I've never had any issues, running a 4AGE. The only time I've ever had the car running hot was on the skidpan where the car was sideways (less airflow) and revving at about 7000RPM constantly for about 5 minutes...
  5. Oh but of course :P
  6. I like low end torque. Now I want a dirty 302 crate motor and I want a Capri Perana so that I can pull big skids :P
  7. Jamie: You know what your problem is? Too much... nvm :P
  8. Engine braking on a RWD car only brakes the rear wheels. Front wheels stop the car so much better...
  9. Haha, yeah Corollas aren't like Dattos, Corollas have optional brakes. And it wasn't even a factory option...
  10. Happy Birthday :P
  11. Agreed completely. And, if you're driving along at your own happy pace, and you notice someone who's been on your tail for a little bit, do pull over and let them pass, it's only polite...
  12. You can be like what Nick used to have, with little copper lines going through the firewall and kinda floating around in the passenger footwell...
  13. Nice wheels
  14. Haha, doesn't Mel work for the EPA? But yes, Jason - paint stripper is not for gutters, it's very very non-green-friendly.
  15. Actually I think the time that we went was a fairly good time. There were cyclists on the road, but not too many, and there were bikies on the road, but again not too many. Not many cars either. As we were driving back down Samford way there were quite a few bikes coming up. Haikal: I'll take you up again if you want, want to see how much difference moving my swaybar mounts did. Hopefully the front end will be a little softer now. Although, I probably shouldn't drive on my softie tyres on the road anymore, they're rather bald  Nick: Didn't see any water there today, that could change things a little.
  16. Heh, that's too true... Must Stop Red Mist...
  17. Always drive within your limits, more so on public roads where things are a bit less predictable. People who frequently drive outside their comfort zones generally don't survive very long.
  18. Nick: I wouldn't go all out at any time of the day on that (or most other public) road anyway... I don't know why you'd say that Mt Nebo would be more "technical", from what I can tell (from driving it like twice, so I'm no expert) it's just a quicker piece of road, with more of a fast-fast-fast-fast-oh-shit-slow-corner combination. With power, Glorious is pretty darned fun, because virtually every corner can be taken with balls, even coming back up the mountain those 20-marked corners are a challenge, esp the one that is a right-20-left-20 about halfway up, haha, can someone spell out p-e-n-d-u-l-u-m? :P Glorious is also a hell load harder on the brakes I recon, with 4-3-2-3-4-3-2 gearchanges all the way down and up the mountain  I dunno, Glorious just seems to flow very well, has some very awesome corners with some very good camber, with only the leaves on the top bit a bit worrying.
  19. Well that was fun :) And mission accomplished, found out my front swaybar is definately set too stiff, will have to slacken it off a bit. Now if I could figure out which way is "soft" Going up was rather boring, we got stuck right from point 0 behind a very very good driver, he was following the speed limit and every single advisory sign to the dot. Only, I'm almost certain his speedo was reading 20 under... So we were doing like 50-60 most of the straights, 40 through Nebo village, at times down to 10 on some corners... YAY! He stopped off at the top of Glorious though. Yes there were a fair number of cyclist up Nebo, but that didn't worry us since we weren't travelling much faster than them anyway. A fair number of bikies through Glorious, some of them like to cut the corners (across lanes) even when they're blind, got my heart racing a few times, coming around a corner and find a bike coming towards me at rather high speed in my lane... And then there were the two people walking on the side of the road, around a blind corner... But yes, I must say, coming down Glorious is an amazing piece of road, I love it! I think next time I'm just going to skip Nebo even, and just go up Samford and down Glorious, and back again! Some of those 20-marked corners coming down Glorious are FUN FUN FUN, my tyres are so stuffed :P
  20. So... Is anyone turning up tomorrow? ae71neo? Or are we postponing this for another day? If I don't hear back from anyone before tomorrow morning then I'll be there.
  21. I'm mucking around with the Selby's adjustable swaybar that I have at the moment, and am trying to figure out which way gets stiffer and which way gets softer... On a normal swaybar, it's simple, the front bushes merely locate the bar (pivot) and the end bits torque the bar, so the further away the ends are from the pivot, the "softer" the bar is... The bar I have attaches to the radius rods. So one set of bushes near the ends, snd one set of bushes near the pivot. Does the same theory apply? That the closer together I put the bushes then the stiffer the bar will be? Or is it the opposite? Does it matter how near the ends I put the bushes?
  22. Hell maybe I'll just go like... now  Hehe.
  23. So how now, brown cow?
  24. Yay  Oh well... Maybe we should make this a different day/time? Hmm, dunno.
  25. Sounds good. See you there.
