  1. irokin: They do. They come in packs of 4.
  2. I know it's really early, but I'm tempted to try for a 6 or 6.30 start.
  3. Plus the fact that good KE3x and KE5x parts are actually getting quite scarce at the wreckers...
  4. Oh WHOOPS forgot about this! PM me account details!
  5. Jason: If you have the time (and patience), I'd refrain from painting the engine bay until the engine has been trial fitted. This is because you will probably have to drill holes for stuff etc, and you'll probably scratch your nice new paint when trial fitting the engine anyway. I had to repaint bits and pieces of my engine bay multiple times when putting my engine in... And that was after trial fitting the block once! Generally rubber doesn't like petrol (and degreaser). If you're going to use degreaser to clean the rubber bits (what else would you use I suppose?) then make sure you wash it off after you've cleaned it. Then get some of that "rubber reviver" stuff and put that on to protect the rubber.
  6. No one has seen or heard of Haltech? That's a first... Whereabouts are you again? If you're in Qld look up Redcliffe Dyno, they specialise in Haltech and do a great job. Else, look up http://www.haltech.com.au And yes, Motec is regarded in the industry as one of the best, if not the best.
  7. kangaroosa: You have 4x10" JL sub woofers? Do you even get anything apart from bass in your car???
  8. Out of interest I had a look at my insurance cert last night and if I'm not mistaken my car is insured full comp for $700 a year, valued at about $5K? Or maybe it was $7K. Something very low like that.
  9. Medicine_Man: No, not hard to do, just boring!
  10. Mt Cootha is 50 zone, and quite often is enforced. And is dreadfully boring at 50. Nebo and Glorious are mostly 80 zone, and you can have fun there at 80.
  11. Yup if we go for a drive I'd prefer it to be early, before most people wake up, and before the Sunday drivers go out.
  12. I could potentially be free. I need to be home before 3pm (ECT on TV!!!), not sure what I'm doing for the rest of the day.
  13. Or get a 4AFE, heaps cheaper and almost as good as a 4AGE.
  14. Carpark motorkhana? What do you mean? If you mean the motorkhana at BWCP, then it is August 7: Aug 7: GCTMC Motorkhana QMS 6 (Broadwater)
  15. You forgot to mention Haltech, they're pretty good too.
  16. Added the IWMAC Test & Tune (practice) day dates. Details from their website:
  17. You'll have to speak to Kellam for that, or someone else who has one of those surge tanks. From memory I think they were 1L. Mine is 1L, but mine is in my boot, and mine is a KE35. Metal lines are just standard bundy line. I got mine from my engineer, I would assume any other plumbing shop would have it too. Rubber lines make sure you get EFI fuel hose. I got mine from... umm. Hmm, can't remember. Supercheap sell it, but only in small quantity. I got most of mine from one of the hose suppliers (look up yellowpages)
  18. No one would insure my KE35 apart from Just Cars and Shannons. Both are very very expensive.
  19. I think the one for the AE86 usually goes sort of behind the diff? In that space in front of the spare wheel, something like that.
  20. Nothing really "wrong" with the red one, per se. It's just had a fairly hard life (used to be a rally car) so could probably do with a proper rebuild etc. Also the engine that was put into it last time I saw it was a bit dodgy (4AGE with quad mikuni's) as far as I've head. Very well set up car otherwise. As far as the orange one goes, it doesn't look too bad from the photos (mind you photos don't show much), and with the equipment etc that's on the car $2500 doesn't sound too bad. That said, I'm not sure what KE25's are worth these days.
  21. lyonsy: this one?
  22. Under the floor of the boot. So you were going to make a cover to seal off the battery and the surge tank together? Fuel and spark, all happy in one box?
  23. It has to be in a separate "compartment" to the cabin. In the case of the KE70, you will need to seal off the boot from the cabin. I'm not familiar with KE70's so I'm guessing here. Can you fold the rear seats down in a KE70? Basically you'll have to get a piece of aluminium or steel sheet, and make a "firewall" between the cabin and boot. The boot is naturally already ventilated normally, through drainage holes in the floor. If you are going to get a surge tank custom made anyway, I'd suggest going one under the floor anyway, just to keep things neat, and so that you can actually use your boot space. In my car, I don't put anything in the boot because the thought of things flying around my boot and knocking my fuel pumps/surge tank over is no fun. And being a KE70, you can just get one specially made for an AE86 (Anthony Kellam sells these), AE86 ones go under the floor because the "boot" is the same compartment as the cabin.
  24. Well they were fun while they lasted, I suppose I could look and see if anyone stocks just the tyres now... Or we could just put PVC piping on it and go dorifto  Haha, as if they didn't dorifto enough already after the powerup :P
  25. No, that's exactly what you'll need. For the prepump you'll need a low pressure high volumn pump, similar to what you'd use in a carby car, like a Facet style one. Would probably be cheaper than a high pressure one. For safety reasons I'd be inclined not to put the surge tank in the side of the car, put it closer to the center of the car else if you get a prang on the side you'll be in trouble.
