If its the pump that was on my old/your KE30, yea its a brand newy, so don't think it would be the pump man....

Thanks guys for the help. Ended up getting a YZZE1 Corolla Oil Filter. Genuine Toyota. Real small one and not as thick in diameter. $15 bucks can't complain. Ok so today went and bought new water pump. Repco didn't have a KE20/25 one, so had to get a KE30/55 one with the heater outlets on both sides. Also went to Just Wrecking Toyota and got a KE30 lower thermostat housing, $20 bucks, had to take out the heater hose outlet, long story short, cracked it so lost $20 bucks. Spewin lol. Really would of preferred a KE20/25 pump and lower thermostat housing.... Well I now need another lower thermostat housing. Repco don't do new ones, might try a few other places and see what comes up. Also snapped one of the four bolts that holds that plate at the back of the head. Any idea how to go about getting it out. bloody hell lol Also snapped the bolt that adjusts the alternator angle.... so wasnt my day today...

alright few questions I need to get answered. Which Corolla came with the smallish oil filters. Not the big KE70 ones. Need to know so I can go to Toyota and get a genuine one. A part number would be ideal... Also 3K lower thermostat housing, can I get them brand new? pretty sure you can? Also need to figure out what brake master cylinder I'm going to use. Heard about Datsun 240K/200B items, or 323 one's that bolt in... If anyone has some advice let us know. I can buy these brand new can't I?

Ive got JDM in the title of my build thread because I am using a number of goodies originally found on JDM cars in my build. I use the term to describe a car that looks like something you would find in Japan that came from factory or in regards to tuners, parts etc etc

Ok so been busy, started cleaning up my engine. Its a KE70 4K-C. ripped all the emissions and useless junk of it. Need to replace front and rear main oil seals, new 3K water pump and thermostat housing. Also need to get flywheel cleaned up and faced for new clutch. And then should be good to go to drop it in and fire it up. Also got a electronic dizzy from Ryan SLO-030. and how the car is looking atm:

Haha thanks man. Yea look it is screaming out engine conversion but I'm not prepared to do one at this point. But it's on the cards 100%, either a 4age or 13BT. If we get a drag strip built I'll go 13BT and 28x9's, if not then 4age for some track work at Mallala.

Mcloud plating in edwardstown, $150 all up for say a 3L bucket full. Worked out good. Although they really only do large amounts as minimum charge is $250. Cheers luke for the powdercoating, overrated as job you did

all AE86 man, the current discs are buggered and need replacing so new ones are in order...

Ok so got my AE86 struts in, bolted in no probs with KE25 strut top hats and with a 1mm adapter in the balljoint hole of the PS steering knuckles. torqued my balljoint to steering knuckle to 50 ib, LCA to crossmember 60 ib, and steering knuckle to strut 50 ib, sound about right? That's what the book says so I guess so lol I don't need to use Locktite or anything do I? Went down to u pull it the other day and picked up a pair of 14" ra40/60 Celica stockies, tires are way too big at 195/70/R14, they are worn out anyway so thinking some 185/60/R14 tires. So yea basically just waiting on some bushes for my castor/radius rods and sway bar. Progress is going good so should be done in no time... Dad wants to rebuild my 4K and port and polish it as he used to do it on all his VW's back in the day lol. Should be sweet. Told him not to worry about a full engine rebuild but yea maybe some head work. Should be sweet.

Hey guys thanks, appreciate it. Now I been putting in a few hours every night getting the front end together. First off I got all my nuts and bolts aswell as bonnet and boot latch acid dipped and electroplated a silver passivate. Came up brand new! Then got stuck into putting it back together. So far installed engine crossmember, radius/castor rod brackets, sway bar, LCA's, AE86 PS arms and steering stuff, idler arm, tie rods etc. Still got to grease and tourqe it all. All new utherane bushes throughout. It's a good feeling :blinks: 2moro install ae86 struts and get it rolling.

ahhh dudleys wrecking yard hahahahahahahah yep I know about it too, been twice so far.... Hes got some awesome stuff. Wish I owned that place :jamie: Got about 200 photos of cars there... Easy 500 cars i reckon? all old schoolers... so cool get a few KE10s and 20s too.... and some mazdas, no rotary's though.... please buy the publica!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure you could track down parts from japan anyway.... and might still have a good chance of finding some parts here...

ahhh funny az. SA has always been the 'ROLLA STATE'. Thats why I love SA, plenty of old cars still running about and to be found.

Ok so everything is now painted, boot, bonnet and doors all done, came out insane! Started putting it back together! this is going to be a fun :bash: hahah nah I'm looking forward to it. Just dropped off all my bolts and bits to get acid cleaned and silver passivate plated. Also got all new front end to go in to the car:

Hey guys Ive had a nightmare time trying to find some cir-clips for my 1974 KE25 Corolla. Now can someone please tell me what type circlip a KE70 has and the size it is. My balljoint is a BJ113 which takes a 37mm cirlip. KE70 is BJ114.... Also the stock cir-clip that came off my KE25 was a spring type, not the C type, but sure either one could work well. If anyone has a pic of could take a pic for me that would be great!!!! Cheers Tally

It is a major milestone for me, its the first car I bought (been through a few since then) and ive nearly had it 3 years and its the first time its actually looking good haha :) Yea hangin hard to put it back together. Actually started but stopped as I realized its going to take me forever to clean up all my nuts and bolts, so I'm taking it all to get professionally cleaned and anodized. can't ruin a quality job with greasy bolts.... Yea its a great shine, my dads got a few tricks up his sleeve, used to paint cars for a living, back in the early days. Paint is just Acylic. Paint quality turned out say 98% killer, got a few runs which we have rubbed out and repainted and couple of tiny specks of dust on the roof. Man we cleaned that shed top to bottom, took us all day to clean it. Tonight got the bootlid painted, came up sweet, still got boot, bonnet, and doors to go. Cheers Tally

1 part to 1 and a half for the body, added bit more thinners in the engine bay. Not even buffed yet and looks great!

Mate looks like your doing an excellent job mate. I'm sure some guys could give you a few pointers. good on ya for giving it a go

man I'm in Adelaide and see a shitload of ta22's, just go for a drive, and you will no doubt bump into one. So I don't think you will have trouble finding one, always a couple on eBay and watch tradingpost and carsguide. Parts not that hard to find as well, KE70, yes a lot easier to find, yes parts easier to find, 4age, ae86 parts fit blah blah blah but doesn't have the appeal and sharp look a Celica has. depends on what you want to do with the car at the end of the day... my 2cents

Thanks man, will do. And for an update, body is painted and looks wild!!!!! Spent all night tonight wax and grease removing it and hit it with 4 coats of paint. Also got guards painted. Still got to paint doors, bonnet, boot lid and apron. Will be done soon enough though. Going to lay another full coat on the body 2moro night, will get pics up 2moro, got late and so smashed, need a coffee.

and we have paint!!! well in the engine bay, but its a start! Colour is 1971 Mazda 1300 Swan White, has a slight blue tinge in it, looks nice az. Only layed two coats to start with, going to lay a third thick, glossy coat 2moro for that extra shine. If everything goes to plan whole car should be done by end of the week. now I need some cir-clips for my ball joints before I bolt my front end in soon, anyone know where to get them? Cheers Tally

Looks sweet man, thought about changing the grill to the up-spec one? I think they are from a ST or GT, look a lot nicer. Will look sweet with the fender mirrors...
