  1. Left door going on.
  2. Its moving along pretty good Stephen. I think those dates might be pushing it though. Its just work, time and money. Ill just see how it goes. The plan is to give its first run here at our local Hirstglen Motorsport Complex and a couple of rallies in QLD to see how it goes against the usual suspects. We have had such a good time at the Bago rallies over the years. If the car is ready Ill get an entry in. Tappet cover and bell housing with a splash of Toyota Group B red.
  3. Tappet cover and bell housing in primer.
  4. Thanks Chris. Crank should be ready to pick up sometime next week. Ill let you know when Iam going to Brisbane. Looks like the Celica is sold. John had a great time talking Toyota stuff with you. Lightened some door hinges. No PEGS were used in this process.
  5. Hi Justin. Something to check which Ive overlooked and may cause a clearance issue depending on offset. As you know the irs has a lot of camber gain and they only have a shock as standard. Iam findind the tyre may foul the coil spring on full bump as the camber changes but wont know untill I get some weight on it. Ive allready moved the lower mount inboard but it still might not be enough. Just a heads up before you weld in your new towers.
  6. Cheers Rob, Ill do better next time. Left door primed and painted.
  7. Thanks Rob. Ill try to arrange the pegs to send some kind of message only a few can read when I do the boot. LOL. My wife does'nt understand why the pegs wont work anymore. Started preping a door.

  9. Its not bad at first glance although at eye level you can see its fibreglass. To keep it light its just one sheet of glass and gel coat thick. Its stiffness comes from laminating the two halfs together. You can get a steel like finish, but it would take 3 or more layers which would bring it up to steel weight or maybe more and it still might flex in the sun. Not much point.
  10. Fibreglass bonnet going together. Alloy captivated nuts glassed in and inner and outer skins glued together. Steel bonnet weight 13kgs Glass bonnet 6kgs.
  11. Dash panel finished and fitted.
  12. Dash pad covered in non reflective black material.
  13. Roof vent finished.
  14. Thanks Stuart. Iam looking forward to seeing it finished as well. The list of jobs is getting longer as you get closer to the end. Tail end is painted and lights are on.
  15. Good advice Mika. I used a jig saw. I should have cut it before paint as well but it turned out ok. Dash, Grill and roof vent being painted.
  16. Cheers Rob. I buy a whole roll of glass mat still in the box and resin in 20lt drums so they do me a good deal on price. There is something fundamentally wrong about cutting a hole into a freshly painted roof panel. It has to be there, but your head says "don't do it".
  17. I get my stuff from SEDALS here in Toowoomba but Iam sure you could find somewhere near you on the net. A good marine shop or boat builder should be able to help. Aerials for the UHF and rallysafe computer are in.
  18. Not quite sure what your trying to say Keith. Please explain? LOL. It is nasty stuff and you need a proper respirator with a styrean filter, not just a dust mask.
  19. Inner and outer bonnet skins in the molds.
  20. Finding a home for the rear strut canisters.
  21. Well done Justin. Its looking great. I think I may have started a trend here. You seem to have put a lot more work into your IRS than I did. The rear wheel centre looks to be a little forward in the arch or is just the photo angle? What type of rear suspension will you be fitting? Springs and shocks. Very impressive.
  22. Modified A arm, rear strut and brakes fitted.
  23. Making mounting brackets for the new rear brake calipers.
  24. Thats funny but with a hint of truth about it. I does take a long time to "click" with a new nav before you can really trust and commit to a flat out blind crest just because they say so. I think the first question a new nav gets asked is. How much do you weigh? lol. Mold for the bonnet is made.
  25. Thanks Stephen. Paint is 3 coats of 2 pack A1 Ford winter white. Ive put some anti stone chip on the sills, but nothing really works for rally cars. Iam after the large retaining nut on the wiper pivots. If some one has a spare to sell, it would be greatly appreciated.
